In response to international backlash against ORSOComm's initial public offering, the Imperial Council has released a press statement affirming that the Ministry of State Security no longer has any authority or control over the company, due to the recently-passed Media Deregulation Act. The Orsonet (Orsonian intranet) is in the process of being privatized and merged into the wider World Wide Web. International investors should no longer fear interference from Imperial agents, and the company is free to pursue its own policies in Orson and abroad.
