----------RAMBLE ABOUT "MONO" AHEAD--------------
I chose this mono version because I think it sounds much grittier and grungy as it should, fits the message and spirit more than the (standard) funkier stereo version- even more loathsome if done up with some post Y2k "remaster" ugh. This is not just a critique of the Stones, btw. We get it, you like money, gotta remaster and rerelease everything under the sun.
Anyway, I've been getting more into mono mixes of certain songs, and I genuinely feel like they sound better in some cases- especially dependent on what you're using to listen to it. I think stereo mixes are cool and you can do interesting things with that added dimension but it can be just distracting via headphones or, if your speakers are not as dynamic and powerful as the producer/artist had in mind. Does anyone else feel this way?
