I mean, considering saltwater has a higher salinity than the human body can process, literally causing your body to leach water from your bladder and dehydrating you, I think it's fair to call it inedible. If the human body can't process it then it's inedible

By that logic soda is inedible.

Yeah, if you look at it that way. If you only drank soda you would be severely dehydrated lol

Saltwater salinity is 35 parts per thousand, or 35000 parts per million. Even highly salty Sodas, at 100mg/12fl oz, 8.3333...mg/fl oz, or .0083333... g/fl oz are only roughly 281 parts per million. The two don't even compare in terms of salinity. Which is a good thing cause if Soda actually were as saline as saltwater then with the rate at which people drink it half the US population would be dead within a few days.

Tarot is fun and the cards are pretty. Even if you aren't a spiritual person, it's great for self-reflection and working out stuff. Brains love selectively reading the parts that apply to them and ignoring the parts that don't fit (horoscopes, personality quizzes, etc) but I like how it gives you the opportunity to sit down and acknowledge what you're feeling

I lookin over the RMB and I noticed [REDACTED] was claiming Stalinism is somehow not “left”, let me hit you with the facts. A leftist in its most broad since is one who wishes to bring about total or near-total egalitarianism in the economic sector (Socialism). Was that not what Stalin tried to do? Now I will say that there are things that he could of done better (handling of industrialization to name one), however to completely diss the man as a fraud because of his flaws is absolutely stupid, and even if you are not a leftist it is not hard to analyze the facts to conclude he was lefty.

Terrible take all around really by that person…

Tibet before it was a part of PRC was a feudalistic slave based theocracy and if you go into Tibetan history a bit then you will know that how the general people were treated at that time and how bad their life condition was. And who said Chinese people are oppressing the Tibetan people? Tibetans still have their culture and identity and they are treated fairly and same as other Chinese people.

China overthrew the independent nation of Tibet in 1950, destroyed its monasteries, stole its artifacts, and turned it into a resource extraction colony. China now forces Tibetan schools to teach in Chinese and is obliterating their cultural heritage. Tibet has been described as the least free place on earth, along with Syria. No journalists or tourists are allowed to go there without government minders. they are not treated equally to Chinese people , and if you want to talk about slave labor and feudalistic tendencies than what about the ugyhurs who are put in slave labour camps , there are about 2-3 million of them being persecuted , it's literal genocide

Also just because a place is historically a depressing place doesn't justify killing their culture, language and identity. And also generally speaking almost everywhere in Chinese people lived incredibly bad lives , this itself won't justify any immoral or wrong acts committed right now

2021 Gameplay Awards: Exceedingly Boring & Record Breaking

Lord Dominator has put together the 2021 NSGP Awards which will open over the weekend. If you are involved in extraregional activities and participate in other parts of gameplay, this may be interesting to you. The categories and awards are:

Awards Given to Probably Deserving Individuals
  • Raider of the Year - The most villainous, the exemplar of evil, the paragon of raiding in the last year.

  • Defender of the Year - The doer of good, the leader of righteousness, the stalwart defender of the last year.

  • Independent of the Year - For that wishy-washy person who nonetheless was very competent this last year.

  • Up and Coming Raider - That new person to the art of raiding who shows the most promise. Nominations may be made of those new to raiding in a longer time-frame than the last year, within reason.

  • Up and Coming Defender - The best recruit of the side of righteousness who shows the greatest promise. Nomination requirements are the same as above.

  • Politician of the Year - Ah, the infamous profession. This award is for those who have power & influence by position, and have used it the best.

  • Most Influential Gameplayer - The equal and opposite of the above, this award is for those who don't have powerful positions, but somehow end up influencing and/or in the room where it happens anyways.

  • The Armchair Award - The oft-maligned award, this goes to the individual whose activity level is most inverse to how much they talk about what is going on.

  • Gameplayer of the Year - The crown jewel in any awards cabinet, this award is for that person who is the best Gameplayer around (or at least in the last year).

Individual Awards Disguised as Being for Groups of People
  • Raider Military of the Year - Given to the military that has best demonstrated the crushing of natives for the past year.

  • Defender Military of the Year - That Military that did the most to protect the mostly-innocent masses from raiders this year.

  • Independent/Unaligned/Other Military of the Year - An award for the undecided militaries among us that play on both sides.

  • UCR Region of the Year - The user-created region that did exceptionally well this year.

  • GCR Region of the Year - Supposedly an award for the game-created region that did the best this year, we all know that's code for most popular.

  • Best New Region - That new region everyone is talking about, and looks to be doing the best.

Awards Somehow Given to Non-Physical Stuff
  • Invasion of the Year: Even the most epic of invasions deserves more accolades.

  • Defense of the Year: The defense that most showed what defenders can do.

  • Political Event of the Year: - Treaties, wars, and political intrigue oh my! This one is for the big things happening in Gameplay politics.

  • Failure of the Year (IC only): - Missed triggers, opsec leaks, and more! This is the IC event (OOC stuff is out) that gets the dubious distinction of being dubbed the greatest failure of the year.

  • Event of the Year: - The biggest thing in Gameplay to happen in the last year.

The Silly Awards and Ones that Don't Fit Elsewhere
  • News Operation of the Year: - Regular journalism, yellow journalism, and tweets. This goes to the operation deemed the best at putting out the news we all sometimes care about.

  • News Article of the Year: - That which is deemed to be the biggest or best article of the year, by the whims of the mob.

  • Best Thread/Essay/Long-form Dispatch: - The thread or similarly long thing deemed to arbitrarily be the best.

  • Quote/Short-form Dispatch of the Year: - That witty/funny/weird comment we all like.

  • Most Popular Award: - The silliest and most arbitrary of awards, this award is for whoever we all evidently like the most.

Hate to butt in on this argument but it seriously looks like you just don’t care what is happening in China right now. In all honesty just because something is western that doesn’t immediately disqualify it as potentially reliable. You must understand a simple logical fact, if China is indeed committing Human Rights Abuses you won’t hear anything about it from them or their allies because that makes them look bad, and no nation will make themselves look bad on the world stage if they can help it.

I agree. Although even "unbiased, non-profit, world-wide" organizations in today's world are noticeably biased. It's really hard to find a consistent reliable media outlet.

Edit: This isn't a criticism, I completely agree with what you're saying :)

A nation suppressed by the communists is better than a "free" banana republic/feudal dump/ect., isn't it?
Anyway, separated nations of Earth must end their existence someday.

Unfortunately, modern China is unlikely to be communist.

United norria wrote:This is true, and I agree about what you said with civil wars and the systems that should take place directly after them, but before we jump to conclusions on "democracy and dictatorship" in communism, we have to think about the social and cultural context at the time of certain writings being written. Eg. When Marx wrote The Communist Manifesto, he mentions and describes the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. However, this will have a very different meaning today than it did back then. "Dictatorship" in the mid nineteenth century was not necessarily a word of indefinite control by one person or party over a populace, but was in fact a word to describe controlled transition of power and re-education of the masses. This is likely what Karl Marx meant by a Dictatorship of the Proletariat. So, instead of an indefinite society of today's dictatorship, Karl Marx likely prescribed the stable transition of power, without elections or votes, for perhaps as little as a year-or-so before the power would return to the people in a fully-democratic workers' party.

Yes, and the “democratic communes” aren’t so common nowadays, which is a bit sad; and the idea of voting isn’t bad I suppose, though it is a bit difficult to set up some platforms or even websites for voting
