God our Father, Giver of life, we entrust this region to Your loving care.
You are the rock on which this region was founded. You alone are the true source of their cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Reclaim this land for Your glory and dwell among Your people.
Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts of this regionīs leaders. Open their minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Remind Your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing Your will.
Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, Patroness of our land, grant them the courage to reject the "culture of death." Lead them into a new millennium of life. We ask this through Christ Our Lord.
O Prince of Peace, once more we hear the guns of war, once more we see the faces of frightened children. We pray for the people of Ukraine that they may be granted peace. We pray for the people of Russia that they may demand peace. We pray for our country that we may be a positive part of peacemaking in this world. O Prince of Peace, lead us from this dark time to a deeper understanding of the global human family so that all may break bread together in the secure embrace of peace. Amen.
All-powerful, eternal God, You have chosen to give mankind a model of humility; our Savior took on our flesh, and subjected Himself to the Cross. Grant us the grace to preserve faithfully the lessons He has given us in his Passion and to have a share in His resurrection. This we ask of You through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son.
Good and Gentle God, we pray in gratitude for our mothers and for all the women of theory who have joined with you in the wonder of bringing forth new life. You who became human through a woman, grant to all mothers the courage they need to face the uncertain future that life with children always brings. Give them the strength to live and to be loved in return, not perfectly, but humanly. Give them the faithful support of husband, family and friends as they care for the physical and spiritual growth of their children. Give them joy and delight in their children to sustain them through the trials of motherhood. Most of all, give them the wisdom to turn to you for help when they need it most. Amen.
Mary, the Virgin of expectation and fulfilment, who hold the secret of Christmas, make us able to recognize in the Child whom you hold in your arms the heralded Saviour, who brings hope and peace to all. With you we worship him and trustingly say: we need You, Redeemer of man, You who know the hopes and fears of our hearts. Come and stay with us, Lord. May the joy of your Nativity reach to the farthest ends of the universe. Amen.
Dear Lord, I give to you all the members of my family. You know them all so well and love them all too. Lord, I ask that you would cover us with a shower of hope.
Father, a hope that draws us together to work out our differences, and that helps us to celebrate together and care for one another. A hope that rides like a banner in our lives and watches over us wherever we may go. A hope that overcomes adversity and gathers strength to overcome. A hope that guides us and gives us a vision for our future alone and together. Lord give us hope filled with love, and which fuels faith. A hope that breathes peace.
May our family live in You Underneath your promises. Amen.
Loving God, Help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and worship of the wise men. Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts. May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus sake. Amen.
