The third modern Cowbridgean currency, the Ducat, replaced the Pacifical as Cowbridge’s primary currency on the 12th of August 2020. Ducats and florins were used periodically between the 15th - 18th centuries before finally being replaced in 1871 with the pound.

The Ducat is a circular, golden coin with one side displaying the current monarch’s head (currently King William’s) and on the other side a fox, stag or ship, depending on the value. Accompanying the Ducats are the silver florins, hexagonal in design and coming in variations worth 0.01, 0.02, 0.20 and 0.50 ducats.
