I agree completely with that statement. I saw some time ago a little "game" about that. Is one of those groups of pictures (two), that were a Choose your own adventure game. They give you some instructions and you sum bonus and rest malus for elections. It was for making a dystopia. Of course the It was kind of "neutral" as you could nuance in one way or the other (and basically just bashed nearly every political position, left and right). And yes, even real world "vainilla" Western countries could be in a sense put in them. Food for thought and a fountain of inspirations for role play.

Oh nice, I am a stellaris player, so politics are my forte. And even in NS I play as an Imperial because although I agree with a strong figurehead should be put in place to lead the country, I believe there should still be a sense of democracy inside of the system. So I default to a semi-constitutional Monarchy because it combines two systems that work decently well together and they balance each other out

I'm currently reading it, and it's very readable, which I like.

Ah I see, a space opera 4X lover, unfortunately I stepped out of other videogames sans Nation States long ago. I understand the reasoning behind, even more. Given the nature of NS to play sometimes with overly long in game RP and the strong emphasis on a leader taking control it is natural to think that way. In part I considered that when I renamed/rethemed my country giving the title of Chancellor to the Head of State and putting as a Republic. Yes it is a veiled nod to both Germany and Star Wars simultaneously although well it would be rather different.

And in respect to the advantages of a semi constitutional Republic, as in RL I live in a Constitutional Republic let's say that outside power metal themes and history issues, the concept and the practices I am quite opposed because I find it repugnant as a mask for all kinds of nepotism and arbitrary behind the facade of gravitas. Strong enough to carry into real life militancy in a (quite minority) left wing republican party (3 deputies out of 350 in our national Parliament in RL).

If you want I could find the cyoa (two pictures) and link it to you. (In private to not break the rules against hyperlinking , much without descriptions, and not to bother the other players)

Already sent, my apologies for the atrocious mistakes like Republic where Federation should be in place and Constitutional Republic instead of Constitutional Monarchy, apart from some minors one.

Have fun, everyone.
