The State of Remodio

I've always found it interesting that the UKs conservative party wouldn't even dare to speak against the NHS but half of the US's "left" party are against universal healthcare

Fair, but its still miffed how unrepresentative it is. The fact that the HoR is dead set on 435 since Taft's presidency despite millions more citizens, and states like my home of Montana has apprx. 1 mil. citizens but only 1 Rep and Rhode Island has 2 with apprx. 1 mil. citizens is not great

The 435 thing is wack, too. The fact it's in place because of segregationist politicians doesn't help, either.

Isn't that basically a thing where whoever the overall national popular vote gets all the electoral votes of the states in that pact?

That's the one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Popular_Vote_Interstate_Compact

There are enough states with pending legislation that, if all passed, would bring the Compact into force by 2024. Though there's doubts to be had on that.

I'm a little starstruck, like I disagree with him for most issues but he came into my small town Montana classroom, and like,,,, yeah idk

Our MP, who is also the universities minister, did the same thing at a Q&A session at our school last year.

That’s the most depressing thing to me as an American. My family was destroyed by medical bills for surgeries my dad needed for any quality of life yet he would never dare to support the idea of healthcare reform in any capacity.

There's always going to be glitches like that near the cut-off points. Nothing can be done about it.

But still: how large a House would you like? A round 500? 1000? When Taft was president, the US population was 92M (1910 census). Now it's 330M (best census guess; the 2010 census makes it 308M). A linear scale-up based on population change from 1910 to 2010 would give the House 1461 Representatives.

That sounds dysfunctionally high. Other than bland party-line voting, I don't see how such a large body can do anything.

Trigel it's like this. Your actions will have consequences. I can say my people expanded everywhere but it has its consequences. I am pretty sure, there is no group hated more ICly than Khas-Kirati (apart from maybe Noronnicans). Due to its expansionist past, the present Magarati federation is widely mistrusted. Measures have been implemented to make sure there is no Magarati imperialism anymore.

I can say I expanded there and there. But I need to do that with full support of the other party. The Khas-Kirati expansions began with climate change and the lack of suitable farmlands in Magarat (and the tribes needed more land to feed their people and animals). I can justify having a large population modern-day due to the fact that most Isles nations expelled their Khas-Kirati populations during or after the Imperial War (and similar to how modern day Turkey's 30-40% pop is made up of descendants of Muslims from Europe and Russia).

I understand that; although definitely not as tragic, when I was living in poverty during middle school, my family couldn't afford insurance and it was cheaper to pay the individual mandate. I struggled in school because I needed glasses desperately but simply couldn't them until my grandparents took custody of me

These were the rules I have set, but they're flexible, and I'm definitely open to new ideas considering I've never led an RP or anything before. The whole point of this really is just news-inspiration and adding more into the sports realm of TWI

I would appreciate Maxtopia dealing with their rebels, they captured some of my journalists recently, I think we can all agree that if Maxtopia cannot handle the situation, then they are not fit to run their country.

Just gonna link this little ol' thing back to you so you can re-read it

Or rather more specifically, I highly recommend you (1) Don't RP on the RMB, we don't do that here, and (2) try not to use NS Issues as points to RP from, they're usually so outlandish and feature nations that don't exist in TWI to be worth the bother.

And our Conservative PM is set to overturn a set of quasi-privatisation rules set by a previous Conservative PM but, guess this, follows on from the original plans of an infamous Labour (left) PM.
