I honestly don't know. Let's say that we get 50 embassies a day. That's a nice conservative guesstimate. Then, to get to our pre-raid total of about 3500 embassies, subtracting the 300 we already had at the last update, that's a little over two months. Is this growth sustainable though? I can't really answer that since I don't have access to a crystal ball.
Embassy Report for 03-02-2021 Minor Embassies Before Update: 300 Embassies After Update: 330 Exactly 10% growth update-over-update? That's what I like to call a nice fluke.
Well. According to many voices NPA is a defender. But I can give you 2 examples of raiding by NPA I lived myself.
First: My old region, FWO, was created after TNP enacted some laws we didn't like. About a month from it's creation, the region got raided, by guess who... the NPA. The worst thing: The trigger was Rom G Biv, known alt of the Minister of Defense of TNP in that time, ROM. Thankfully, Prydania (the delgate at the point of the incident) apologized. The second is right now. The North Pacific told people to vote against because the WAD thinks the repeal is just an easy badge. And it may be, but I prefer giving an easy badge and saving one of the most iconic regions, than maintaining the inexistent badge standards and destroying such a region.
Actually, I have lost confidence in passwords as the ultimate safeguard against raiders. All it takes is one untrustworthy turncoat to destroy a password protected region. Also, the GCR’s seem to survive quite well without passwords. All that is really necessary is support from enough defenders to halt any invasion. So, a password is nice, but it does not guarantee an invulnerable region.
TNP also participated in the destruction of SECFanatics, which at one time had embassies with almost as many regions as The Embassy. Very sad.
TNP is very closely affiliated to TBH and Europeia, from what I've seen. They've been involved in multiple notable raids that I know of, and the only notable recent liberation that I think they played a major role in was South Pacific, if I remember correctly.
But it benefits them to be independent. They don't get ridiculed by the slightly defender-sympathetic gameplay community (which includes people like me, who don't take part in R/D but also don't like the idea of regions being raided), as they can point to times when they've detagged, or liberated regions, as well as differentiating themselves from raider regions such as TBH to those who are oblivious. This means that they can hold their spot as the largest and arguably most powerful region, and can attack other regions from a distance.
I'll use this region as an example. First of all, back when the region was threatened by Jakker, who proposed a WA liberation resolution to move in and close the embassies (before The Ambassador's Reception did a move that Jakker didn't expect, closing multiple embassies, removing the fascist tag, leading to Jakker having to effectively admit defeat and abandon the proposal), TNP's delegate supported the proposal. TNP voted against both the liberation and liberation repeal proposals, explaining away the reasoning as 'opening up the region for tag raids' and 'no plan of refounding' to sound like defender sympathisers, before claiming that the resolution shouldn't be repealed because the region 'can't defend itself' (which was most of the point of the repeal in the first place) and that it was not of high quality.
Speaking of TNP, The Embassy 2 was refounded by someone from Birb, a "jump point and puppet dump for The North Pacific army and her allies", after the original founder password-protected the region and ejected themselves from it (???), at least according to the regional happenings tab.
Exactly 85 minutes ago, The Security Council proclaimed its final decision to repeal the liberation of The Embassy, striking an end to one of the worst tragedies this platform has seen in decades. The entire NSCP wishes the embassy a fast & safe rebuilding.
Embassy Report for 03-02-2021 Major Embassies Before Update: 330 Embassies After Update: 361 The password's back and the embassy count is now over 10% of what it used to be... a new era has begun for The Embassy.
If our Delegate had the endorsement count that any of the GCR Delegates has, we too would be safe. But I have to note that several of the GCR's have been raided, though only for a day or two.
This is Centrialand's second account here. Since there is no North Pacific embassy, I shall use this account to talk here. Also, thank you for being willing to establish embassies with our region.
