"TBH, IMO the TikTok ban in the US is a total L cuz SMH, so many ppl who DGAF about politics now RQ got FOMO over alt-platforms like IG Reels or YT Shorts, which BTW aren’t even lowkey as 🔥 or user-friendly, and IDK how Gen Z, who’s basically glued to POV vids, can cope w/o #OOTD inspo, TFW scrolling thru endless GRWM and haul vids while sipping PSLs or Boba, cuz LMFAO, the way TikTok hits diff at 3 AM, scrolling thru niche memes, DIY hacks, or ASMR, it’s NGMI if it’s gone; also, BTW, GOVT claims it’s ‘bout national security and data privacy, but let’s not act like FB, IG, or even X (lol still Twitter) haven’t been sus w/ tracking cookies, targeted ads, or sending DMs into the void when UR trying 2 slide into someone’s inbox, and yeah, maybe the CCP part is 😬, but riddle me this: Y does banning the app hit influencers hardest, cuz OOF, all those ppl grinding 2 make $$ thru brand deals, ads, or promo suddenly gotta pivot, like, WYD if ur livelihood depends on TikTok clout and now it's yeeted? Plus, high-key, what abt the niche comms like BookTok, where ppl hype books that might’ve gone OOP, or the 🍜-Tok food recs, cuz BRB, I’d rather learn how 2 make birria ramen in a 30-sec vid than sit thru a 10-min tutorial w/ a boring AF backstory abt some chef’s grandma; also LOL @ the idea of politicians even understanding trends like NPC streams or BeReal clones, cuz if they did, they’d probs cringe themselves 2 death tryna legislate it, and don’t get me started on IRL protests, where ppl w/ signs that say #FreeTikTok will go viral on IG but also IDK if the vibes of this era will ever B the same if TikTok disappears, like how r ppl gonna memefy smth instantly w/o the FYP algorithm understanding them better than their BFFs or therapists?
