A camel back when I was 8, I just walked out of the store with it on and didn't realize it. I still have it. And some food when I first moved to Montana because I was poor. It was some fruits, veggies, and a couple small bottles of juice.

I take it that’s a toy camel, Otis?

No, it's a bag designed to hold a bladder for water. For hikes, and other things. Rather than open a bottle of Water, it's basically got a straw so you drink straight from the bladder on your back.

Very ingenious.

How much water can it contain, I wonder. You know what they say about straws and a camel's back.

You can get 1,2, and 3 liter water bladders for them. I've got one of each, it can add a bit of weight so it depends on what I'm doing.

Sadly, I don't hike anymore. My right knee says no. I like long walks, but I can't walk a full kilometre without needing to sit down a bit. Climbing two or three flights of stairs, either up or down, is a torture. I hold the handrail and just limp my way.
Had a stupid motorcycle accident, back in December 2015. The kneecap cartilage broke, developed osteoarthritis. Sometimes the feeling of "wear and tear" gets very intense.

That's unfortunate, I'm very sorry to hear it. My family has notoriously bad knees so thats one of the things I pay a lot of attention to. The line of work I'm going into is very physical, as well as my hobbies, so if I were to blow out my knees or injury them idk what I'd do.

Speaking of hobbies, come July I'm going off grid 30 miles into the Bitterroot, a national forest here in montana, to do some camping and stuff for about 5 days.

Pretty Boy wrote:New poll. Regional Poll • Would you rather know how the world began or how it will end?

I'd rather know how it begins. How it ends could potentially be very depressing. Knowing how it began could just be very interesting.

The problem is that if I was the only one that knew no one would believe me, and I'm not sure how I'd handle that. So I'd only want to know if I had demonstratable evidence too, just so I could prove I knew. If I can't prove I know to other people then I'd rather not know at all. What use is knowledge you can't share?

The Chartered Institute of Office Girls

First of all, while unmistakingly knowing that the world began, we cannot presume that it will end, neither how nor when.
Earth, the world, has reshaped itself numerous times. Can one imagine the terror countless species felt while meeting their extinction ? Wasn't it the end of the world as they knew it ? Yet wasn't it essential for Evolution to take place ?
So if there really will be an end, I believe it will also bring with it a new beginning. In fact, words like beginning and end lose their meaning in the unfathomable cosmic distances of space and time.
The universe has Laws. And where there are Laws, there is a Lawmaker with a purpose. That's why I wouldn't want to know, really. That kind of knowledge isn't for Man to have, in my humble religious opinion.
