The Zambican News Network (Rede de Notícias de Zambique: RNZ) has confirmed the arrival of Zambican humanitarian workers in Bangova. They have begun their efforts at existing refugee centres and shelters to bring in necessary provisions, resources, and medicine to treat injuries suffered by the flood victims. With approval from the authorities in Bangova, Zambican aid workers and engineers have also created an emergency shelter camp to provide assistance and temporary shelter to refugees who lost their homes to the floods. Well over 200 aid workers, engineers, and medical staff are currently in the country, escorted by 45 armed security members, with 4,000 more on the way should the refugee centres need expanding.

In a press release, President Simoes says she is proud that Zambique can offer rapid response assistance to its fellow African nations, and relieve the suffering of fellow human beings in need. She also expressed interest for Zambique to expand its future cooperation with between the Bangovan and Zambican peoples in the coming years.
