Question of the Day:

What are some of your favourite titles for a ruler or leader (such as 'King' or 'Prime Minister')?

Tethys 13 wrote:My answer:
Pharaoh is obvious, and I am also quite partial to Khagan and Sovereign. Thanks to Discworld, I am rather fond of Patrician and Tyrant.

After watching The 100 sometime ago, I briefly became hyper fixated on the title Chancellor.

I also fancy the title Brennan, leader of a clan, as well.

I like princesses in MLP but for more realistic I also like the idea of a simple prince or something like duchy, ruling on a simple piece of land and doing everything they can to protect it. Maybe like a lord or such.

The 100 was a show that I really liked for the first 4 or so seasons and only watched the later seasons because of the time I had already invested into the show

Tiplomecja

Viscount and Baron and Duke and that kind of stuff

I'm inclined to agree with you. The last seasons of the show really pushed for originality; falling short. I remember absolutely loving John Murphy by the end of the show though... the character really evolved and matured quite nicely into a dynamic individual.

Jasper and Link were done dirty. Real dirty.

Question of the Day:

How is palaeontology regarded in your nation?

Tethys 13 wrote:My answer:
It has its place in the Libraries (Areas 560-569.9 recurring, specifically), and is as respected as any other scientific pursuit. There are no native fossils within the Grand Libraries however, due to the manner of their creation.

People are demolishing prime real-estate and shopping malls so that they can study fossils, it's a fairly big deal because Astatinians view it as part of their culture. To them, they're uncovering former icons of the nation lost to history

Tethys 13 wrote:Question of the Day:

It's not, really. Though there may be the odd fossil being kept as trinkets throughout the population, but nothing serious to have a professional of it.

Palaeontology is quite a useful field of work in the Alliance. The fossils collected can be used to bring back extinct species for their cultural, alchemical, or zoological value. It is a decently funded field in the Alliance, though is highly suspected of illegal necromantic practices.

I like King a lot. Its short, sweet and to the point. Outside of that I enjoy Viceroy. It just sounds fun.

Tethys 13 wrote:Question of the Day:

How quickly and efficiently would your nation's government respond to a crisis?

The local government will typically handle it quite quickly and move it up the chain if it is too big to handle on a local level. The latter part can cause unnecessary delay due to a corruption problem, but the majority of citizens often find ways to handle the problem through their well armed nature or their intellectual prowess or the local adventurers guild.

Question of the Day:

What are some of your favourite cakes?

Tethys 13 wrote:My answer:
If I am out at a restaurant, I tend to prefer carrot cake and cheesecakes. For a quiet non-celebratory afternoon, lemon drizzle cake is perfect. I used to make an extremely saccharine cake every now and then - two layers of sponge, with a filling and topping comprised of whipping cream with folded white chocolate, powdered hobnob biscuit and powdered cinder toffee. The best store-bought cakes I have had are the Daim and Toblerone ones by Almondy.
