Speaking somewhat more conceptually, I would not be entirely in favor of declaring any city as capital, regardless of location. Our lands are vast and untamed. The transient cities of our current sentient occupants could neither encompass nor properly represent the ideals that govern our union. It is the beating heart of a Forest, rather than the urban confines of a settlement, where our true capital lies.

I like this idea as well. Someone came up with the term "Governing City". Since the Founder isn't always about perhaps this could reside with the current Delegate and if ever a new Delegate should come into office then the City would reside in their nation.

Edit: another thought. Create a new nation and designate it a meeting place.

Cameroi

cameroi is not big on cities either.

we have precisely three population centers large enough to be considered one.
these are our space port complex, our major university cluster, and last, though most centrally located, our government and convention location.

instead our vast majority of population lives in tiny (but technically advanced) villages, each within walking distance of at least one other,
each indipendently representing the consensus of its inhabitants and linked primarily by infrastructure of very small form factor public transportation.

the only reasons we even have a national government is to protect the rights of individuals to relocate
if their village gets too extreme for their happiness and comfort,
the health and diversity of their natural surroundings,
and a network of infrastructure which respects that while serving everyone.

also to facilitate positive interaction with with other governments.
actually we don't go out of our way to form such relationships,
but do everything in our power to keep such relationships peaceful and mutually bennificial.

it is the intersection between infrastructure and environment that is almost the whole of our focus.
though civil liberties and technological innovation are also sources of pride and gratification.

economics only applies to nature recycling itself and its bennifits
and greatness is meaningless.

our principal thoughts about a regional center would be the infrastructure to get there. by teleportation booth or single-ship, if we're in a hurry, or by surface rail, or other guideway based public transit, or grav-sled, when we want to enjoy the scenery.

We have 30 Psychotic Dictatorships presently residing in Forest, which make up around 6.61% of our residents. At the time of the S2 card series, the global percentage was 6.12%, so out of all the government types there are, it's actually tied for second-closest to the global normal!

While those are in line with global norms, we do have a some pretty major variances here in Forest when compared with the global numbers from S2. Of the 27 types of government...

The top five where we exceed global norms are Liberal Democratic Socialists (2.98 times), Libertarian Police States (2.81 times), Left-wing Utopias (2.46 times), Scandinavian Liberal Paradises (1.82 times), and Democratic Socialists (1.77 times)

The top five where we are most below global norms are Capitalist Paradises (0.48 times), Corporate Bordellos (0.50 times), New York Times Democracies (0.53 times), Inoffensive Centrist Democracies (0.57 times), and Corporate Police States (0.60 times).

Our most "spot on" is Compulsory Consumerist States, for which we precisely match the global percent. Psychotic Dictatorships and Civil Rights Love Fests are tied for the next closest to normal, at 1.08 times normal each.

I didn't include calculations for the 7 government types we have fewer than 5 representatives of, as those numbers are just not big enough to be reliable.

Our total counts, as of this posting, are as follows:

65 Democratic Socialists 14.32%
58 Inoffensive Centrist Democracies 12.78%
43 Liberal Democratic Socialists 9.47%
38 Left-wing Utopias 8.37%
30 Psychotic Dictatorships 6.61%
29 Father or Mother Knows Best States 6.39%
28 Civil Rights Love Fests 6.17%
23 Iron Fist Consumerists 5.07%
18 New York Times Democracies 3.96%
17 Scandanavian Liberal Paradises 3.74%
14 Anarchies 3.08%
14 Left-Leaning College States 3.08%
12 Moralistic Democracies 2.64%
11 Authoritarian Democracies 2.42%
11 Corrupt Dictatorships 2.42%
7 Compulsory Consumerist States 1.54%
6 Capitalist Paradises 1.32%
6 Corporate Police States 1.32%
6 Libertarian Police States 1.32%
5 Corporate Bordellos 1.10%
4 Capitalizts 0.88%
2 Conservative Democracies 0.44%
2 Iron Fist Socialists 0.44%
2 Right-wing Utopias 0.44%
1 Benevolent Dictatorship 0.22%
1 Free-Market Paradise 0.22%

A decent number of issues-involved nations make their homes in Forest.

I'd go so far as to say it's the largest regional collection of issue authors, editors, and other issue players in the game currently. @Barael If you look at authors and editors of the issues you receive, you'll start to recognize a lot of Forestians.

Not much has happened here for a few days. Also, as the Diplomatic Root, I have the responsibility to check up on ambassadors. Unfortunately it seems you were not on any of the official lists of ambassadors, so would you please remind us of the region you are the ambassador to, and also please confirm if you wish to stay as the ambassador.

I think Gloriosya meant that they are the ambassador to Forest from another region, not the other way around. :P

Ohhhh. They didn't seem to mention in any of their factbooks that they are a puppet, nor do they have the symbol showing that they are from another region, so I assumed they were a Forester. Never mind

Edit: I’m really bored, and there haven’t been many big discussions for awhile. Could we decide on something to debate about?

The fact that there are quite a few Forestian issue writers and editors is what made me notice Forest in the first place. When I did finally look at Forest, I decided it was better than where I had first moved for me, and I've been here ever since.

Same tbh. I honestly wouldn't have joined Forest if any of these three factors weren't at play:
1) What little life my home region had was dying,
2) I wanted to expand the Forest Cabal of authors, and
3) I am a tree hugger.

Huh! I didn’t know this for sure, but I have suspected it for a long time. There are issue authors and dastardly editors lurking behind every tree in this region, methinks. Very suspicious. I am afraid that one of those creatures might sneak up on me and devour me. Ah, these issue authors are crawling all over me! Get them off, get them off! Eep! There’s an editor! There’s another one! What if I’m an editor? 😳

Dear friends,

I am very pleased to announce the newest (and likely long-standing) rendition of Ruinenlust's flag!

Another magnificent work by The Riparian Procyonid Republic of Raccoon Creek, this one incorporates elements of several of my older flags, all while being faithful to the overall theme. Can you spot the sneaky sun? Still there.

New elements include the fleur-de-lis, along with the evergreen tree and the wreath of stylized chestnut leaves and burrs.

The people of Ruinenlust are absolutely thrilled, and have sent many gifts of fish and other raccoon implements!

The pre-title has even been overtaken! :-D
