 The Big Blue of MT2 | EMBASSY VOTE RESULT Five days ago The Communist Bloc requested embassies between our regions. A vote was held by registered Trenchians, either YES or NO to constructing embassies. The voting polls are now closed and the results have been tallied up. Becoming a Trenchian is a big step. You'll have certain privileges and rights here, and also several responsibilities to our region, which are outlined briefly below. Rights As a Trenchian, our Law guarantees you the right to vote in elections and referenda, participate in The MT Army Reserves, and run in elections for official positions, as well as granting you certain other legal rights. Our Government will also take whatever steps are necessary to help you if you are in need of it, and for the preservation of your rights both in Mariner Trench and abroad, to the extent that is appropriate with your involvement in other regions. Responsibilities At the same time, it is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with and do your best to abide by our Laws, which are, of course, in place only so that our community can function democratically, harmoniously, and with a high level of regional security. We'll also ask you to maintain a nation in our region and maintain a reasonable level of activity on Discord and our forums, as conditions for your Trenchianship. How does one become a Trenchian?  The MT Army Retired Leader of Vippertooth33 | Well it looks like Thanos absolutely blew all other villains away when it comes to the results of our most recent poll: "Who is the best Marvel Villain in the MCU?" Rightly so as well, Thanos cares about something bigger than himself. He doesn’t want power for power’s sake, or to achieve something that will lead to him being honored and revered; he wants to fix a real and horrible problem in the universe. Thanos saw firsthand on his own planet what happens when civilization recklessly exceeds its own limits. He saw it coming and was powerless to stop it, which is why he’s convinced he must help stop it from happening again. I am surprised however about the lack of love for the god of mischief himself, Loki. | |
| Earthly delights | Why is Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi such a bad movie? Here are some of the reasons, in no particular order: 1. Multiple continuity problems. The movie is set immeadiately after 7, but in-film reality shifts pretty radically between them. The New Republic has somehow ceased to exist, the First Order somehow controls the Galaxy, and the Resistance have become Rebels. Similarly, in 7 Kylo Ren is said to be the leader of The Knights of Ren- which then don't appear at all in 8. And then there's 3CPO's arm... 2. Screwing with Jedi mythology. I rather like the fact that in the later films, you don't need to be a blue-blood to be a jedi. However, I do take issue with the fact that you apparently don't need any training either. The same thing applies to the Dark Side- Snopes has full-blowh Sith powers but can't be a Sith since the Sith have been destroyed. 3. Extreme plot recycling. Yet another Death Star that needs to be destroyed by brave fighter pilots. Yawn.... 4. Plot incoherence. If Luke just went to the Jedi Temple to die, why leave an encrypted map to his location? It makes no sense at all. | |
