CLASHES REPORTED NEAR QAIM
Yuaneze forces encroached over the border and were met with heavy defenses.

At least a dozen Tasiastani soldiers were killed in clashes with De Yuaneze forces on the border near the city of Qaim, nine days after Yuan's leadership declared their intention to secure an oil pipeline in Naogail province. President Haajid Swati stated that around a thousand Yuaneze troops had made an incursion over the border at the river checkpoint but were met with intense defensive fire. According to authorities, Yuaneze forces have not launched the full scale assault that was anticipated, but these clashes are indicative of a continued buildup as Shanghan and Jaljur wage a diplomatic spat that has the world on edge.

"Our soldiers continue to defend our nation from unwarranted aggression," President Swati said, praising the defenders and promising to hold firm against more threats.

The clashes took place in the Ihimber and Jattal village sectors, the sources said. Earlier in the day, Tasiastan summoned Yuan's representative deputy commissioner and “condemned the unprovoked” ceasefire violation by Yuan along the Line of Control. The Foreign Office said in a statement that Yuan resorted to firing in Jatta. “The President, summoned the Yuaneze Deputy Commissioner, Xia Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Yuaneze forces on June 30,” it said.

On the 21st of June, a series of major explosions rocked the cities of Qaim and Naogail as President Haajid Swati continued to assert that De Yuan is preparing for a military offensive against Tasiastan. Qaim, a border city with a population of 62,000, experienced numerous large blasts at oil facilities and a military checkpoint. In Naogail, the nearby urban center of 794,000 people, saw large explosions at the city's main airstrip and several structures surrounding. While not confirmed, some sources are claiming that the explosions are the result of missile strikes from Yuan, either the actions of an initial strike, or the beginning stage of a wider invasion.

At least 59 people are confirmed to be dead after the explosions and military forces have been moved closer to the border in preparations for a possible ground offensive. President Swati authorized the release of intelligence, including satellite photographs of Yuaneze troops and equipment near the border that indicates a possible invasion, and continues to predict invasion events. The intelligence also says that the Yuaneze command has a list of key sites, and of individuals to be killed or neutralized in the invasion.

Nearly a month after Yuan's president Xi reorganized the entirety of his senior military command structure, it's becoming more and more clear that it was not a move of restriction, rather a move of solidifying loyalty among commanders. It remains to be seen what a Yuaneze military engagement would look like, especially in the wake of the Jinchon Sea clashes which saw severe flaws in their strategy. Yuan has not been tested in a prolonged ground conflict since the World War, and such an engagement in Tasiastan which boasts the world's tenth largest army, backed with WEDA supplied weapons, may stand to show a difficult task.

MAJOR DEMONSTRATION OCCUPIES CENTRAL SHANGHAN

SHANGHAN - Secretary-General and Comrade President Xi Jingyi has confirmed that Yuaneze military forces have suspended their assault into Tasiastan as a series of major dissenting demonstrations have occupied the capital of Shanghan and brought Yuan's government to a standstill. On Friday morning, hundreds of thousands of students occupied Centre Hangshuan Square in the central Shanghan corridor, with leaders of the protest movement calling for the resignation and dissimilation of the People's Communist Party. President Xi and other senior officials say that the demonstrators will not succeed in toppling the government, and security forces have already detained thousands of protestors. The government has also called the demonstration illegal and has given the protestors 24 hours to fully disperse before lethal force authorization will be given.

The demonstrations forced military officials in the far west of Louhezhan province to suspend their military operations to capture a vital oil pipeline in Tasiastan, after a week of fighting failed to secure a corridor in the border city of Qaim. Hundreds of Yuaneze soldiers were killed trying to capture villages near the city as the Tasiastani defenders set harder than anticipated resistance.

Demonstrators have turned out in the hundreds of thousands in Shanghan to protest the government's response to multiple international engagements, including the ongoing situation in Tasiastan, the status of Gangkou and Pangchu, and threatening nations over territorial objections. Other issues highlighted, however, is an end to the one party system long held for more than 100 years under communist leadership. One of the leaders of the demonstrations, identified by the authorities as Lai Hanyang, is directly calling on the overturning of Communist rule and the establishment of national elections, which have been relegated to the People's Assembly since 1906.

Last week, the Yuaneze military carried out missile strikes against "hostile Tasiastan facilities" in the border cities of Qaim and Noagail in response to what the government says were "plausible preparation stages for a Tasiastani attack on Louhezhan". Numerous oil facilities, military outposts, and airfields were hit. Xi also stated that the Yuaneze military was undertaking an operation to "capture and revitalize the essential oil pipeline flow into Louhezhan." The stated intentions of this operation, detailed by Foreign Minister Mao Xieren, is to "seize the center point of the pipeline's control in Noagail, reestablish flow of resources to Yuan, and to deny the Tasiastan regime a footing to launch attacks on Yuan."

Yuan's officials have stated that their military operation is not intended to see the conquest of Tasiastan and that the capital of Jaljur will not be a target, and that the 70 mile corridor between Noagail and the Yuaneze border is the only area where troops will be ordered to occupy. As of Tuesday morning, ground forces have not yet mobilized into Tasiastan and the Yuaneze government has issued another ultimatum to Tasiastan to restart the pipeline.

"War is our last resort," President Xi said at the time. "Tasiastan will be facing the entire might of the Yuaneze military, but their chance of a destructive conflict is minimilized if they agree to restore the terms of the original treaties regarding the pipeline access. They must restart the flow of oil and natural gas resources as per our agreements, or further military action in a more substantial process will ensue."

Agrarian Spirit is the prettiest one, in my opinion. A pleasing set of color and shape for a lover of symmetry.
