The TOP 3 most awaited for technologies were: 1) Space travel (related) with 15 votes. I should point out, just to clarify, that space travel itself has been around since the Apollo flights and moon-landings etc. It is nothing new in itself. For the purposes of this poll, however, we acknowledge important new developments and advances in Space-travel related technology, from better suits to better propulsion: Ion- and plasma based engines etc. Space Travel as a normality and a routine is ever closer to our lives and experiences. A day will come when we fly around in shuttles and space ships just as normally as we buy our train tickets and plain tickets or go on a cruise around the sevens seas. It will no longer be a luxury reserved for a very few specially chosen, it will not take entire national governments (of the biggest and most powerful nations) to send ships and men into space; it will not cost billions, and will be less of a spectacle, though no less important as a moment of evolution for man. This is the "newly emerging" space technology. One which will see mankind as a whole to be given the option to see the stars. As the vision of Elon Musk goes, we could send rockets from Earth to Mars, refuel those same rockets on Mars, launch them from Mars back to Earth...rinse and repeat. Back-and-forth travel with re-usable rockets that could land on Mars, refuel locally, and launch off to return to Earth. This would, in turn, make tickets much cheaper and promote colonialism. Both are elements important to the prosperity and well-being of a nation and its people, and as such, it is ideal to seek for a balance of industrious power and capacity and the diversity and preservation of the biosphere and its lifeforms. To seek, promote and install green-energy, with which to power the factories, is one solution. To decrease waste and to promote recycling is another, and so and so forth. Nature is a cross-generational heritage, a backdrop to our identity, the lifeforce of the soil from which we root. Is this lifeforce harsh and arid, like in the deserts and mountains? Is this lifeforce lush and humid like in the tropics? And how would such realities affect the soul and the body? The Character and composition of a man. For the man of the tropics, does he keep himself hidden and his thoughts and motivations a secret well-guarded? Like the leaves and branches of the trees of the jungle hide many critters big or small. For the man of the desert, the tundra, the mountains and the savannah, he has no cover, he shows what he has. Must he be strong to tame his nakedness? Regardless of the answers to these questions, much of who we are is affected by the surroundings we associate ourselves with.
