Hey and Carcass is from the UK too, which is cool.

For me.

Lucky! School for us doesn't get out until the 23rd.

I can just imagine all the jokes I would crack about me having an "Ross-shire" accent if I moved to the UK.

(I especially find this funny as I'm Serbian and not Russian. But they will never know!)

I have a Ukrainian friend who said they learned English by watching TV shows. Can anyone vouch for this method?

Raises his hand

I learned quite a bit of Russian by doing the reverse, but they were American shows and films dubbed, badly, into Russian. Knowing the shows and plots and original dialogue of the films made it easier to comprehend. But if you were wholly unfamiliar with the source material, I think it would be a challenge, but not impossible.

I'm able to communicate with you only thanks to cartoon network. (Also learning to type on a online multilayer game)

But no. Unless your brain is that of a preteen purely watching won't work. Shame. As it would be cool if I could learn Japanese just by watching anime.

Final score.
6/10. (Maybe pick up a grammar book alongside this method.)

Edit: I also learned German when I was five thanks to KiKa. 7/10.

History Lesson for Ye,

During the Second World War, the SS raised numerous units from foreign volunteers and conscripts. These included Finns, Latvians, Estonians, French, Russians and Ukrainians.

Apparently the irony of non-Germans serving in Germany's "purest" military force was completely undetected.

I think some were just in it for power and victory regardless of idealogy. Although with Nazis that doesn't make them any worse than your standard party member in my mind.

The school game me an assignment on the casualties of the second world war for victory day. Technically I should focus on the Balkans and more specifically on "Independent State of Croatia" which was a Slavic Nazi puppet state. I repeat, a Slavic Nazi puppet state!

But of course I am the type of historian who will go the extra step even when told not to. So I'll see to put in a few extra facts like how the term "Aryan" was considered too inclusive for Nazi law makers as it has pan-European connotations. The irony being how actual Nazis would consider Neo-Nazis liberal degenerates for using the word Aryan.

I was supposed to see it today, yet alas I have gotten sick. The last superhero movie I have seen that leads up to Infinity War was Iron Man (2008) so that should make it extra fun for me!

Welcome to the Vardian Empire, where the nihilistic-militarism isn't hidden behind a veneer of hypocrisy and our leader isn't a Cheeto!

Disclaimer: he may in fact be a cyborg, we aren't sure.

Responds with a hard high five.

Moving onto the next agenda, it is time to discuss the regions budget. So what say you? Military? Public Schools? Tourism?

Apparently D20 dice are at least 2000 years old, with a D20 that dates back to Egypt's Ptolemaic period.

This just made D&D 10 times more badass

Once upon a time, in a grand grand old land there sat a world most divided. In the north the nascent beginnings of a great empire were forming. The smaller independent duchies of the north face extinction, many culturally different peoples being absorbed into one blanket culture.

The center of the land was disunited. A long dormant volcano sat in the middle, surrounded by desert oasis. The only things that thrived were bandits towns and outlaws condemned to death. Assured in that the harsh landscape would keep them safe from any law enforcement that would dare track them down.

In the east a proud warrior people lived scattered, inhabiting the valleys between great mountains. Their runic script and customs alien to the other people of the world who they viewed as weak.

Down south lay a vast series of human fiefdoms and elven princedoms. Peaceful and well versed in cultural matters, they sought no conflict and kept outside contact to a minimum.

Along the western part of the land was dense jungle and forest, undisturbed by any mortal attempts to civilize the landscape. Many who entered would never return, giving rumor to strange monstrous creatures that inhabit the area. An ancient magical barrier of unknown origin seems to keep the boundaries of the jungle in check.

You shall start off in the land belonging to the Duchy of Allswell, in the eastern most part of the northern lands. It lies along the coast and features a semi-arid climate. The duchy remains independent and you have been brought to the local village of Peoplesville in search of a cure for your friend, Welya a half-elf afflicted by a disease of unknown origin. An old mystic who potentially knows of a cure is said to inhabit the lands.

(Critiques? Thoughts? Appraisals? If you want you can make a history roll to see if your character knows any more about Allswell or any of the regions I described. Those proficient in the skill will have greater chance!)

Well this is better then I expected. I may dedicate a few hours on making a simplistic geographic map of the world(mostly for flavor), if you don't mind. Considering that my woodelf is a cartographer it would be fitting for him to draw maps.

Anyways. I assume it's okay if I make a post introducing my character? (It won't be long I promise.)
