It should be something like "its strive to protect itself from invaders" or "its efforts in protecting itself from invaders" For example, if strive was replaced with climb - "its climb in protecting itself from invaders" vs "its climb to protect itself from invaders" Of course, the point is moot if you don't want a repeal/replace anyway... |
