We're so far ahead we already had 72 new covids since the lockdown """started"""

In all seriousness though, I don't think people realise that COVID will never truly go away. From what scientists have been saying so far, it is likely it will become a seasonal virus, like the common cold is as well.

Hello everyone!
This is Talamia, General Cabinet Aide for Democratic Socialist Assembly’s Ministry of Role-Play.

I would gladly extend to all Forest members an invitation to become part of the Comrades Cup, the very first football tournament in the history of our region. My country will host the event. It’s going to be a tournament for national football teams in the style of the FIFA World Cup.

The Comrades Cup is the first official event launched by DSAFF, the newly formed DSA Association Football Federation. The DSAFF was born with the aim of encouraging sports role-play within our region. The birth of the federation is the first step in a long-term project to give importance to NationStates' Left in the football field.

It is not mandatory to be part of DSAFF in order participate to the Comrades Cup, but we would be honored if any of Forest nations would join the project and have fun with us.

Here you can find a link to the guide on how to join: nation=talamia/detail=factbook/id=1525260

After a lot of consideration, I have come to the decision that Forest cannot afford to neglect its history. Be it in the form of ancient history, told through the venerable history dispatch, to more recent in the form of the transparency reports.

It also cannot afford to leave old versions of stuff lying around, which unfortunately is the case on the front page. Pinned dispatches with out of date information damages the image of Forest as a vibrant, active region, and is an unwelcome sign of a founderless region sliding into irrelevance.

As such, I will request Ruinenlust to appoint Mozworld, with immediate effect, as Forest Memory, with powers over Communications and Appearances.

Welcome aboard!

Also, I'll do a spooky scary skeleton version of this post if the people demand it.

So, I've just spoken to a patient who wanted to discuss feelings of isolation, plus a testicular ache. It was a telephone appointment via his mobile. However he is now in London so he probably needs a new GP local to him.

So naturally the booking notes by the receptionist read "testicles mobile in london feeling lost".

If you have a tiny number to start, and make a decision that opens the door, you can definitely get some major swings! Looks like you went from around 0 to around 400, so probably had no industry of that type, and functionally did something to support its creation.

My worst was just recently when I prohibited the development of AI, and my IT industry dropped 67.9%. Thing is, it was my second biggest industry. The drop was more than 18,000 points, despite the fact that I never had AI Citizenship or anything - AI wasn't a significant part of my nation's economy. nation=verdant_haven/detail=trend/censusid=13

Of course, it's still my second biggest industry. Funny how that works. I'm much, much angrier about the 26.6% drop in Scientific Advancement, given that I didn't actually cancel anything. All I did was give a negative guidance for future decision making, and they flipped their lid. I suppose it's worth it for the nearly 8% boost in Eco-Friendliness, but that hurt.

Official Post from the Ministry of Culture

It’s time to fulfil a Chan Island (TM) campaign promise!

As you know, the Regional Government has been planning to hold a flag contest as a way to reflect on this time of change for our region, giving us the opportunity to redefine our regional symbol in a way that celebrates our long-standing traditions and the new horizons we find ourselves facing. We have a unique chance to put our best foot forward for our Founderless future and to decide how we want to be seen on the world stage.

I’m proud to unveil the Forest Flag Contest 2021 with the publication of the dispatch below, which contains important details regarding the event. All those who intend to take part, whether by submitting a snazzy design or by casting their vote, should make sure to read the dispatch in full. Any questions can be directed to me via telegram or here on the RMB. Get creating, people – and, most importantly, have fun!

Forest Flag Contest 2021

.
.
.

.

This is a period of unprecedented change for Forest.

After the unfortunate CTE of our Founder, Errinundera, we find ourselves at the beginning of a new era; one that gives us the chance to redefine what Forest means and what it stands for. It’s time to look at things with a fresh perspective, and what better way to commemorate the turning over of a new leaf for our region than by hoisting a new flag that represents how far we’ve come and the boundless journey ahead?

The Tenth Cabinet of Forest is therefore proud to present the Forest Flag Contest 2021 – a chance for the many talented artists in our region to propose what they think is a fitting symbol for both our celebrated history and our new Founderless future. Contestants, dust off your crayons – let’s see what you’ve got!
.

Rules

  1. The submission period will last for two weeks, from the time of this announcement to Friday the 30th of April 23:59 UTC, after which no new submissions will be accepted. Note that submissions will only be accepted from residents of Forest (those residing in Forest at the time this contest is announced).

    • Submissions can be made by sending a telegram to me, Terrabod, containing a link to the design.

    • Each resident may submit only one design. If you change your mind about your submission, you may send me a substitute design before the above deadline.

    • Bear in mind that the final display image will be no larger than 300x200 pixels and that voting will be based on images no greater than that size. For reference, the current regional flag has a 3:2 width-to-height ratio.

    • The best designs will be instantly recognisable from a distance and will incorporate Forest’s existing iconography. Designs should utilise Forest’s iconic shade of green, which is defined as follows: HTML Code - #096309; RGB Code - 9, 99, 9; HSL Code - 120, 91%, 21%.

    • Discussing the inspiration and symbolism behind your design on the RMB (with a link to the design) is highly encouraged for the duration of the contest.

    • All submissions are subject to approval by the Flag Contest Committee. Any submissions that contain inappropriate or offensive content will be discarded.

  2. After the submission period has closed, the designs will be published in a dispatch. Once the designs are published, voting will commence via a regional poll that will last for three days. If no design receives a simple majority of the vote, the two designs with the most votes will be presented in a run-off poll lasting three days.

    • To avoid voter fraud, only residents of Forest that are members of the World Assembly during the voting period will be eligible to vote. We encourage non-WA residents to sign up to the WA during the voting period to cast their vote; once the contest ends they are welcome to resign from the WA.

    • If there are more than twelve submissions to be voted on, the entries will be split into groups. There will be a three-day poll for each group and potentially a three-day run-off poll.

    • The Linkupdated regional flag will go head-to-head with the most popular flag in a final round.

  3. The winning design will become our new regional flag!

    • The creator of the winning design may receive a commission to make seasonal or event-specific variants of their flag – watch this space.

.
If you have any questions, feel free to telegram me – or better yet, ask away on the RMB so that anyone with similar questions can read the answer.

May the best flag win. Good luck!

I’m going to piggyback on this official government post just to thank the other members of the Cabinet for their support during the organisation of this contest. It’s my first time arranging a regional event and I appreciate every bit of their guidance. Also, thanks in advance to you guys, my regionmates, for engaging with this project and for taking a bit of a leap of faith having me as your Culture Minister – I hope I live up to your expectations.

Finally, I want to point out that my telegram box is always open to your questions and suggestions. Remember that you don’t have to have a government role to get more involved with the Forest community – Arklanda’s impressive GreenCup event is just one example of how you can be the regional activity you want to see. You’re most welcome to drop me a telegram so we can workshop some ideas and try to turn those ideas into regional events.

Best wishes,
