I like how he used Pitts as a reference point, as a city in a state he tried to overturn and cancel voting results. And their government told him to shove it after that post lol

The Republic of Martenyika

So I stumbled across a youtube video the other day showcasing a free online city (or city district) layout generator, and thought I'd pass it along here. Search up Probabletrain City Generator and you'll find it.

I've found it somewhat tedious and frustrating at times, but then again I can be awfully particular when it comes to generators (even though ironically they're designed for quick and easy worldbuilding...), so others might not have the same issues!

Below is a list of legal ages and regulations that apply to citizens of Nhoor. Nhoor has no specific legislation for certain situations but applies the rule that other citizens or society as a whole may not be disturbed or damaged by the actions of a citizen. E.g. a person who has to be brought to hospital due to excessive alcohol or drugs abuse, will be fined for this, but also maintaining an unhealthy lifestyle against doctor’s orders can cause a citizen to be fined and (depending on the insurance company) lose his or her insurance contract (in case of an additional insurance; basic insurance is regulated by government and valid/mandatory for all).

Marriage and sex

  • Marriage - According to Nhoor legislation, ‘marriage is the union between two or more people with the aim to create a durable and sustainable household that carries joint responsibility regarding legal rights and duties as citizens of Nhoor’. This means that marriage can be between any number of persons of any gender, but a marriage involving more than four participants is extremely rare. A marriage last until the death of one of the persons involved, although there are some who consider marriage eternal, in which case remarrying as a widower or widow is not possible. Divorce is never possible.

  • Homosexuality - see 'Marriage'

  • Polygamy - see 'Marriage'

  • Gender identity - A gender identification ('male' or 'female') can be removed from one's passport upon request but otherwise it is considered a private matter.

  • Incest - Illegal

  • Pedophilia - Illegal

  • Soft and Hard Pornography – Legal, but websites showing pornography are password protected and are required to ask visitors to create a profile. Entrance to sex shops is prohibited to customers below 21. Television programs with pornographic elements may be broadcast between 21.30 and 04.00 only. Minimum age to watch: 16. Minimum age to participate: 21.

  • Child Pornography - Illegal

  • Prostitution - Legal: brothels are considered normal companies and their staff normal employees with the obligation to pay taxes, the right to gather in unions, etc.

Personal freedom

  • Human trafficking - Illegal

Use/consumption of harmful objects/substances

  • Weapons - Possession is illegal. Under very strict conditions licences can be issued, with detailed prescriptions in which circumstances they may be used.

  • Drugs - Confusing legislation regarding various types. Certain types are legally purchasable at drugstores.

  • Tobacco - Restricted to members only clubs with smoking permits.

  • Alcohol - No legislation regarding consumption, but it can be sold only in special shops where entrance is prohibited to citizens under 21. Beer and wine can be sold in bars to anyone older than 16, stronger alcoholic beverages only to citizens older than 21.

Religion and other personal convictions

  • Religion - Freedom of profession, but there are limits to public declaration of religious convictions.

  • Other - Legal, as long as a personal conviction doesn't endanger society.

End of life

  • Abortion - Legal in the early stages of pregnancy, and the closest family and the Ethical Council of the Dominion have to approve.

  • Suicide - No legislation. Family/next of kin may however be held liable for costs resulting from e.g. the deployment of emergency services.

  • Assisting with suicide - Unless Abortion or Euthanasia (see there), helping someone to kill him- or herself is considered equal to murder.

  • Euthanasia - Legal, but the closest family and the Ethical Council of the Dominion have to approve.

  • Death penalty - Illegal and has never existed. Until 1978 the police had the right however to kill criminals suspected of murder, rape, large scale robberies, and other heavy crimes on the spot if they resisted arrest. This was however always done without legal verdict.

Legal ages

  • Adulthood – 16

  • Compulsory education – 5-16

  • Criminal responsibility – 12 criminal law on minors, 16 normal criminal law

  • Identification obligation – no. Passports can be obtained when a citizen is 15 years old. Minors are combined in one passport that is issued on the name of the joint household that is responsible for them.

  • Legal sex – 16

  • Moped driving licence – 17

  • Car driving licence – 17

  • Motorcycle driving licence – 18

  • Truck driving licence – 20

  • Military conscription – no

  • Marital age – 16

  • Eligibility for public office – 25

  • Working age – 15, with a maximum number of days per year for those who haven’t finished school yet

  • Pension age – 72, but between 60 and 66 the work week is gradually reduced from five to three days a week. The employee can request a postponement of this gradual reduction.

Ultimately, it should be you who decides what flag represents your nation, and not others. However if I were to decide your flag, I'd have one with a white cross on a red field, with a jolly roger in the canton.
