The contest's logo

The Nationaal Songfestival (English: National Song Festival) is a Rivierenlander song contest and is primarily used to determine the Rivierenlander representative for (NS) Eurovision. The 2021 edition will be the first time that the national final is used to determine the Rivierenlander participant for NS Eurovision (as the last two contestants were internally selected). Rivierenland's participating broadcaster Sixx has decided that for NS Eurovision, the national final will be different than the national final for regular Eurovision. For NS Eurovision, the national final will be in a round-robin format with 16 berths, consisting of a round of 16 and a final (This will also include a second chance round which will determine which of the losers of the round of 16 still get to go through to the final). The national finals this year will be held at the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt (round of 16 and second chance round) and at the GelreDome (Final). The contest's hosts are Glennis Grace and Andre Hazes Jr.
