The Robotic Republic of Hakwan

Kasdados wrote:Hak.

As I said, I created the political paths for my appearance in HOI4.

Democratic Republic Of Kasdados (Democratic): This is the primary democratic selection for Kasdados, and the option Kasdados begins as. With this option, the people of Kasdados decide which of three main political parties will run the nation - New Direction (Market Liberalism), People’s Union (Social Democratic) and Constitutional Protection (Paternal Conservativism). As well, several subfactions are vying for dominance in their parties, and subsequently achieve their vision for Kasdados. They include (note: the list does not include the party establishment, which serves as the basic focus tree for the party):

New Direction:

- The Gold, Blue And White (Left-Libertarianism)

- The National Renewal (National-Libertarian/Paleolibertarianism)

- The Objective Vanguard (Randism/Objectivism)

- The Turko-Federalists (Social Liberalism)

- The Department Of Finances (Plutocracy/Authoritarian-Capitalism)

- The Council Of Corporations (Fordism/Right-Technocracy)

- The Kasdadosi Criminal Underground [The Zarkisis, Metoxous, And Demescous Families] (Kleptocracy/Neoliberalism)

People’s Union:

- The Spartanists (Social Corporatism/Social Authoritarianism)

- The Young Kasdadosi’ites (Western Progressivism)

- The Triumvirate (Agrarian Socialism/Moderate Socialism)

- The National Workers Party (Sorelianism/National Progressivism)

- The United Workers (Syndicalism/De Leonism)

- The Syksos Academy For Sciences And The Arts (Left-Technocracy)

- The Golden Dawn (Social Nationalism/Conservative Socialism)

Constitutional Protection:

- The New Democrats (Social Conservatism/Neoliberalism)

- The Nikeans (Ultraconservatism)

- The Holy Path (Christian Democracy/Religious Nationalism)

- The Free Kasdadosi (Libertarian Conservatism)

- The Restorationists (Constitutional Monarchism/Aristocratic Conservatism)

- The True Kasdadosi’ites (National Populism/Nativist Populism)

- The Kasdados Internal Defense Forces (Police State)

Athenian Republic Of Kasdados (Democratic): This is the wacky option for democratic Kasdados. You unlock this path via causing the leader of the National Renewal faction of New Direction (Andom Domoskios) to become mad following his assassination attempt, succeed in the Party Primaries, and allow him to win the election. Doing this will create a democracy in (obviously) the model of Athens, whereby the heads of the nation are randomly selected. Philosophy and scholarship are uplifted to stupendous heights, Andom becoming the mideal philosopher king.

People’s State Of Kasdados (Communist): This is the primary communist option. Its path is summoned when the Coal Miners Strike is violently suppressed, thus triggering civil war. The nation is, in most simplicity, a Christian theocracy built upon socialist principles. Its policies are defined by socialism with a human face, expansive welfare programs protecting the integrity of the common man. Every last man has a roof over their head and food on their plate, and the very concept of poverty is abolished.

Workers League Of Tomorrow/Beyond (Communist): This is the wacky communist option. Its path is created by the “Empowerment Of Artists” focus within the People’s State Of Kasdados tree, thus allowing the artisans to seize control of the government. It is an ultra-futurist nation seeking a constant, revolutionary rebirth of Kasdados, and for the formation of a “New Proletariat Culture”. Christianity is radically transformed, transfiguring into “The Second Cult Of Reason”. Kasdadosian identity is scrubbed away, the landmarks of old abandoned in favour of the “Tomorrowian Identity”. At the end of the focus tree, reality is declared surpassed, the regime simply becoming “Beyond”. In addition, similarly to the DRK, several leaders are fighting to achieve their vision of how to achieve “Beyond”. They include:

- Nikolai Dedalous (Red Futurism)

- Vaseilous Xaxaes (National Futurism/National Rejuvanationism)

- Tyros Omnos (Surrealism)

- Kyros Pordos (Vperdism/Technocracy)

National Republic Of Kasdados (Fascist): This is the standard fascist option for Kasdados. It is summoned via the success of the March On Syksos in coercing the government into gifting it a majority, and the victory of the Moderate or Reformist faction in the first KNA (Kasdados National Assembly) ideological congress. The couple’s policies are generally similar, both being stereotypical national conservatism, with elements of corporatism added as to meet the bare requirements for being fascist. Slight differences of social and economic freedom are the only barrier segregating the two.

P.S: Despite their similarities, the two factions have entirely seperate focus trees. Whereas the Liberal tree is mostly focused upon salvaging the economy and reconnecting with the rest of the world, the moderates are focused upon social policy and maintaining balance between the factions.

Blessed State Of Kasdados (Fascist): This is the wacky fascist option for Kasdados. It is (again) created by the success of the March On Syksos, but in this case the hardliners succeed in the party congress. Unlike the previous path, it embraces its role as an autocratic state, all semblance of multiparty democracy abandoned. The nation strives to achieve total spiritual purity, a prudish, agrarian lifestyle uplifted to the forefront. Its power is recognised via practically theocratic means, its law recognised via divine right.

Eternal Olympia (Fascist): This is the second wacky fascistic path for Kasdados, and the only third path for in the ideologies overall. It is achieved via a deadlock within the congress, and the Iron Front (the security branch of the party) overthrowing the government. Its reign is classified by a loathing of Christianity, its place within the national consciousness replaced by Hellenistic Paganism. Widespread totalitarianism defines the outward governance of the nation - however, internally, the nation is an anarchic pit of despair, the only semblance of order being marauding bands of Iron Front guardsman. Inhumane, bloodthirsty atrocities are committed across the nation, flocks of peasants massacring anyone who isn’t considered “pure” enough (the criteria for being pure is illy defined). The Iron Guard’s reign is put to a tragic end by an unavoidable war with Atlas, who (perhaps mercifully) occupy before completely annexing the nation into their domain.

However, even if they do win, the smallest death will cause an infinity more…

Kingdom Of Holy Kasdados/Second Byzantine Empire (Non-Aligned): This is the standard path for the non-aligned ideology. It is achieved via the “political deadlock” event (achieved when all political factions within Kasdados have equal influence within the political landscape). Konstantin Atmos (the Prime Minister at the beginning of the game and the chairman of the Constitutional Protection party), growing miserable of the political deadlock, will launch a relatively bloodless self-overthrow, needing to succeed in both the Constitutional Coup and the Palace Coup, and (if both criteria are met) become regent of the newly formed Kingdom. Its policies are marked by a fairly common national conservatism (much in a similar fashion to the NRK) with two subpaths available - the “liberal” path (whereby Konstantin reimplements democracy, although with very severe limitations as to prevent democracies failings), and the authoritarian path (whereby Konstantin refuses to gift power to the people and declares the: “Eternal Regency”). Branching from the authoritarian path is the New Roman path, whereby Konstantin decides to completely abandon all illusion of representation of the people, becoming emperor of the newly restored Byzantine Empire.

All-Colour Wondrous Dreamland Of Kasdados (Non-Aligned): This is the wacky path for the non-aligned in Kasdados. It is achieved via the success of Konstantin in upending the parliament, but failing in the Palace Coup. Alexi (the King of Kasdados) will then refuse to gift power back to the parliament, blaming them for “making everyone sad”. The state is operated in a particularly totalitarian manner, mass surveillance becoming a universal asset of daily life. Its policies are created and enforced upon a pseudo-scientific basis, every last one determined to make the most people “happy” as possible. In particular, Alexi attempts to make Kasdados a “Land Of Fantasy” (mostly drawing from fairytales, which are Alexi’s favourite genre), large expeditions being organised to find talking animals and evidence of magic in the woodlands of several regions. A majority of its social policy is strangely progressive for its time, the regime ensuring all peoples have a “happily ever after”. However, those who finally achieve their happy ending (around the age of thirty) are forcefully euthanised (the process dubbed “THE END” by the regime, its implementation reasoned by Alexi as fore-mostly being as accurate to the text as possible, and subsequently getting rid of future downers, who will be explained later), and those who bear even the slightest hint of negativity (dubbed “Downers”) are put down as well (aside from the designated “villains”, people who are specifically appointed to sabotage one’s happily ever after as to refine it into something greater), their persecution reasoned by Alexi as ridding the nation of its issues. After all, who is the first to complain when, say, mass-euthanasia is endorsed by the state? Continuing on, the nation is run on a feudalistic, practically autarchatic system, every last man ensured a substantially large property to carry out their happily ever after. Much like the WLK, imagination is considered the paramount of skill, the schooling system completely upturned (however this just leaves most people undereducated).

But as Alexi rises towards the horizon, his wings burn…

The Words of Radiance of UPC

woah check out this great poll writeup by Vorhollah:

.
Executive Midterm Satisfaction & WA Poll [September 2024]
Written By Vorhollah, Sincluda, and Europeia
Githubbed by UPC

Introduction:

This analysis uses net approval, calculated using the following method: "Don't know" answers are factored out, "satisfied" answers add points, "dissatisfied" answers subtract points. "Very dis/satisfied" answers are counted the same as normal "dis/satisfied". "Net approval" is therefore lower than traditional approval ratings, though you can view these for yourself in the charts.

Results in the title display are rounded off to the nearest 5; more detailed numbers are simply irrelevant given our sample size, given ~5% represents one respondent. This poll was open from September 19, garnerning all responses before the end of the month.

Representativeness:

The last Presidential election had 66 voters. This poll got responses from 21 Europeian citizens. That means that this sample represents ~32% of the voter base. The EBC therefore warns all readers that due to the use of voluntary response sampling, this poll could have relatively low representativeness, and actual voter base opinion could significantly differ from this overview. A qualitative analysis is advised.

Do you feel that Europeia is headed in the right direction?: 80% says YES

80% of the respondents think Europeia is headed in the right direction, with others voting only 'Unsure'. Let's see if we can find out why from the other responses!

Overall Executive Satisfaction: +85% net approval

  • Strong continuation of previous term's priorities, TBH repeal was great accomplishment

  • There's a lot of talk and only a little action, from my POV. But I'm also bad with names.

The overall Executive approval drops from the 95% achieved at the previous end-of-term. Two comments are split on their opinion, with one saying the term is a strong continuation, and the other saying there was "only a little action" compared to "a lot of talk."

President UPC: +95% net approval

  • UPC is a strong leader for the region and represents the region well on the global stage.

President UPC maintains a near-perfect approval rating at the mid-term, compared to a perfect 100% at last the previous poll. One comment praises UPC's leadership and says they "represent the region well on the global stage." With the TBH condemnation repeal (at this moment only the first repeal, which targeted SC#217, had been passed) which UPC presented to the public in early September, UPC's leadership will have been fresh in people's memories when they took the poll. For how much the domestic Executive performance weighed into their decision, we'll have to wait until we get to the ministry polling!

Vice President Grea Kriopia: +95% net approval

  • GK is a very proactive VP and works well with the rest of the exec.

  • They enter my DMs to make sure I fulfill my duties. (This is a good thing.)

Vice President Grea Kriopia, much like her High Executive partner, maintains a near perfect approval rating, down from 100%. GK has been keeping up strong involvement on foreign as well as domestic grounds, and has committed to updating the Europeian public on Executive affairs through the weekly Half-Blood Herald series (linking to week 8 as an example). Comments praise GK's proactivity and outreach efforts.

Minister of Communications Vorhollah: +100% net approval

  • Comms is the best I've ever seen it, largely thanks to Vor driving a lot of interesting things forward, both in terms of articles and radio shows.

  • Doing a great job of keeping high quality content coming.

  • The new Weekly News bites are great!

Minister of Communications Vor receives a perfect +100% net approval rating, the highest of this administration, with every poll taker stating satisfaction or answering 'Don't know' in regards to his performance. Though this is his first term heading the EBC, Vor has achieved perfection previously as Grand Admiral. Commenters praised the Minister's efforts in pushing forward high-quality content in both areas of the EBC. Specifically noted were the weekly EBC General News reports, broadcasted every Saturday at 2PM Eastern and posted in the EBC forum shortly thereafter. You can view the most recent one here.

Minister of Culture A Leaf on the Wind (aka Sarah): +95% net approval

  • The weekly games are so fun!

  • Lowkey but persistent fun, 10 stars

  • I feel slightly less incompetent when I play games and challenges she sets up.

Respondents are very happy with Sarah's efforts in the Culture ministry at mid-term. A 95% approval rating is nothing to sneeze at, with the last poll's Culture rating being at 70%. As commenters note, Sarah has kept a consistent stream going of games, challenges, and quizzes, resulting in "lowkey but persistent fun," as one commenter puts it.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Istillian: +90% net approval

  • Too soon to say

  • Very helpful.

  • Seems to have really hit the ground running in FA and is naturally an incredibly talented individual capable of incredible feats in positions like this.

  • Turned the Ministry around after slow start

Istillian's matches previous MoFA Maowi's approval rating at 90%, with only 2 Neutral voters, and no dissatisfied respondents. Istillian launched the promised 'Explorers of NationStates' programme in early September. Comments note that Istillian quickly got the ministry back on track after former MoFA Sopo's resignation.

Minister of Outreach The Islamic Country of Honour EIA (aka ICH): +65% net approval

  • Sad to see him go, the stock market game has been very fun!

  • Unfortunate to see them resign as they seemed to be doing a pretty good job

  • Does not, in fact, reach out.

Former Minister of Outreach ICH has since been succeeded by Lloenflys following ICH's resignation. ICH launched a stock market recruitment game during their term, which generated excitement and engagement among the staff. Commenters note that they're sad to see ICH go, as they thought he was doing well. One commenter notes that they'd've liked to see better communication from ICH.

Minister of Gameside Andusre: +85% net approval

  • Took a working formula and improved upon it with staff quotas.

  • Made Gameside a real Ministry

  • You misspelled 'Neutral.' (I'll say it, I'll be that guy.)

Andusre continues to do well in his role, although he's down from 95% in the previous poll in the same role. Andy built upon the engagement in the Gameside ministry by introducing activity quotas for his staff. The ministry has been successful in providing regular Questions of the Day prompts as well as This Week in Europeia updates to our Gameside residents. Commenters about Andy are positive, nothing how he "made Gameside a real Ministry" as well as the effectivity of the staff quotas. One commenter points out that I misspelled neutral, which is correct. Minor spelling mistake, I lose.

Attorney General Azell (aka Ellenburg): +80% net approval

  • Gets those LAs done.

Ellenburg gets it done in the AG's office, matching Calvin Coolidge's 80% approval rating from the previous poll. A commenter notes that Ellenburg "gets those LAs done."

Grand Admiral Sincluda: +95% net approval

Sincluda achieves a near-perfect approval rating of 95%, just like in the previous poll in the same role, with only one Neutral vote, and no dissatisfied votes. The Europeian Republican Navy's frequent activity can be seen in operation reports. Respondents were so amazed by Sincluda's stellar performance that they were left completely speechless, and did not offer any comments.

Minister of Radio JayDee II: +40% net approval

  • Where are the shows?

  • Gem had a very hot start with lots of interesting political shows. Haven't seen enough yet from JayDee to give an answer though.

  • Difficult to judge fairly when he was confirmed so recently but Radio largely still seems to be led by Vor as it was after Gem resigned

JayDee had only been in the office for a short time when most respondents took the poll, resulting in a significant amount of neutral votes. Commenters note the absence after previous Minister of Radio Gem's resignation, but that they need more time to see activity from JayDee to give a fair judgment. JayDee has since contributed to Radio with a show on proposed Executive reforms (not available on Spotify as of yet).

Minister of World Assembly Affairs Europeia (aka SkyGreen): +95% net approval

  • i think i did good

  • Continues to do solid work amidst some crazy SC action.

  • Not even a "neutral", just an "other", damn. He's cool though.

SkyGreen continues in the MoWAA role with high approval from respondents. Up from 90% at the previous poll, SkyGreen has impressed respondents with "solid work amidst some crazy [Security Council] action," according to one commenter. Consistent IFVs and SkyGreen's involvement in the EWAC and TBH Repeal proposals are likely to have contributed to this near-perfect rating. One commenter notes that I forgot to write neutral as a voting choice and instead left it as "other", which is correct. Major spelling mistake, I lose.

What would you like to see out of the Executive in the back half of the term?

  • Some love for Radio!

One respondent would like to see more Radio activity in this second half of the term.

Who would you like to see run in the next Presidential election?

A newer version and better version of this question was polled here, making this one obsolete unless you want to analyse progression/longtidudinal contexts. Either way, here's who respondents put forward as people they'd like to see run for President back in early-to-mid September.

WA Poll

By request of Minister of World Assembly Affairs SkyGreen, a WA poll was added to ask respondents on their understanding and perspectives on the MoWAA.

Have you ever been a staff member of World Assembly Affairs?

Are you at the moment a staff member of World Assembly Affairs?

While a third of respondents joined WAA at some point, roughly half are members at this point. The minister wishes to notify respondents that they can help improve these numbers by going to the application thread.

If you are not a member, what do you consider your barrier to entry when it comes to WAA?

  • Time.

  • My own personal inexperience compared to others in the region

Do you vote on World Assembly Affairs resolutions?

There is a large variety in resolution voting with a heavy lean on often and always, however some respondents claim to never vote on resolutions. This couples interestingly with the next question...

Are you a member of the World Assembly?

...Which shows that essentially all respondents are in some way active in the World Assembly.

Are you aware of Europeia's LinkWorld Assembly Guiding Principles?

Any comments on the Guiding Ideological Principles?

  • To add clauses for the MGC so that it becomes clear on whom do we support and whom do we don't. And similar amendments

Finally, for the last two questions, most respondents are aware of the Guiding Ideological Principles, and one respondent notes that they should be expanded in order to include information about sanctions and similar points of interest that may influence a proposal's recommendation.
