Former Senators Sentenced to Prison for Actions in Second Civil War

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA - A Federal judge sentenced 2 former U.S. Senators to prison on Wednesday for treason and crimes against humanity committed during the country's civil war.

The latest trials, held in Virginia, follow last week's House Commission Report that determined several members of Congress were directly responsible for the events leading up to, and then events during, the civil war, as pent up demands for justice continue to grow.

The sentences handed down by the federal court include convictions for treason, homicide, torture, as well as several cases of kidnapping and abduction. The two former Senators - from Wisconsin and Missouri, respectively - join nearly 100 other former federal officials who have been convicted of aiding the Patriot coup against the Federal government and supporting Donald Trump's attempted overthrow of American democracy.

The civil war left as many as 1.3 million dead or missing, although determining precise figures remains a topic of debate.

Former Senators Johnson and Hawley, previously convicted in other trials for human rights violations, were sentenced to serve life terms behind bars after being found guilty of more than a hundred crimes, according to Wednesday's verdict.
