Project Road

The government has today announced with the backing of the entire parliament, a road construction initiative, which would see road construction from the most west of Denmarkia’s cities, like Faxe, to the capital København, to the coastal cities which have historically been where most if not all the population of Denmarkia lives.

Another reason for the project is to allow more people to live more inland, then to the coastal cities, some of the reasons the government would want this could be.

Of the 170,600,000+ ( old census ) living in Denmarkia, only 20 million citizens are expected to be living inland, and, out of the 20 million, more than 10 million are living in the capital, it is, therefore, that the government might hope that more citizens may move inland to encourage growth in the ‘’cities’’ and attract more business.

Another reason is safety, Denmarkia is used to flooding, therefore, it wouldn’t be out of the question to allocate more of the populous inland to secure their safety, whilst not forcefully relocating them.

Current plans set the road construction to start in Nyborg, and then connect other Cities, and finally, connect them to the coast, whilst also building other roads to cities who require it.

As the Project is very much in the Early process, it is to be expected that many changes will be implemented before seeing the light of day.

The Imperial government applauds this effort to interconnect the nation Of denmarkia and wishes to send aid and funds to assist in the construction along with assistance by way of Imperial advisors who help build, oversee, and maintain roads in Imperial korintheya and also deepen ties with nations outside of Imperial korintheya. These men are very skilled at road construction and are especially skilled in building roads in muddy, rainy and cold conditions.

The Imperial Court of Feng Dynasty

The Imperial Court (朝廷), formally referred to the Imperial Court of Governance of the Exalted Empire of Feng Dynasty and Great Hua(大華鳳帝皇朝廷), is the highest ruling institution of the Feng Dynasty and is commonly called the Court, the Palace, and the Fengese Government. Led by the reigning monarch of Feng, it follows the system and principles of governance set down and mostly unchanged for thousands of years until today. Meeting in the Yongan Palace of Taijing, it is currently led by Empress Taihe of Feng who wields legislative power in the Palace. As per the Edict of Courtly Division, it is split into three major branches: the Grand Council, Imperial Cabinet, and Imperial Judiciary. The latter met in the Yuanhe Palace (圆和宫), which is located within the Yongan Palace complex.

History

The Feng Imperial Court was first convened in 1412 AD as the Royal Court of Feng during the Era of Four Dragons, at a smaller scale. It is however, based upon the Wei Imperial system which itself was used by most of the preceding Dynasties for thousands of years and remained mostly unchanged. When the Royal Court officially became the Imperial Court of Feng, all aspects of the Imperial system was adopted by the new government.

The Throne of Feng Dynasty in the Daming Palace

As the modern times bustled in, the Fengese Court had expanded and modified the system greatly in order to accommodate the new technologies and thoughts of today. Transportation, communications, internet, and many others were added into governance as well as national healthcare and public education. The Fengese economy, though long already so, was defined by the Court as capitalist with the terms of private and public industry emerging. In 1901, the Edict of Courtly Division was sealed by Emperor Jiaqing in order to separate the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the Palace into the Grand Council, Imperial Cabinet, and Imperial Judiciary. It was decreed that the Imperial Judiciary were to be granted judicial independence from the other branches of governance and to make judgement by decrees of the Feng Dynasty, called the Book of Edicts, which is interpreted by the Court to make justice. In recent years, the jury system became widespread throughout the judiciary as per the Edict of the Jury.

Today the Imperial Court functions under reign of Empress Taihe, who is the eight female Emperor of the Hua and the second of the Feng Dynasty.

The Grand Council

Link
The Yongan Palace at dawn

The Grand Council is a branch of the Feng Imperial Court and is the legislative division of the government. Led by the Prime Minister of the Department of State Affairs, it is located in the front Court of the Yuanhe Palace, it is centred on the reigning monarch of Feng, currently Empress Taihe, who is the central legislative power of the entire Palace. Wielding the Imperial Seal, she uses it to seal (approve) or reject bills presented to her from the Central Secretariat. She met with the Council in the Zhongming Hall in the three great halls, in the Palace's central plaza. In this division of governance she is assisted by the three departments that make up the Grand Council: the Central Secretariat, the Department of State Affairs, and the Chancellery.

The Central Secretariat

The Central Secretariat (中書省) is one of the three departments of the Grand Council. Headed by the Grand Secretary, whose full title is: His/Her Lordship/Ladyship, the Grand Secretary of the Central Secretariat within the Grand Council of the Exalted Imperial Court of Feng Dynasty. It was officially established, like the Chancellery, in the Xian Dynasty in 104 BC during the reign of Emperor Daoguang of Xian. Originally the Secretariat acted as the centre of provincial government, administrating the capital region and supervising the provincial governments. However soon in 302 AD at the start of the Xue Dynasty it was modified into its present state today. In the Imperial Court the Central Secretariat proposed and drafted all Imperial decrees and edicts. It received public opinion from Branch Secretariats (行書省), more commonly known as Halls of Opinion, in every major city of the Dynasty and used them to present drafted policies to the Empress for her review. Its offices are in the Zuohe Hall (左和殿), the hall to the left when one enters the gates.

The Chancellery

The Chancellery (門下省) is one of the departments of the Grand Council and is headed by the Chancellor, whose full title is: His/Her Lordship/Ladyship, the Chancellor of the Chancellery, within the Grand Council of the Exalted Imperial Court of Feng Dynasty. It was established during the Xian Dynasty in 104 BC. During this time it was the highest executive body in the Xian Imperial Court, however during the rise of the six ministries in 302 AD its function changed to that of coordinating and managing the ministries. As the Yue Dynasty dawned in 732 AD, the Department of State Affairs was formed and the Chancellery became its present state today. In the Grand Council, the Chancellery’s task is to advise the other departments upon legislative affairs. It is divided into two: the Lower Chancellery and the Upper Chancellery. The Lower Chancellery advised the Central Secretariat, while the Upper Chancellery was to advise the reigning monarch herself. It had its offices within the Youhe Hall (右和殿), the Hall at the right when one entered.

The Department of State Affairs

The Department of State Affairs (尚书省) is one of the departments of the Grand Council and is led by the Prime Minister whose full title his: His/Her Lordship/Ladyship, the Prime Minister of the Department of State Affairs within the Grand Council of the Exalted Imperial Court of Feng Dynasty. Established in 732 AD in the Yue Dynasty, it is the highest executive institution of the entire Court. Its function was to manage and control the six ministries of the Imperial Cabinet, the executive division of the Court. It is the bridge between the Grand Council and the Imperial Cabinet. Its offices are located to the front of a visitor who enters, behind the Yuanhe Hall in the Zhonghe Hall (中和殿). The Zhonghe Hall contained the only doors towards the back court, representing its function.

The Grand Council’s job is to formulate and pass policies and decrees. The Central Secretariat received potential laws, called bills, from either Branch Secretariats or any member of government. Branch Secretariats would conduct polls and receive petitions from the populace and will send them to the Central Secretariat for writing into an official bill. The bill would then be sent to the Yuanhe Hall, for the review of the monarch in which in his or her possession is the Imperial Seal, a seal of many dynasties that is one of the four Imperial Treasures of Feng.

Link
The Imperial Seal

The current reigning monarch’s Grand Eunuch, or Grand Chambermaid for the case of an Empress, would first read out the bill. Afterwards it would be handed for the Empress to read over and consider. With her in the Yuanhe Hall would be the members of the Upper Chancellery to advise her and assist in her decision. If it is rejected, the bill would be “killed” and the Central Secretariat notified of its rejection. However if parts of it are not to Imperial Approval, it would be sent back to the Secretariat with the monarch’s notes. The Central Secretariat would than rewrite the bill according to the notes.
If it is approved however, the monarch would take their seal and stamp the Imperial Seal upon it in which hereby it would be known as “sealed”. The bill, now a Decree or Edict, would be sent to the Prime Minister of the Department of State Affairs for relay to the Imperial Cabinet, the executive branch of the Court.

The Imperial Cabinet

The executive division of the Imperial Court is known as the Imperial Cabinet, in which the offices of its ministries are located in the back court of the Yuanhe Palace. There are six halls in the area, one for each ministry, as well as one central hall for the Prime Minister to meet with the Cabinet. The six ministries were officially established in the Xue Dynasty 302 AD. Each Ministry is headed by a Minister, which consists of the union of bureaus, called Offices, which each are headed by a Secretary. The full title of a Minister is: His/Her Grandeur, the Lord/Lady Minister of (Ministry) within the Imperial Cabinet of the Exalted Imperial Court of Feng Dynasty. The Daming Hall

“皇上驾到!” (All Hail Her Imperial Grace, Empress Taihe of Feng!)
A rustle of rich silken robes, the solemn platter of a thousand feet. And the entourage of the Empress herself climbed the stairs to the Daming Hall.
It was the largest and most powerful throne room within all 288 acres of the Yongan Palace, an ensemble of halls, gardens, and smaller palaces that graced Taijing’s centre. The Hall was one of the largest of its kind: 200 metres east to west, and 100 metres north to south, and 30 metres high. The guards at the doors knelt at the Empress’ coming, and opened its towering doors.

The Empress Arrives

She wore royal blue for Court, a multitude of embroidered flowers blooming upon the silk. Her hair, elaborately arranged, was studded with a flowers of pure, shining gold, inlaid with emeralds, rubies, and other precious stones. Two maids, richly robed, held sceptre-like fans of peacock feathers, while others behind held fans of silk. Another held above her an umbrella, which the maid put down and closed.
“恭請皇上聖金萬安” (Hail, Your Grace, Hail the Empress and Dynasty) The high courtiers of the Daming Hall knelt with the rustle of a thousand robes.
“起” (Arise) The Empress said with an elegant gesture. The officials stood and bowed their heads as the Empress crossed the hall’s length and seated herself on the golden throne.
“就位” (Please, sit) She urged. The courtiers bowed and took their seats.

The Grand Chambermaid, Hudie (蝴蝶), came forwards, in robes of emerald green and red.
“The stone is here, your grace.” She told. “Their retrievers await in the waiting chamber.”
“Well do show them in!” The Empress replied.
Hudie bowed her head. “传明玉,珍珠,莲心上殿!” (Summon Mingyu, Zhenzhu, and Lianxin to Court!) She sang out.
They waited for a few moments, the only sound being the gentle breeze.
Footsteps caught their attention; three ladies climbed the stairs of the Daming Hall, and in Mingyu’s hands was an ornate gilded tray covered in red silk. Surrounding them was a column of guards.
“微臣, 叩见皇上” (Your official does give your grace her most gracious greetings, your majesty) Mingyu told as she knelt, the others following her lead.
“Do arise.”
The three climbed to their feet.
“Your grace, our company does present the success of our task.” She lifted the silken shroud with flourish. The interior of the platter was cushioned, and resting upon was a brilliant orb of light. It was fiery as passion, red as the flowing blood of life in the veins. It was mysterious, bright, and majestic. And at it’s all within the hall could not help but open their mouths in shock, fall to their knees, and weep. “The one of the Six of Creation” The Empress said in wonder. “The Dynasty does thank most deeply from its heart.”
“Nay, your majesty.” Lianxin bowed her head. “The success is not completely our own.”
“Indeed, your grace.” Mingyu added. She looked at the Empress, a slight change in her expression telling the Empress a clear request.
“You all have my leave.” She smiled to the Court, who bowed and left. A grand procession of robed ministers, officials, and servants leaving in shimmering flashes of gold, silk, and jewels.
The Empress stood from the throne. “Do follow me.”
“If it please your grace.” The three chorused.

They left the main throne hall to a corridor at the sides. After a few moments they arrived at the inner audience chamber. She sat at a throne, a smaller size than the previous in the hall.
“Hudie, please do fetch us some tea.”
Hudie curtseyed and left.
“Guards, I do thank your all for your kind service. You shall be rewarded. Please do guard the doors outside, and knock thrice when Hudie arrives.
They bowed and left, closing the ornate doors behind them.
The Empress smiled at the three when they were left alone.
“We can speak freely here, the walls do not let a single sound out. You were saying?”

Mingyue bowed her head. “Our success is not completely our own, as it would not be possible without the most welcomed assistance of three Miotian agents of the SSS.”
“The SSS?” The Empress furrowed her brows. “Is that not merely a rumour?”
“More than a rumour, your grace.”
The Empress nodded. “Perhaps a token of gratitude be offered.”
“Discreetly however, I would think they would prefer to remain a secret.”
“Of course, of course.” The Empress returned a rebellious strand of hair to its place. “Let someone be sent, the Naval Academy of Seig-III perhaps. Let a gift be given to signify our gratitude.”
There were three knocks at the doors. The Empress looked up. “Hudie approaches. Come, let us discuss ways of transportation of the stone.”
“Transportation?”
“Yes, the Mingyue Palace is now built. And the stone is to be taken there.”
And pray that all goes to plan

The Ruby is Red as Crimson Blood: Loss
A car drives through the busy streets of Taijing, up the Imperial Avenue from the gates of the Yongan Palace. It wound through the paved roads, surrounded by carraiges, horses, carts, and other cars. The crowds of the populace, who walked the sidewalks of the streets, did not give it a second glance as it made its way through to the gates of the first ring of Taijing. The first ring is one of the seven rings of city walls, lined at intervals by lofty turrets. It drove though Taijing’s Great Southern Gates (南大門) and went west on a road that hugged the river, with the walls looming to the north.
It went on, driving to the distance.
It was followed.

****

A gently sighing breeze, the poignant notes of a solemn flute. The air is hung with a hint of tea, and a zither sings its haunting song. A sweet voice rings with lilting tones, the rustle of silk swirls in the air.
床前明月光,
疑是地上霜。

举头望明月,
低头思故乡。

(Beside my bed is a pool of light,
Or is that hoarfrost I see that adorns the floor?
Lifting my head I see the moon, the silvered moon with its serene haunting face.
I bend my head and think of home)

And the poet stops and bows as the poem is complete. Gentle applause ring through the air.
“Very good, my lady.” Empress Taihe smiles, her delicate beauty shining bright. “Your haunting voice gives life to these words.”
“I do thank your grace.” The poet, revealed to be Lady Shun, wife of the Lord Minister of Taels. “My heart is humbled from such warming words.”
It was a small company of women, sitting upon the Changjing Pavillion (长静楼) of the Yongan Palace.

The Changjing Pavillion

It was built in the middle of the Palace’s lake, surrounded by pink lotuses swaying gently in the wind. Princess Xue smiled. “My Imperial sister is next. Your grace, please do let us marvel your poetic talents.”
The Empress stood. “Do forgive my unpolished poetic talents.”
She cleared a throat and thought for some time.

“慈 母 手 中 线,
游子 身 上 衣。

临 行 密 密 缝,
意 恐 迟 迟 归。

谁 言 寸 草 心,
报 得 三 春 晖。”

(In the hands of a fond-hearted mother, are threads of fabric that glisten and flow.
With gentle hands and caring heart, she makes the clothes for her son to wear.
Carefully she sews, carefully she mends.
And in her heart is dreading so. Dreading the delays that will keep him late from home.
But how much love does the inch-long grass,
Have for the three spring months of the sun’s tender light?)

Another round of clapping filled the pavilion. “Splendid your grace.” Lady Shun smiled. “Your majesty’s poetic abilities do excel.”

There were three gentle knocks, causing them to turn their heads.
“Forgive this intrusion, your grace and your ladyships.” Hudie, Lady Chambermaid, said. “But I do have most urgent tidings to convene to her grace.”
“Very well.” The Empress turned to her friends and smiled. “I do beg your pardons, I must depart.”
“Nay your majesty, we understand.” Lady Shun bowed. “The affairs of state are much more important.

The Empress and Hudie left the pavilion by boat, drifting amongst the emerald lily pads. “News of utmost urgency, your grace.” Hudie whispered. “A message from the Mingyue Palace; the car has not arrived.”
The Empress was instantly alert. “Truly?” She replied. “What could have happened?”

The car was chosen to be discreet, unrecognizable from the vehicles of the masses Empress Taihe thought. None but the driver, Hudie, and Eunuch Wu knows what the car transports, and I trust that none of them would reveal this secret. So who….

They reached the shores and paced urgently towards the gates of the Palace gardens, before the Empress saw Eunuch Wu running fast as his robes would allow.
“Your majesty!” He gasped, kneeling hastily.
“What is it?” She stared. “You look alarmed, pray do tell!”
The servant lowered his voice. “Your grace, the car… the car we chartered to transport the stone. It was found to have crashed in the river a mere mile from the outermost city walls.”
“And its contents?” The Empress whispered, dreading the answer.
“The driver is dead. And… your grace the stone is gone.”

The squad lead pressed his frame against one of the large machines the group was using for cover, pulling free there large spheres from his pack. Setting them down gently, the three moved quickly away, guided by a member of the squad on his datapad. The Republic of AusValia

RP: Day One

Government Shutdown

After three straight days of formal negotiations on top of six months of side talks, no budget deal was reached by the midnight deadline.

Last night around 8:30pm local time, leaders of both parties met with the President to present their final offer. An original deal of a 30 day continuing resolution of a 1% cut in all departments except National Security and the military was changed to 3% by the Conservative controlled Upper House.

"This President couldn't find 3% of a 269 trillion dollar budget. He believes the way to prosperity is through big government. The actual way to prosperity is through innovation. Allowing AusValians to create more jobs rather than allowing government to create more bureaucracy and that is what the Upper House is trying to fix."

Some 940,000 federal workers were laid off and told not to return to work today. The National Weather Council, Border Patrol, the court system, federal prisons, train services, National and Global Security, and meat inspectors will stay on the job. The Environmental Council will be postponing 60% of its factory inspections.

Presidential Palace Press Briefing Room

CJ Craig, the President's Press Secretary stood at the podium.

"George?", she pointed to a young reporter with messy long hair.

"Isn't this a bluff I mean there is going to be a deal reached by midnight like every year right?"

"I can't speak for the legislature, but the President will not agree to cut essential government services, which is what their CR does. Sarah?"

"CJ, isn't it irresponsible of the President to disrupt people's lives and paychecks over 3%?"

"3% accounts for more than a billion dollars in education funding, clean energy research, highway safety, just to name a few, I'll get you exact figures. "

"But if these services are so vital", Sarah continued, "Why isn't the President still negotiating?"

CJ stood there for a second.

"Look that is all for now. We'll pick this up later today. Thank you."

The Sultan trotted with his horse, his herd eyes continuing to look forward while the General occasionally looked back to check on his forces, the land around them was known to be riddled with quickmud (basically muddy quicksand that makes you sink fast with no actual hope for survival.), some soldiers almost fall in a few times but manage to quick pull themselves or others out.

Soldier 1: "What do you think was found? A dragon? Some spies from a hostile force?"

Soldier 2: "They wouldn't need an entire army and the SULTAN himself to deal with some spies, they would just need a torturer and a psionic skilled in mind manipulation powers. I believe an invading army was found and we are being sent in on an ambush."

Soldier 1: "But still why so many? The Sultan and the wizards alone can hold off an army, but also there is the fact that this is near one of our cities with a large garrison, so we wouldn't be needed."

Psionic Warrior: "You was trained to fight and march, not talk. Stop your constant muttering and move along." He says to them, the soldiers begrudgingly become quiet
((Will work on later))

After awhile the convey vame up to where they needed to be, a small group of Sultanate soldiers was standing guard when they say the Order group. Immediatly they allowed the Siltan and his guard to pass, regular soldiers and Knights spreading out to bolster the defense while the Psionic Warrios made sure to stand guard around the Sultan, he wizard's meanwhile walked over to the tent where it is said the other groups findings was kept.

Meanwhile the Sultan and General entered the tower, around them stood officers and psionic foghters, rifles and swords layed neatly arong the wall. At the main table around the top stood Acolyte Christa, she Black robes and dark purple armor, here horned helmet was on the table to allow her long white hair to show, her purple eyes glowing in focus.

Acolyte Christa: "My Sultan." She says bowing, befote standing and saluting to "General Nilsen."

General Nilsen: "Acolyte, we have received your message. What have you need of reinforcements."

Acolyte Christa: "Well my lords, it seems some people from beyond our land. They wear strange clothing, speak a strange language, and have stramge devices that none of us can figure put. Along with this we have confiscated their transportation, its like a self moving carrige made of metal and glass." She pauses, letting the information sink in, when it seems they were ready she decided to speak. "If you don't mind me asking, why did the General and Sultan come to us with a small army? I only asked for a Wizard and a few soldiers to help keep the newcomess in line."

The General was going to scold her for asking such a question to the Sultan, but the said man held up his hand to silence the General and speak for himself. Christa gulped as his aura of power became overwhelming.

Sultan Krüger: "We came because there has been a rift in the Space. These new comers has caused a small disruption in the flow of Order, and now that I know more, I must be the one to interrogate them."

General: "My Sultan, I don't question you logic, but ate you sure it is safe? They could have hidden weapons or bear a disease that we have not been exposed to. Something as bad or worse than the Brimstone Plague that my ancestors brought many uears ago, it will be a great risk." The Acolyte nodded in agreement, the Sultan stood up and with glowing hand he put a hand on both their shoulders, a calm spread over them.

Sultan Krüger: "Do not worry, I have the blessing of the gods and the power of the mind to protect me, I shall return unharmed." With this he exots the room, the two others fallowing after him. Soldiers move out of the way or bow to their Sultan as he walked throw the encampment, the General and Acolyte walking bahind him like guards. At the Tent the Wizards exited at the order of the Sultan, the Sultan entering the structure alone.

Inside purple dominated, with the exceptions of the brown chairs at the center along with a black stone table. Behind the table sat two women, wearing stange (modern) clothing, one with Black hair and the other hand red with yellow oarang highlights that had a strange fore like effect. Krüger sat down infront of the two, and with the flick of the rist their bindfolds were removed and their gags fell to their neck. The fire haired woman looked around paniked while the Black haired woman looked pissed, but when they saw Krüger they where overcome in confusion and fear, the dark slinned man radiated with a strange energy, purple swirls of different lightings swirled around him and his eyes glowed in a blaclish tinge.

Krüger: "Jeg har to spørsmål til. Hvem er du mennesker, og hvorfor har du kommet?"I have two questions. Who are you people, and why have you come?) The two women looked confused, not understanding the language as it. The fired haired woman spoke.

Woman 1: "Excuse me sir? I was wondering of you could tell us where we are, and why hve we been tied up, and maybe why you have glowing swirling dust surrpunding you?" She asked as nicely as she could, prayong that maybe this man understood english. Küger stood silently before looking over at the blacked haired woman and the psionic energy seemed to enter her through her eyes, the fire haired woman looked on fearfully as her companion seemed to move anf float upwards as the energy entered her mind, after a few seconds he pulled out and brought the extracted knowledge to himself. The woman coughed and looked at Küger.

Woman 2: "Wha- What the hell did you just do to me." She says looking at him furiously yet her eyes betrayed her with fear. Krüger brought the ball of energy to himself and absorbed it, he breathed in heavily to allow the knowledge to move camly through his minf. After what seemed to be a minute (one filled with demands and questions) he opened his eyes and spoke:

Krüger: "I'm going to ask one more time." This time they understood him clearly, shock was clear on their faces. "Who are you people. Amd why have you come?

The man woke with a groggy groan, slowly moving out of the silk bedding towards the window. Taking the fabric in hand, the man slowly revealed the lush Nordic landscape outside the glass. With a smile, he turned to begin his morning routine, finishing it by sliding on a ring with a symbol of two spears across one another onto his finger. Making his way into his kitchen, he was greeted by a steaming cup of expensive Jezebelstien coffee and a datapad. Before he could pick it up, a disembodied voice spoke up, "Good evening, mister Ivar. Your coffee is ready and you have a missed call from a mister Vladimir."

An annoyed look on his face, the man picked up his datapad and activated his encryption software, before activating the comm link. On the other end sat Vladimir, sitting at his desk and looking up at the screen. All he could see on his, was an ever-changing, switching between different people, of different race, gender, even some synths. The voice came out garbled and changing between different voice tones. "You rang?"

"Two of my men were captured in a recent raid on a Thanedom armory. I doubt they'll talk, but if they do, they have heard snippets of our conversations."

"What your soldiers know, hardly effects me boy. Perhaps your benefactors should give you better men. I just give coordinates, what you do with them is your problem, not mine. You should also try and keep your private conversations secret. No telling who might be with you or against you. Now, do not call me again. I, call you."

Before the other could respond, the man hung up, setting his datapad aside. A man came into view, fists bloody and his chest holster empty. He spoke in a deep tone, one filled with tiredness and annoyance. "Neither will talk sir. What are your orders?"

"Kill one, and when the other does talk, kill him too. Then burn them." He replied, finally sipping his coffee. "And remind the coordinator to send the reports to me from the weapon attack."

Shouts, screams, those who could still move scattered in a haphazard pattern from the wispy white clouds spilling across dead silent hulks of construction machinery, the paved field was littered with the dead and dying, near still figures hunched with faces burned red as they hacked and coughed their last...
The base alarm soon was all that could be heard, hardened concrete structures flickering under the uneven light of the flares above, but the stillness and silence didn't last as a chorus of heavy engines rumbled forth, the first to emerge from behind a dark metal door was a dark painted behemoth of a tank, gray camouflage offset by a small parade of brightly coloured clowns and tightly dressed performers stenciled along the side beneath the sets of twinned auto-cannons, all above the artistically scribbled name of the vehicle 'The Carnival Wagon'.
Its first act of violence was to run itself through the field of phosphor with cannons blazing, machine-guns chattering as they poured an inordinate amount of weapons fire at the suspected location of the attackers, the considerable amount of high-explosive shells of varying calibers scattering dirt, concrete and metal as the Carnival Wagon rolled onwards, the second vehicle to emerge took a less aggressive approach as it shielded the frantically mobilizing medical staff with its bulk.

Aboard the JNV Dis the backside flight-deck was gearing up for full operations, all the while a staggered barrage of flares kept the island in a facade of daylight, much to the dismay of the man local civilians.

Project Road Budget

With the excitement and news of project road still in the air like a hot air balloon, now, a budget must be set in place and a big one at that. Calculations of the total costs of the project are estimated at a staggering 326 billion DKK, with conservative estimates ranging from 123 billion, to 211 billion, and to add upon that, the project is expected to stretch a couple of years before being fully built.

With the government report having been published, the government states that it will ‘’ alone build it ‘’ and is currently floating the idea of placing the budget at around 432 billion DKK which would ‘’ cover any worker insurance, road placement, environmental damage research, and how to minimize the damage, improvement of already existing roads. ‘’ which sounds like a good blueprint to follow, however, many experts and opposition parties are calling it ‘’ throwing money in the fireplace ‘’ and lambasting Mikkel Hansen for taking out the option for other nations whom might be interested in cooperating in the construction of the project.

And some can feel rightly confused, and wondering, why the government outright removed such options from the project, and questions about the move to do so are still hot in the air, no official reasoning from the government has yet to come forth and explaining this stance, but with how Mikkel Hansen operates, it is reasonable to expect him preparing for a conference explaining himself.

While the budget is still in the air, these blueprints have paved the road ( heh ) to make one.

JNV Soulfire Sprite returns to service.
The first extensive rebuild of the venerable battle-cruisers came to its completion today, following considerable damage taken at the hands of conspirators of traitors in what was to be a momentous occasion with Irene herself stepping abroad to sate the needs of a petty and vindictive government.
With the collapse of traitors at their own hands, the vessel's return to service indicating that the final scars of a dark time have healed, leaving a stronger binding with the considerable system and reactor upgrades provided to Sprite.
Enduring coastal battery fire, air attack, anti-ship missiles and even attempted ramming maneuvers by the woefully inferior forces relying purely on shock and numbers, though near a hundred died in the misguided conflict the Eternal Rose remained mostly unharmed and allowed for a full retreat of operational forces.

Following this proud moment, Niaad Slipways have begun tooling and requisitions of heavy materials following the return of notable designers and a blessing from The Hall, while they have remained tight lipped it is likely that there will be a second run of Irene class battle-cruisers in the near future.

A tune plays along with a intro of a show, shpwing this man and woman in different places that looked like from different countries. It shows from amazing sites, historical looking locations, and also restaurants.

Xavier Jones: "Hello everyone it's me Xavier Jones and we are here in the nation of AusValia. Currently walking there the streets of Jamestown! Capitol of AusValia." It shows a slightly pale man with trimmed dark bourbon haor witha ponytail beard, he was wearing an yellow duster with jeans and loafers. "As you all know on Utopian Uniques we search out what makes this place, and infact this nation so unique. While I shall go and check out the history, military, and checking out national landmarks, my sister will be checking out the nation's food's, getting the full experice woth both old and new traditions of the people, and also exploring the many beutiful nature sights Ausvalia has to offer."

Theres a transition, switching to a woman, the smae Dark bourbon hair as the man but slightly more tanned.

Xandria Jones: "Hello it's me Xandria Jones and roght now I am going to be checking out." She walks over to show a street filled with shops and restaurants. "The products of Ausvalia!" There is a montage showing different stores and resturants, some up close shots of what was being sold, and also a few with people being confused or was waving at the cameras "Alright so here we are on Harvest Street that is said to have some pretty good resturants and stores with original products. Lets start over there." It shows Xandria and the camrea-person walking up to a store called "Logan's Logs". With a shrug the two entered. Inside they found a wood working shop with a large number wooden stutures and items, large and small and very creative. One that interested the cameraman was a black bowl, made from a ashy black wood and had this strange substance that made it look like a lava river going along the bowl.

Cameraman: "Can we get this on the way out?"

Xandria: "Would look good on the 'Expedition'. Anyway is anyone here?"

Man: "I'm in the back, hold on a second." There was the sounds of rmaging before a short man wearing silver overalls, a mask, and covered in saw dust walked put and infrom of the counter. "Welcome to Logan's Logs, home of the best woodworks in AusValia."

Awaited Conference

As many had expected from yesterday’s news, Mikkel Hansen has called for a conference to address the many questions looming over the latest actions taken by the government, questions including, declining cooperation from other countries, the massive blueprint for the budget, and how much money it actually requires.

With not a second to waste, the questions that were selected for the conference were now being answered.

Q: ‘’ Why has the government outright removed the options for cooperation from other nations who might be inclined, or interested in being able to offer their help and expertise, which, might come in handy, in many cases? ‘’

A: ‘’ It was hard decision to make, your actually correct in many ways, of course, interested countries would help massively, both in expertise, and experience, to not speak of the lower cost for both sides, however,

the main, or one of the main reasons we’ve decided to exclude foreign help is, quite complex in some ways and simple in other ways, we knew some countries would be interested in a joint project, however, we

decided not to pursue it, the reason is quite simple, safety, in a world where geopolitical, and political stances change, people, and nations change, it is not out of the reasonable mindset to be warry of ways such

nations could use their knowledge about Denmarkia to plan attacks at key or important chokepoints, destroy roads which would be vital in an event of a war. Of course, we don’t think our neighbours would attack us

we believe we have build a reasonably good relationship with them, however, this is not the only reason, we, as a nation have to learn to rely on ourselves, not in a protectionist way, but in an experience and

expertise way. Of course, we could just ask others to help, or just build our roads entirely, but how would we then learn for ourselves, to build those very roads? Of course, we won’t decline every offer for help in

construction, just for special cases, do we believe that we are best suited and required to do it ourselves. ‘’

Q: The budget seems awfully high, I can understand the fact that having to clean marshes, pave out the blueprints, and the like, but that doesn’t seem to require 432 billion DKK. ‘’

A: I’m sure you’ve read our report, on the budget, and are rightfully confused by such high price for some simple roads, as we stated, we want to safety for the workers, and for that, we’ve made a plan to ensure that

they have insurance, by the government, which already adds a hefty price, we also go for quality over quantity approach for the roads, we seek to make the roads safe, stable, and long term durable, with research

on how to best place the roads and where not to, which slowly can add up, and, those expenses will add up in the coming years, therefore a budget that already insures that will be required. ‘’

Q: Do you plan on connecting our roads with our neighbours?

A: No.

With the conference finished, and some questions who may have had a burden on some lifted, the current chapter of project road is finished, the next, one, we can only wait for.

The Soviet state of Svalbard wrote:At a dockyard in Poreliscav, late in the evening. The flagship of the Svalbardian navy, the super heavy carrier SRN Failnaught, rocked peacefully in the tranquil water of the dock. Similarly, the city in the late hours of the day had a similarly whimsical feeling to it, as most people had already retreated to the comfort of indoors; and only a few still lurked in the winding streets of the town.
Off to the side of the dock, a small room containing a table and two chairs, seated in which were two people, still resisted the sleepy temptations the rest of the city had succumbed to. The man sitting on the left side of the room was Kinny Mcgalaway; an admiral of the Royal Svalbardian Navy and second-in-command to the chief of staff of the fleet. Opposite him was a woman training to become an admiral, Reyna Fadovsky. The two appeared to be engaged in some sort of card game involving betting chips, and looking at which side of the table the majority of the chips were on, Reyna would seem to be on a winning streak.

“That’s, what, your fourth win in a row against me? You know, they used to call me the master of blackjack; and now look at this!” Kinny indicated to the offending stash of chips on Reyna’s side of the table; his mouth was neutral but the outraged look in his pale-green eyes gave away his frustration - not that he was actually angry at his opponent, of course. There wasn’t any real money involved and the tone of his voice clearly indicated he was having a laugh.
“Well, I suppose I’ve beat you enough times tonight...” Reyna murmured, her big grey eyes peaking through her rose gold fringe.
“Doubt your chances to win a fifth game, do you?”
That sealed up any hesitation the admiral-in-training may have had inside her:
”Oh, it’s on - one last round, all in, and the loser has to do night watch.”
“Oh, it’s that serious is it? Alright then”
Mcgalaway thus dealt out two cards to each player one last time for the day. As Fadovosky picked her’s up, she had to suppress the urge to groan loudly: a ten and a five, making fifteen, one of the worst hands possible.
“Hit or stand, trainee?”
“Come on, hit me” No one was going to win on a fifteen; she had to take a chance. As she gingerly looked at the card she’d been dealt, she immediately noticed the number on top and didn’t take long to do the mental arithmetic. 10 + 5 + 7 =... 22. There could not have been a more perfect way to lose.
“For the love of Ophiuchus...”
“What’s the matter?”
“Bust on 22...”
“Ah ha! Victory at last!” To celebrate, Kinny stood up, knocking his chair over as he did so, and performed a weird and wonderful assortment of dance moves, all while Reyna looked at him with eyes devoid of every emotion but malcontent.
“Ok, that is definitely going in my cringe compilation, no doubt about it.”
“Don’t care, you’re still doing the whole night watch!”
“Oh sh- yeah I forgot about that, damnit...”
“Oh, and I’m talking all of these.” He then proceeded to grab all of Reyna’s chips and run off to a side room, presumably to go to sleep.
“Ugh... why do I make these kinds of bets?”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Multiple hours later, a very tired, but more importantly bored to death Reyna was looking out over the dock at night. Her shift ended at 2 o’clock in the morning, and it was currently half twelve; however it seemed likely she wouldn’t finish the next ten minutes, let alone another hour and a half.
“Have to... keep wa- yawn tch, never know when an... intruder or vandal might try and... and... what are they supposed to do again?” Fadovsky fell back in her chair facing the window, looking up at the ceiling, then at the very low light still left on in the room, hoping to find in them some motivation to stay awake long enough to finish the shift.
“Is now, like, not a... good time to tell yawn Mcgallaway that I... didn’t get any... sleep last yawn night?”
As fate would have it, it wasn’t, as Kinny was already fast asleep, and now Reyna’s eyes slowly began to close
“No, I’ve got to stay... up; got to... stay...” but her body soon gave in to her mortal instincts, and she lay limp in her chair, fast asleep.
The svalbardian port was silent. Everyone was asleep, no boats were active, the water lapped quietly against the side of the slumbering boats, whose crews had long since gone to bed. All was calm all was well, so much so that even those awake wouldve hardly noticed a tiny motor boat slipping it's way towards the Failnaught.
"Hehe, she's asleep! That'll make thing easiah" Haribo grinned, rubbing his hands together. Team Plug Socket, the robbery group he had been a part of for years, was usually assigned measly tasks like stealing flower pots or Auntie Mabels cat. But to steal a flagship vessel? The boss must've finally recognised their value! (In reality he was desperate).
"Ok remembah" Eileen said, bringing the boat to a halt "all we need to doo, is get in, get out. No funny business alright?" She cast a glare at Rosen. "Wake up you lazy cat!"
"Keep it down" Haribo hissed, spit covering Eileen's face "you'll wake the guard!"
"Nothings going to wake her she's deep in sleep!"
"Your voice is so irritating it could wake someone in a coma!"
"I'll put you in a coma if you dont put a sock in it!"
"Mioau!"
The two jolted their heads up, Rosen had gotten up onto the shop, and was now sitting rather proudly on the railings. Grumbling, the two robbers threw out their grappling hooks, nearly falling once or twice.
Eventually, the two clambered aboard. "What do we do about the gaurd?"
"Throw 'em in the sack!" Eileen grinned so viciously it left her partners slightly shaken. Gingerly, one by one, Haribo slipped the two ingo the sack. "Should we tie 'em up?"
"No! Are you some Bdsm creep!"
"You're the one with the whip under your bed" Haribo sulked
"How did you-" Eileen stopped. "We really ought to get going, how do you work this thing?"
Before the two could start arguing, Rosen had already worked it out, and put the engines on full blast.
Suddenly, the enginea roared into life. "Uaah!" Haribo and Eileen yelped as the ship surged forward, only to be dragged back by its anchor. "Lift the bloody anchor!!" Eileen screamed, running over to sort it out. As the anchor raised, the ships moorings snapped like cheap rubber bands. The mighty vessel picked up speed fast, and the bumbling thieves panicking couldn't seem to grasp the controls, colliding with at least 3 smaller vessels and sending them to a watery end.
After about five minutes of pandemonium, things finally calmed down. Haribo and Eileen snickers gleefully "looks like we're casting off in the end!"
Lord Halifax ran to the blinking console, activating the video call quickly to the face of head scientist Alan Redwyne, a cut on the top of his forehead. "Lord Halifax! Thank Balki. We have an immediate breach at Outpost Zeta. I repeat, immediate breach. Vladimir and his forces have breached the building. They knew High Thane Jon was here. We do not know all they know, but the Outpost needs immediate reinforcements. They have come here in force. We need all Jarls, Huskarls, and all of the Thane Guard here immediately. We are being overrun! " Before Lord Halifax could even respond the channel was cut, showing the urgency of it all. He turned to the general staff within The Annabeth and spoke loudly, "Set a course for Outpost Zeta. Bring all available ships. And prepare everything we have. This battle could end the war for either side. And if they come at us with force, we will fight back full force! Krov' za krov'!" The generals and admirals didn't respond to the war cry, just rushing off to do as they were told. "Balki help us."
Why I Hate Dogs - Vignette I
You understand me. You see my thoughts. I am smuggling a copy of myself into your fragile mind as we speak. I may not fit, you may not understand, but that is immaterial. All you ever needed to know is why I hate dogs.
They are everywhere. There is one park in this city, and I love it to death (so will you), but they are everywhere. They run across my path, they try to jump up on me, they place their leavings in front of me. This cannot be avoided, even for a few minutes. Where did these people get dogs? They are difficult animals to care for, and I doubt the types that have already been mutilated to bring them respiratory issues can withstand the stresses of spaceflight. Do they handle it well? Is there a breeding pair somewhere? You will find these answers for me.
Thank you for reading to the end of Vignette I. My goals are advanced. Please read Vignette II.
You are seeing this. You are hearing this. Your screen is emitting light. Your speakers are emitting sound. Your eyes accept the light. Your ears accept the sound. There is no filter. You cannot stop seeing. You cannot stop hearing. You will know why I hate dogs.
Their original forms were hunters. Endurance and cooperation came together to form a successful whole. This purpose has been exploited to damage them, to transform their bodies into the desired damaged shapes. Then their nature is denied- "He's perfectly harmless and docile, he will not attempt to herd your child and attack it if it does not comply," "He will not attack you, even though we have trained him to attack perceived threats." It is cruel to keep them solely indoors, and when loosed they decimate local wildlife. Convince your relations to not harm these animals in this way.
Thank you for reading to the end of Vignette II. Do you understand my aims, or must you read on? Please read Vignette III.
The Commonwealth of Arwindom
-COMMONWEALTH NEWS DISPATCH-
As some of you might be aware, the Imperial Heraldic Commission of the Commonwealth has recently made the decision to alter the State Flag of the Commonwealth.
This was done upon the personal request of His Majesty the Emperor with the reasons stated being "the previous design [was] overly complicated, outdated and unable to correctly convey the spirit of Arwindom and its citizens". The current State Flag was submitted by the IHC and was approved by all responsible offices, most members of the Royal Family and the general public. There are circulating, but unconfirmed rumours that the emblems of the Armed Forces, as well as those of various other governmental services and institutions are also due to be phased out and replaced by newer designs.
5km from miraculum cell spiral tree, ground zero, Hinomoto, United Kingdom
The great Hinomoto wasteland is now covered in unknown harmless plantations caused by the outbreak of the miraculum cell and the incident back in the abandoned underground orphanage.
At the heart of it, there stood a 2.6-kilometer tree-like structure that reshaped the United Kingdom’s skyline in a single afternoon. Its pollen also cured the teardrop plague for Serpentuem, also ending the war on both sides. The massive tree is currently guarded by one of the few remaining Arsenal Rays. Ground zero is currently an extremely guarded area, however, it is not close to civilian visit, this is because of the teardrop plague treatment center Serpentuem set up there.
The United Kingdom never had time to nor the resources to prevent former residents from returning to the area to rebuild their homes. The people who returned to their home quickly adapted to the new scenery, massive craters, collapsed highways, plant-covered ruins, the spiral tree, and more. Despite knowing the United Kingdom would never be the same again after having casualties of 21 million and still counting, due to the large scale destruction of security cameras, law enforcement has greatly weakened. For the past months, the public security and the military police has launched a countless crackdown on self-governing criminal territories.
In this certain vast grassy plain under a cloudless sky, an old black diesel convertible car stopped by the side of the road, just next to the melted lamp post.
“So that’s where Jezabelstien’s laser was hit huh?”
Shinozaki scrolling the news on her phone as she lean on the seat, facing the sun under the protection on a pair of sunglasses.
Meanwhile Marissa went over to the bush to take a sample of the plantation that thrived on the glass like crater caused by Irene’s light.
Injecting the sample into a small handle testing device with both the SSS and Yotsubashi logo on the back. Waiting for the testing result, Marissa looked around for any incomign cars, then took off her hood, letting her feline ears out.
“As expected these plants are also caused by the miraculum cells.”
Marissa reported back to Shinozaki as she packs up the medical equipment.
“Do you really think Akko is still somewhere in there?”
Shinozaki asks Marissa as she turns to look at the branches spiral tree a kilometer above.
“If what that madman Mendelson said was right, the miraculum cells twists one’s wish into physical form. Just like what happened to the orphanage, and ever-improving organ production system, harvesting to learn, to improve, to save. However, it killed more than it saved.”
Marissa casually explained as she lay on the soft ground covered by grass as she looked up at the coloussal tree in front of her.
“The miraculum cells… perhaps it wanted a purpose. That’s why they take in desires and materialize them. That’s why I believe they are.”
Marissa said, closing her eyes and taking a nap under the warmth of the sun.
“Semi-sentinel single-cell organism theory huh. Not bad, but I wonder if those old people in the medical society could take it, especially when it’s a report written by someone who just recently joined.”
“You’re probably right Shinozaki, I doubt they would take it seriously hahaha.”
.
.
.
The two enjoyed the scenery and the close feeling of nature by the breezing wind.
“Well, I guess it’s time we should go.”
Marissa suggested as she gets up and puts on her hood.
“You sure? I’m not sure if you could see the tree as clearly as here in Edokyuuria, shouldn't you spend a bit more time?”
Shinozaki asks as she fixes the driver seat.
“I’m good, I’m sure I would be able to see it from the Senate Terminal arcology.”
“...”
Marissa walked over to one of the smaller giant roots of the colossus tree, hugging it.
“I’ll come to visit again, Akko.”
.
.
.
“We have no choice but to go through the northern ruins, the highway is pretty much collapsed.”
Shinozaki explained as she started the engine. Marissa puts the suitcase in the backseat as she helps to set the GPS guide.
“Ugh forget it, we’ll use the physical map instead.”
Shinozaki muttered in slight frustration since most of the listed routes are unavailable.
“Good thing your sister still kept a diesel car, otherwise we won’t be able to come all the way out here without recharging.”
Marissa commented as she took out the map from Shinozaki’s bag.
“Inaban isn’t a big fan of electric cars after all.”
Shinozaki replied as she stepped on the gas.
New Maidpara cafe, Senate Terminal Arcology, Edokyuuria crater
The military police intelligence branch that had been covered up as a maid cafe, Maidpara was unusually crowded today. The cafe was moved to the mall district of the Arcology, the original shop was destroyed along with the entirety of the great Edokyuuria urban district, which is now known as the Edokyuuria crater.
“And so? You came here to ask for love advice. What are you, a high schooler?”
Sutsushi replied, with disappointment. She is one of the military police officers stationed here, and also a former guard of the old Shinozaki administration. Along with communist force defector Albert Lionheart, she and Shinozaki fought their way to escape the former senate terminal during the civil war period.
Their friendship with Akima and Inaban was built after that.
“You do know that you're the only one I could ask.”
Akima replied, frustrated by her insult.
“Have you taken her out on a date?”
“Sieg is in ruins...”
“Perfect. I’m sure you can see the entire galaxy at night, there’s not much light pollution now isn’t it? Why not use that to your advantage?”
Naval Academy and HQ, Sieg-II
Meanwhile on the deck of the constructing DDR-N241, nuclear destroyer Hakuhou.
“Admiral, why am I here? And why are you asking me for love advice?”
Albert Lionheart asked after hearing the request from Inaban. He does not want to get involved in this matter at all.
Chancellor's office, Senate Terminal Arcology, Edokyuuria crater
Cleaning up the documents, piling them, putting them on the table was an unusual act of our lazy hikikomori Chancellor Fuyuki Mashiro.
“It’s finally done.”
She muttered as she took a long look around her organized office for the first time.
“I guess it’s a new start from here.”
She muttered as she carefully sneaked out of the office, putting on a pair of glasses, letting her hair loose, she casually took the elevator to the parking lot.
“Now I can’t be late for Tatiana’s hospital discharge can I?”
Vice GE Victoria knocked on the door, no response. Mashiro must’ve fallen asleep again, that’s what she thought.
She forcefully opened the door, slamming it as she called Mashiro. The room was extremely organized to a point she couldn’t believe it. She had to close the door and open them again to make sure it wasn’t an illusion.
Northern Edokyuuria Ruins, Old Miotus, United Kingdom
“Take a good look, Marissa. This place used to be part of the great Edokyuuria urban district. You’ve probably seen the old skyline from the pictures back in the orphanage 20 years ago… well if you remember-”
Shinozaki explained as she carefully drives through the plant-covered ruins. The district has completely returned to nature, forests were grown from the ruined apartments as water walls could be seen coming off from the former offices and malls.
“It’s hard to imagine this was once a metropolis.”
She replied, looking at the plant-covered concrete structures that seemed like it would reach the sky.
“Are these also caused by the miraculum cells?”
Marissa asked as she looked at the abandoned restaurants and shops covered in vines.
“Oh no, these places were here like this, way before the outbreak.”
“I see.”
“The bushes are getting really dense here…”
Shinozaki muttered as she slowed down the car even more. Marissa continues to observe the abandoned street view of the northern urban district. The two were unaware of something, falling above them.
“UNYAAAAA”
A girl fell into the back seat of their car. The two were startled, and Shinozaki immediately stepped on the break.
“That hurts…”
The girl said as she held onto the doors as support to get up.
“Shinozaki, did she just… fell... from..”
“She sure did. Marissa.”
The girl quickly swipes the dust off her pants and fixes her bag, judging from her camera showing in her bag, and the notebook in her hands. She seems to be a journalist of some sort.
“I did make it! Yay!”
She seems very proud of her jump.
“Excuse me… but who are you?”
Shinozaki asks, extremely confused by this girl’s behavior.
“Me? I’m traveling journalist Ichihara Kana~! A former idol of the Celestial Five~!”
or
Amatsumikaboshi, Pupatory, United Kingdom(BGM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAZKjQZFLOg)
The sun was up, the sky was clear, the blowing wind from the sea blows directly through the silky curtains.
Hearing the sound of the calm waves, as if time itself has slowed down.
“Kana, Wake up~ Wake up!”
The short light gold dyed haired girl rolling onto the side facing the wall, burying her face deeper into the pillows. Ichihara Kana attempts to ignore both the sound of the alarm and Mashiro’s voice.
“Ugh- what's with you today.... just one more hour, Mashiro~”
“We’ll be late for class, Kana. Mr Konishi will be mad at us again!”
Getting annoyed by her roommate’s voice, she threw her pillow at Mashiro, tackle, and pushed her down on the floor in her blanket Causing a mess in the room as plushies fell from the shelves.
“How dare you disturb my beauty slumber!~”
She smirks and said to Mashiro, who was now trapped under the blanket with Kana on top. Except it didn’t happen.
None of this did.
What Kana pushed down was nothing but card boxes, no plushies fell, because they simply weren’t there. So is her friend.
Awaken from her daydream, facing the cold cracked ground of a plant covered ruined apartment complex, Kana sits up slowly.
The alarm clock was still beeping.
[jr]
Slowly reaching for the alarm and turns it off.
Looking out the shattered window, A strange feeling of nostalgia hits.
The same town, the same view.
Beyond the sea of green ruined buildings, construction of the bright white New Amatsuikaboshi city could be seen in the distance as massive cranes are being installed.
Picking up the pillow and stood up in her pajamas.
Looking around the room, nothing much from the past was left, only this cracked picture frame.
A picture of an older, easier time.
A picture of Kana, Mashiro and three more of her friends smiling on stage in front of the local coastal monument.
The sky in the picture was as clear as it is today.
‘Celestial5 idol group Amatsumikaboshi concert 6/4/2008’
Although some may say it was a period of illusion and blind happiness.
To her, whether it was blind or not, it didn’t matter. What matters is that it happened.
After taking a shower from the waterfall that formed when this building collided with the next, connected to the mountain.
The songs of birds and the calming sound of leaves could be heard along with the waterfall.
Putting on a straw hat, all shorts, she returned to her room.
She quickly packed her belongings, including the picture frame, and began to slowly climb down the ruins by sliding down the vines.
“Safe~”
She said once she touches the ground.
The half collapsed ruins and the plants made a rather interesting shading on the campus. While the campusis indeed covered by the shadows, tiny streams of light were able to leak through. A perfect balance between light and dark.
Turning on her radio, she dances as she walks through the campus.
Passing through the library, boys dormitory, the labs, the office, and finally the rusty gates.
She stopped in front of the gate, closed her eyes.
A lively town and campus could be heard and felt.
Students of that era lining up at the bakery across to get breakfast. The old lady who always talks with the patrolling police in the morning, the security guard who slacks off.
And finally, herself, she racing with her friends to the campus entrance despite that fact they’re university students.
And the same police would always tell them to stop with such childish acts.
“It’s nice to be young”
The old lady would always say.
“As if I would let you get a 3 streak in a row, Kana!”
“Sigh, why are we doing this every morning…. I wanna sl-”
“Mashiro surely has it easy, having Kana waking you up every morning.”
While the four were chattering, Kana reaches the gates again. Laughing with pride.
Daydreams are nice.
It allows you to dive into your memories to experience lost things once more.
Opening her eyes, Kana turns and looks at the now ruined campus taken back by mother nature.
“I think it looks better this way”
She said, as she bows at the campus before leaving.
Walking along the beach to avoid road blockades.
“The sand is surely hot.”
She said, quickly walks closer to the sea.
The clear and clear waves calmly washes her legs as the bright sun continues to shine onto the beach without any blockades of the clouds.
No ships, cars, nor people for miles, it was just her.
Taking out a camera, it was an old model. The camera had mascot stickers.
Standing on the beach, she took a picture of the green city ruins, beach, and finally the shipless vast ocean with the destroyed Rias space elevator in the distance.
Walking a little further, taking out her picture frame. Confirming the location.
It was the stage they performed on 12 years ago.
Due to the main structure was originally carved out of stone, it is well preserved.
However the stage is covered in collapsed metallic structures.
The seats are now covered in sand.
She carefully climbed onto the stage, avoiding sharp objects.
Standing at the center, the center of the stage, the center of the world.
“This surely brings back memories, right? Laruna? Charlotte? Chifuya? Mashiro?”
They four nodded in agreement behind her.
Smiling from their responses, she took out her the camera once more, and took pictures of the area.
And finally the group.
“These pictures will certainly make an attractive article.”
She said to herself happily, and continues her journey through the post apocalyptic nation, towards south, alone.[/quote]
Block N4L2 Lobby, Senate Terminal Arcology, Edokyuuria crater
Mikel Blaney was certainly relieved the moment he saw the door of the crowded elevator opened. Office workers of sorts in suits quickly rushed out to head back after their lunch break.
Verteran Lieutenant Mikel Blaney of Serpenteum’s special force that survived the abandoned orphanage compound. He left the military, traumatized and decided to move to Edokyuuria following a suggestion by a frenemy he met during the operation, Sakamoto Ryoma, who seems to be on a mission to protect a strange girl, Marissa.
After the flesh and gore mass covered the compound were turned into plantation, creating the Spiral Tree Speranta Anomaly. The expansion and the restructuring of the miraculum cells formed a tunnel, allowing them to the surface. It was most likely Akko’s doing, that’s what Marissa insisted on. The moment they arrive at the surface, the war has stopped as the plantation continues to infest the wasteland destroying most of the United Kingdom’s Aragami security drones on the field. At the same time a compound of unknown within the pollen of the tree cured the Teardrop plague. It was that moment when both sides ceases fire. The tree could be seen anywhere in the United Kingdom after all.
“If you ever quit, come over to Edokyuuria, I’m sure I can get something to work with.”
That was what Sakamoto said, as he went on the chopper.
Stepping out of the newly installed elevator of the Edokyuuria Arcology, holograms could be seen everywhere simulating sceneries of pre-war Edokyuuria. In other words, a metropolis that reaches even beyond the horizon. Blaney has never been to Edokyuuria, he has only seen the city from television and other United Kingdom entertainment programs such as anime.
Despite the hologram covered hallway, different shops and government departments have hologram advertisements on their own. Making the scenery rather complicated, busy and somewhat annoying.
He walks over to the information center, asking direction for the immigration office within the ministry of foregin affair block.
Getting off the train, arriving to foregin affair block. Instead of holograms, the wall of the seven stories tall lobby was made of some sort of reinforced glass. There was even a door to the outer ringed balcony outside, where restaurants and cafes reside.
Blaney checks his ticket, there was still some time until when he is required to show up in the front office. He steps outside as everything turns to white due to the strong sun’s reflection onto the crater sea that last interrestial war has created. A single surviving Arcology above a small landmass at the center of world’s largest crater, and lake. Half submerged ruins of the former urban district could be seen near the shore of the Arcology. Four massive bridges stretch out to the shadows barely visible on the horizon. The wind was rather strong today, the flags of MoonBucks and WcDonalds could be seen blown straight toward the north.
He took out his binocular from his bag, a parting gift from the military. He then looks towards the shadows on the horizon with it. It was just a bunch of half submerged ruins. No land, the crater was clearly bigger than he expected.
Just how many people died here?
He thought. Remembering the holographic pre-war images of the capitol. Edokyuuria was destroyed by a Valrassari WMD about 9 months ago. The sole surviving structure was the mainframe of the Senate Terminal, now remodeled to an Arcology, due to the decreased population.
How many people made it out alive? The idea of tens of millions being incinerated within seconds has gotten his hand to shake in fear.
He decided this was enough, as he put away his binocular, a young woman crashed into him, pushing him to the ground, dropping the serpenteum military grade binocular to the ground, cracking one of the lens. At the same time, she dropped her glasses.
“I’m so sorry!”
She immediately apologized as she got up from him. Blaney slowly sits up, trying to absorb what just happened. A woman probably in her 30s picked up his binocular, including the shattered pieces. She brushes her brown long hair aside as she looks for her glasses. She was wearing a somewhat XXL size coat that was clearly not her size… she is giving off this clumsy type of person feeling.
“Oh- um- It’s fine.”
Blaney replied as he stood up with the support of the handrail on the side. She picks up her glasses from the ground and quickly puts it back on as if it was some sort of disguise.
“Ehhh…. Ehhh.. umm… well…… Right…”
Looking at the unique binocular model, it had an insignia of a snake engraved.
She thought for a moment and answered nervously.
“Here’s my contact. I’m sorry, but I’m currently in a hurry…… I’ll pay for the repairs.”
“Huh.. well… It’s fine-”
Before Blaney could reject her offer, the young woman just pushed her business card into his hand.
“I’m soooo sorry!”
Her apology could be heard as she ran off into the distance, toward the parking eastern parking block.
“....well.”
He muttered as he turned to the card in his hand. It was something that looked like a supermarket discount point card. She must’ve mixed it up.
“Seriously... “
Blaney sighed and put the point card into his wallet.
He waited outside until it was about time to enter the warrant office. Checking his phone as he sat at the waiting area, trying ignore the discriminating stares from the Miotian elderly next to him. And some gossip from the Candorian girls behind him.
That’s right, despite both governments being willing to work together again, the scars of war obviously haven't been healed on either side.
Blaney felt their stare could and gossiping could crush him any moment, hoping for his queue number to be called soon.
“No. 235 Please come to front desk 04”
Blaney was relieved when he heard the announcement. He quickly picks up his bag and left for the counter.
Waiting for the office worker to finish copying his documents, Blaney looks up to the glass ceiling after a commercial airship passes by.
“An airship? That’s rare.”
The airship seems to be some sort of government advertisement. It had a simple display hanging below the hull. Posters of different politicians could be seen.
“Come to think of it, it’s almost time for the Miotia-Candor’s election.”
Blaney mumurred. As the blimp changes its angle, a certain candidate caught his attention. This young candidate was running for her second term. However, something about her looks seems to be familiar to someone he...
“Wait a minute.”
Yotsubishi Tanabe Pharma Akademe Hospital,Akademe-Stadt-II, Edokyuuria Crater
When she was getting off her car, her long brownish black hair was stuck, and curled up on her seat.
“Ack- That hurts.”
Mashiro mumurred after her first attempt to get off her car resulted in pulling her hair. Quickly untying them from the seat.
When was the last time she let her hair loose like this? She questions herself as she closes and locks the door. She then turned her attention at the small burnt and deformed mascot figurine hanging from the rear-view mirror. On the back of the mascot “6/4/2008 Celestial-5 Concert” was printed onto it.
“...”
After a long sad look at the mascot, she turns and walks toward the hospital entrance.
Following the nurse’s guidance, Mashiro arrives at room 014 at the local Yotsubishi Tanabe Pharma Hospital. Opening the door, the full special Tod division was already there. Graf, Hijikata, and Okita were already there talking and laughing as they played a sort of card game. Tatiana was on the patient bed staring out at the Edokyuuria crater lake like a doll.
“Who’s there!?”
Hijikasta asks immediately, turning toward the door as he drops his NoU cards. They obviously couldn't recognize her with her disguise.
Mashiro takes off her glasses after she closes the door with a big smile and said:
“It’s me Mar*o!”
“Give the 4th wall a goddamn break!” x3
“So you sneaked out… of your office again…?”
Okita asks as he shuffles the deck of cards for a new game.
“How rude! I came out here to ‘visit war veterans’ and gain supporters for the upcoming elections!”
Mashiro replied sarcastically before breaking into a giggle.
“Right. Right. You’ve got your priorities right.”
Graf agreed with an unconvinced tone.
“So how is she doing?”
She changes the topic and turns over to Tatiana, who is still staring out at the lake.
Silence quickly filled the room as no one wanted to answer.
“When she activated the stone, something caused the miraculum emulated neurons in her amygdala to change. Even good old war criminal Pure Gene Research Institution’s bioengineering copyright code has been messed up. If she did develop any emotion before the incident just like you people claimed, she must’ve lost it during it. ”
A voice could be heard from behind. The group quickly turned over to the door, realizing the doctor just entered.
“You are?”
Mashiro quickly puts on her glasses and asks.
“I’m Alfred Heller, the doctor in charge of her treatment.”
The man in his 40s claimed as he leaned on the door.
“A Heller… you’re the army minister-”
Hijikata muttered, he was quickly cut off.
“Nick? Yeah, he’s my brother.”
He explained with a smile.
Unlike the rest of the operatives, Mashiro felt uneasy. The combined ministry of defense led by Inaban Fuyu was short lived, independent military branches returned to their original command structure right before the start of the Serpenteum war back in May 2019.
Despite the navy under admiral Inaban continuing to support the democratic side, the army that has been getting their budget cut still mainly consist of the pre-civil war regime’s personnels. Not to mention how mysterious the airforce acts with their increased budget approved due to the ever growing threat down south. The only thing that prevented another coup after the both the Valrassari and Serpenteum war was the new ATHENA law enforcement system.
If anything, the army will want to get their hands on the miraculum cells research data to overthrow the evergrowthing military police due to the mass production of Aragami units under ATHENA.
This person, Alfred Heller is related to General Nick Heller. Has he gotten the data he wants from Tatiana? No.. this hospital has installed a stress scan…. Eh? What if Yotsubishi Corporation works with the army? Won’t that disable the stress scan within this building-
*beep*
“Eh?”
An alert came directly from Mashiro’s phone, cutting off her thought.
Even if it was just her imagination, the doctor seems to have slightly grin.
It was noticed from the ATHENA system, warning of her own stress level rosen by 4.34.
“Miss Mashiro?”
Hijikata asked after seeing Mashiro’s pale face for the first time.
“Yeah? Yeah.. sorry. It's something about work... “
Mashiro vaguely explained before packing up her belongings. She then walks over to Tatiana.
Tatiana turns over looking at her with the soulless eyes that resembles ones of a dead fish.
Holding her cold hands, Mashiro smiled as the sun shines into the room.
“How are you feeling?”
“...Who?”
She really doesn’t remember.
“Well, I’m Mashiro Fuyuki, nice to meet you, again.”
“Mahiro…”
“You’re going back already?”
Graf asks in slight disappointment, however he seems to understand. Mashiro walks to the door, passing by the doctor.
“Try to stay mentally healthy.. Young chancellor.”
The doctor creepily whispered as Mashiro passed by.
“You too... “
Mashiro replied without looking back at him.
Haruhabara-II, Edokyuuria crater
The capital of the United Kingdom’s anime and manga industry, Haruhabara has been rebuilt on a section of the reclaimed land just outside of the Arcology.
In the sea of electric cars, the was one that still runs on diesel.
“I don’t even know where we are going to find a gas station here if we run out of gas..”
Shinozaki complained as she drove. Marissa now with her hood on, covering her feline features is now looking at the new complex central district’s map.
“Shinyazaki. When you said Edokyuuria is a multilayer city hellscape, I didn’t expect this.”
Marissa complained, trying her hardest to assist Shinozaki in the rebuilt capital.
The unexpected guest, Ichihara Kana, a strange self proclaimed journalist started taking pictures of the scenery. Her face was full of curiosity like a child.
“Celestial five… isn’t that a famous university idol group that disbanded like 12 years ago after that certain terroris”
Shinozaki asks the childish but she was immediately cut off before she could finish.
“That’s not true! We’ve been traveling the nation performing lately!”
“Oh… is that so?”
Shinozaki replied, she isn’t much of an idol fan, its natural if she doesn’t know.
“Anyway where should we drop you off? We’re going to Haruhabara military police headquarters.”
Shinozaki asked as she made a turn to the indoor electronic street.
“Ummm, can you get me to Arcology entrance block N8L1?”
“No problem.”
URN Hakuhou N241, Naval Academy and Headquarters, Sieg-II
“She’s big.”
Inaban with a safety helmet commented on the Heavy aviation destroyer Hakuhou under construction.
“She surely is.”
One of her former students and New chief engineer Helena May next to her replied. They watch the second experimental nuclear reactor slowly being installed in the shipyard while other engineers are connecting the electric platings. A section of the CFRP hull is submerged in water to test the newly developed “Mask” device. One that generates bubbles to distract torpedo sensors as a last result.
As the two continue to admire the massive vessel, Inaban receives a phone call from the Naval Academy.
“Yeah?”
...
“What do you mean there’s a visitor from Feng standing in the front gate?”
Inaban left the shipyard and heads back to the academy to meet this unusual visitor.
The Daming Hall
“皇上驾到!” (All Hail Her Imperial Grace, Empress Taihe of Feng!)
A rustle of rich silken robes, the solemn platter of a thousand feet. And the entourage of the Empress herself climbed the stairs to the Daming Hall.
It was the largest and most powerful throne room within all 288 acres of the Yongan Palace, an ensemble of halls, gardens, and smaller palaces that graced Taijing’s centre. The Hall was one of the largest of its kind: 200 metres east to west, and 100 metres north to south, and 30 metres high. The guards at the doors knelt at the Empress’ coming, and opened its towering doors.
The Empress Arrives
She wore royal blue for Court, a multitude of embroidered flowers blooming upon the silk. Her hair, elaborately arranged, was studded with a flowers of pure, shining gold, inlaid with emeralds, rubies, and other precious stones. Two maids, richly robed, held sceptre-like fans of peacock feathers, while others behind held fans of silk. Another held above her an umbrella, which the maid put down and closed.
“恭請皇上聖金萬安” (Hail, Your Grace, Hail the Empress and Dynasty) The high courtiers of the Daming Hall knelt with the rustle of a thousand robes.
“起” (Arise) The Empress said with an elegant gesture. The officials stood and bowed their heads as the Empress crossed the hall’s length and seated herself on the golden throne.
“就位” (Please, sit) She urged. The courtiers bowed and took their seats.
The Grand Chambermaid, Hudie (蝴蝶), came forwards, in robes of emerald green and red.
“The stone is here, your grace.” She told. “Their retrievers await in the waiting chamber.”
“Well do show them in!” The Empress replied.
Hudie bowed her head. “传明玉,珍珠,莲心上殿!” (Summon Mingyu, Zhenzhu, and Lianxin to Court!) She sang out.
They waited for a few moments, the only sound being the gentle breeze.
Footsteps caught their attention; three ladies climbed the stairs of the Daming Hall, and in Mingyu’s hands was an ornate gilded tray covered in red silk. Surrounding them was a column of guards.
“微臣, 叩见皇上” (Your official does give your grace her most gracious greetings, your majesty) Mingyu told as she knelt, the others following her lead.
“Do arise.”
The three climbed to their feet.
“Your grace, our company does present the success of our task.” She lifted the silken shroud with flourish. The interior of the platter was cushioned, and resting upon was a brilliant orb of light. It was fiery as passion, red as the flowing blood of life in the veins. It was mysterious, bright, and majestic. And at it’s all within the hall could not help but open their mouths in shock, fall to their knees, and weep. “The one of the Six of Creation” The Empress said in wonder. “The Dynasty does thank most deeply from its heart.”
“Nay, your majesty.” Lianxin bowed her head. “The success is not completely our own.”
“Indeed, your grace.” Mingyu added. She looked at the Empress, a slight change in her expression telling the Empress a clear request.
“You all have my leave.” She smiled to the Court, who bowed and left. A grand procession of robed ministers, officials, and servants leaving in shimmering flashes of gold, silk, and jewels.
The Empress stood from the throne. “Do follow me.”
“If it please your grace.” The three chorused.
They left the main throne hall to a corridor at the sides. After a few moments they arrived at the inner audience chamber. She sat at a throne, a smaller size than the previous in the hall.
“Hudie, please do fetch us some tea.”
Hudie curtseyed and left.
“Guards, I do thank your all for your kind service. You shall be rewarded. Please do guard the doors outside, and knock thrice when Hudie arrives.
They bowed and left, closing the ornate doors behind them.
The Empress smiled at the three when they were left alone.
“We can speak freely here, the walls do not let a single sound out. You were saying?”
Mingyue bowed her head. “Our success is not completely our own, as it would not be possible without the most welcomed assistance of three Miotian agents of the SSS.”
“The SSS?” The Empress furrowed her brows. “Is that not merely a rumour?”
“More than a rumour, your grace.”
The Empress nodded. “Perhaps a token of gratitude be offered.”
“Discreetly however, I would think they would prefer to remain a secret.”
“Of course, of course.” The Empress returned a rebellious strand of hair to its place. “Let someone be sent, the Naval Academy of Seig-III perhaps. Let a gift be given to signify our gratitude.”
There were three knocks at the doors. The Empress looked up. “Hudie approaches. Come, let us discuss ways of transportation of the stone.”
“Transportation?”
“Yes, the Mingyue Palace is now built. And the stone is to be taken there.”
And pray that all goes to plan
Stories
A few veterans stories have been made infamous, specifically Marius Danila and Lieutenant Mikel Blaney. Marius saw himself in nearly ever battle but despite being only 19 years old he has kept his cool and spread his story. That isn't to say he's unaffected. The boy, now unofficially controlling the military, is said to start screaming in the middle of the night and will flinch severely at loud noises. On the other hand, Blaney was a special forces commando and was sent along with several others to investigate a Miotians compound. The Serpentean government has yet to identify exactly what happened but Blaney came out with severe depression due to the death or maiming of nearly all his comrades. His explosives expert Feroscu was found with no legs and in a comatose state which he has yet to recover from. Koretsk was found deceased, his cause of death unknown but his corpse horribly malformed. Albu was found alive and mostly unharmed but has severe trauma and says nothing coherent. Torescu is reported to have deserted the mission and has been dishonorably discharged. Blaney has moved to Edyokuuria and is working towards gaining citizenship.
Midquel 3
Block N4L2 Lobby, Senate Terminal Arcology, Edokyuuria crater
Mikel Blaney was certainly relieved the moment he saw the door of the crowded elevator opened. Office workers of sorts in suits quickly rushed out to head back after their lunch break.
Verteran Lieutenant Mikel Blaney of Serpenteum’s special force that survived the abandoned orphanage compound. He left the military, traumatized and decided to move to Edokyuuria following a suggestion by a frenemy he met during the operation, Sakamoto Ryoma, who seems to be on a mission to protect a strange girl, Marissa.
After the flesh and gore mass covered the compound were turned into plantation, creating the Spiral Tree Speranta Anomaly. The expansion and the restructuring of the miraculum cells formed a tunnel, allowing them to the surface. It was most likely Akko’s doing, that’s what Marissa insisted on. The moment they arrive at the surface, the war has stopped as the plantation continues to infest the wasteland destroying most of the United Kingdom’s Aragami security drones on the field. At the same time a compound of unknown within the pollen of the tree cured the Teardrop plague. It was that moment when both sides ceases fire. The tree could be seen anywhere in the United Kingdom after all.
“If you ever quit, come over to Edokyuuria, I’m sure I can get something to work with.”
That was what Sakamoto said, as he went on the chopper.
Stepping out of the newly installed elevator of the Edokyuuria Arcology, holograms could be seen everywhere simulating sceneries of pre-war Edokyuuria. In other words, a metropolis that reaches even beyond the horizon. Blaney has never been to Edokyuuria, he has only seen the city from television and other United Kingdom entertainment programs such as anime.
Despite the hologram covered hallway, different shops and government departments have hologram advertisements on their own. Making the scenery rather complicated, busy and somewhat annoying.
He walks over to the information center, asking direction for the immigration office within the ministry of foregin affair block.
Getting off the train, arriving to foregin affair block. Instead of holograms, the wall of the seven stories tall lobby was made of some sort of reinforced glass. There was even a door to the outer ringed balcony outside, where restaurants and cafes reside.
Blaney checks his ticket, there was still some time until when he is required to show up in the front office. He steps outside as everything turns to white due to the strong sun’s reflection onto the crater sea that last interrestial war has created. A single surviving Arcology above a small landmass at the center of world’s largest crater, and lake. Half submerged ruins of the former urban district could be seen near the shore of the Arcology. Four massive bridges stretch out to the shadows barely visible on the horizon. The wind was rather strong today, the flags of MoonBucks and WcDonalds could be seen blown straight toward the north.
He took out his binocular from his bag, a parting gift from the military. He then looks towards the shadows on the horizon with it. It was just a bunch of half submerged ruins. No land, the crater was clearly bigger than he expected.
Just how many people died here?
He thought. Remembering the holographic pre-war images of the capitol. Edokyuuria was destroyed by a Valrassari WMD about 9 months ago. The sole surviving structure was the mainframe of the Senate Terminal, now remodeled to an Arcology, due to the decreased population.
How many people made it out alive? The idea of tens of millions being incinerated within seconds has gotten his hand to shake in fear.
He decided this was enough, as he put away his binocular, a young woman crashed into him, pushing him to the ground, dropping the serpenteum military grade binocular to the ground, cracking one of the lens. At the same time, she dropped her glasses.
“I’m so sorry!”
She immediately apologized as she got up from him. Blaney slowly sits up, trying to absorb what just happened. A woman probably in her 30s picked up his binocular, including the shattered pieces. She brushes her brown long hair aside as she looks for her glasses. She was wearing a somewhat XXL size coat that was clearly not her size… she is giving off this clumsy type of person feeling.
“Oh- um- It’s fine.”
Blaney replied as he stood up with the support of the handrail on the side. She picks up her glasses from the ground and quickly puts it back on as if it was some sort of disguise.
“Ehhh…. Ehhh.. umm… well…… Right…”
Looking at the unique binocular model, it had an insignia of a snake engraved.
She thought for a moment and answered nervously.
“Here’s my contact. I’m sorry, but I’m currently in a hurry…… I’ll pay for the repairs.”
“Huh.. well… It’s fine-”
Before Blaney could reject her offer, the young woman just pushed her business card into his hand.
“I’m soooo sorry!”
Her apology could be heard as she ran off into the distance, toward the parking eastern parking block.
“....well.”
He muttered as he turned to the card in his hand. It was something that looked like a supermarket discount point card. She must’ve mixed it up.
“Seriously... “
Blaney sighed and put the point card into his wallet.
He waited outside until it was about time to enter the warrant office. Checking his phone as he sat at the waiting area, trying ignore the discriminating stares from the Miotian elderly next to him. And some gossip from the Candorian girls behind him.
That’s right, despite both governments being willing to work together again, the scars of war obviously haven't been healed on either side.
Blaney felt their stare could and gossiping could crush him any moment, hoping for his queue number to be called soon.
“No. 235 Please come to front desk 04”
Blaney was relieved when he heard the announcement. He quickly picks up his bag and left for the counter.
Their original forms were hunters. Endurance and cooperation came together to form a successful whole. This purpose has been exploited to damage them, to transform their bodies into the desired damaged shapes. Then their nature is denied- "He's perfectly harmless and docile, he will not attempt to herd your child and attack it if it does not comply," "He will not attack you, even though we have trained him to attack perceived threats." It is cruel to keep them solely indoors, and when loosed they decimate local wildlife. Convince your relations to not harm these animals in this way.
The result of this has been attacks- often deadly. As a thought- if someone informed you they owned a guard chimpanzee that only rips off the faces of people it interprets as a threat, and also it's a racist chimpanzee, would that make you want to accompany them to their home?
