CK looked at the lanyard and was clearly not amused.

He placed down the blueprints and folder on the desk and said "We need you to make some stuff for us. It's a matter of galactic survival." At the same time, the air on either side of CK shimmered slightly, giving an extremely subtle hint to the presence of the two heavily armed cloaked Cicada agents acting as CK's body guards.
The blueprints were for a 25 meter long astral adamantium spear, large enough for a giant robot to use it. The handle had a few points on it that allowed for things to be attached to it. The folder contained heavily edited and redacted documents on the CEVA and Telamon's Spear projects. There was just enough information in the documents to show that the spears were intended to be used as weapons against Iblion, the spears being wielded as... spears by a giant robot for the CEVA Project, and being used as faster than light projectiles for the Telamon's Spear Project. Across both projects, a total of 10 spears are required.

The lady in question noticed this disturbance, and shifted slightly to the right in her chair as she lent forward to grasp the document. She reviewed them long and thoughtfully. She frowned as she looked them over and rolled her eyes.

"Wow," she said, her voice sarcastic and annoyed, "thanks for being so transparent with us, really helps a lot."

"It's a matter of national security, to ensure no hostile nations-"

"Newsflash pal, we're not a nation, we're just a bunch of people chilling in the industrial district and getting rich; the scrap gotta flow."

She looked the documents over.

"Why spears? why not smaller...like...knife things...or a sword." She asked.

"Read the document on the Celestial." The Commander said.

The woman chuckled and murmured briefly; "or what you'll let me read."

She reviewed the pages and nodded as if to say "fair enough". She continued to review the pages. As she did so, the Cicada commander couldn't help but notice out the window that everyone in the cubicles was currently standing up and priming weapons of various sorts; Aerlanican Coilguns, Roxium plasma rifles and pistols, Primaeri plasma rifles and pistols. All of them were covered with augmentations, possibly to make them compatible with the Scrap Rat's infrastructure.

It appeared that the woman had noticed the guards, but was not hostile...

...yet.

The woman finished reading and sighed.

"First of all, your plan for a faster than light spear is just stupid; you'll waste Astral Adamantium, and by the sound of things, skewer every damn planet and celestial body...as in the things in space...in it's path, so good luck footing the bill for damages in that regard."

She tapped the schematic of the spear.

"Secondly, your spear design is stupid; we're not going to make this, we're going to make one with barbs that catches and doesnt budge so the blighter gets KO'd with a good hit."

"Thirdly...what's with the miasma beside you?" She asked, gesturing to the Commander's flanks."

I suppose then...I would like someone with intelligence. Not knowledge per se, as that can always be gained with time, but intelligence in...the proficiency and desire to think. I didn't see much of that in that village, and perhaps it was all the better that nobody there cared to question me, lest it threaten my survival."

Space

Cicada-21 methodically begins picking apart the Desujuhoshi's control systems before discovering the mentions of an access code. It is also at this time that they finally figure out that Zoninite was the one who built it. Sure, they can try and reverse engineer the entire control system, but that would take time, time they fear they're low on due to the looming threat that is Iblion. It is instead decided that they'll find the access code themselves, or rather, have Cicada-19 do it for them.

Seeing as a bunch of ships were seen leaving the solar system, they decide to stealthily follow them along with the Oaterian vessel.

Some time later, a Roxium fleet begins following the Zoninite ships and Oaterian ship from a distance.

"Roxium Ships- What business do you have following our ship? Are you carrying out protection? If so you may dismiss yourself, we need no guard. Over."

The people who become witches, what would they otherwise be? Farmers? Wives? Queens in some temporary kingdom? Little more than breeding stock and jewels for their husbands, no doubt. Is being a witch and contributing a body of knowledge, honor, and continuing society not the better option?"

Scrap Rats

"First off, I'm not the one that came up with these plans. The ones responsible for coming up with them are above me on the pecking order. Second..." says CK before pulling out a marker. "I'll allow you to make modifications to the spears, as long as you stick to these parameters." CK proceeds to mark out bits on the blueprints that cannot be changed, those being the spear's size, the various attachment points on its handle, and the sizing tolerance, in red. The sizing tolerance, or how far off from the specified size the various parts of the spear can be, is only 2 millimeters. "Thirdly, Cicada has made a number of enemies over its 1,500 Augustan years of existence, so its commanders always have a security detail." says CK, giving a hint that the shimmering air is part of said security detail. "I would much rather have this conversation remain peaceful, so please lower your weapons." By this point, the air has stopped shimmering. The two heavily armed Cicada agents are still cloaked, and have their weapons on standby.

Solar system Falgon-Theta 9

Even before the Desujuhoshi (The Gun) tried to fire, Cicada-21 already knew to avoid its firing line at all costs. Work on replacing The Gun's control system is already underway, with the goal of making it easy to adjust and fine-tune how powerful its shots are and having a "Kill Switch" that can abort the firing sequence as quickly as possible. New mana-conductive wiring is being installed that will eventually replace the already existing wires used for the control system.
Other modifications have already been completed, such as the addition of Roxium mana barrier magitek, new rift-band com-link emitters and receivers, and graviton mass field generators (Artificial gravity). All these are NOT connected to the already existing control system, meaning the mysterious man is unable to mess with that stuff. This stuff is connected to an entirely separate magitek-based control system.

The Oaterian ship

The transmission that contained the firing command was rather quickly traced back to the Oaterian ship.

The Oaterian ship's message seems to have been completely ignored. The Roxium fleet is a few thousand kilometers away, the distance making it hard to see them. From the hanger of one of the ships, a cloaked Cicada shuttle emerges. Over the next 30 or so minutes, the Oaterian seemingly slows down for unknown reasons. Unbeknownst to them, one of the Roxium ships has deployed a "low power" graviton tether, using it to slow down the Oaterian ship just enough for the cloaked Cicada shuttle to catch up. As soon as the Cicada shuttle got to within a kilometer, the graviton tether begins ramping down before switching off entirely.

Being cloaked, the Cicada shuttle was pretty much undetectable. It pulled up next to the Oaterian ship. As this is space, both the ship and shuttle are still moving, though to the ship, the shuttle appears to be stationary. This is because the shuttle's speed relative to the ship is 0. The shuttle slowly approaches one of the ship's airlocks before opening its side hatch and letting a group of cloaked Cicada agents out. The agents proceed to grab on to the airlock and force it to begin cycling.

Things only got weirder from there. The cat continued to shapeshift as it twisted and turned in its sleep, with parts of its body taking on the forms of different animals. The fur shifted to feathers and then to scales. Most shifted back to fur, but scales remained on the face. Coloration patterns changed as well, from simple solid colors to stripes, dots, swirls, rainbows, until it settled onto a blue head and neck and yellow-red striping everywhere else. Cat legs changed to wings, then flippers, and a few other forms before stopping at human arms and legs. The torso also changed, taking on the shape of a human, as did the head, and clothes appeared. In the end, Luca and Isabelle saw the form of a human girl, perhaps fifteen years old, wearing what looked to be a high-quality witch costume, albeit with boots that looked fit for hiking on rough terrain. She wore a black dress with a long loose skirt, and a few red highlights. She also wore a brown leather satchel. Her hair was black and ran a little past the shoulders, but her face remained blue and scale-covered. She kept some other animal features, including fur-covered cat ears poking between her hair, the yellow-red striped fur on her torso, arms, and legs, a dog's tail, and yellow cat eyes.

The girl continued to toss in her sleep and even began to murmur strange words that were hard to hear but sounded distressed, as though she were having a nightmare.

The thing the RACGS Lunar Tide found was the remnants of some kind of ship or creature resting on the seafloor. Blood and floating debris litter the waters above it. Among the floating debris is fragments of flesh and bone mixed in with pieces of metal and what seem to be ship components. The creature/ship thing itself appeared to be either a whale or bird of roughly 1,900 meters in length with a 950 meter wingspan that has been turned into what seems to be a living ship. One of the wings seems to have been blown apart as parts of it are scattered about the surrounding seafloor. The main body appears to have been partially split in two and the remaining wing is almost completely separated from it, being only attached by severely damaged and deform metal struts. Part of the main body has been caved in by... something.

There are no detectable vital signs, meaning it is completely dead.

Over the next few hours, the eastern shore of Ka’houpe’okan Island is closed off to the public, and the port of Kotawafikai is shutdown as the Coast Guard sections off the waters around the fallen beast.
From the RACGS Lunar Tide, a smaller vessel driven mechanically and attached to her mother vessel via a chain is the LTD Sea Rose. The small submarine is sent down to investigate further as the information is sent back and forth between the rest of the Republic’s armed forces.

Tyramon wrote:Things only got weirder from there.

Lucas just watches in fascination, as Isabelle gets up to go get some food and water for when she wakes up.

(We can use Casey, my little ghost boy)

Macy smiles and looks at their son. “Wow... he’s a lot smaller than I thought he would be...”

Noelle smiles brightly and brings the camera in closer to Kara’s face.

Kira eats the food with a smile. “So... what do you think?”

(Sounds good. I kept meaning to ask about him lol. We can definitely use him, that works out perfectly ;P)

The girl tosses and turns some more before eventually shooting up and waking from a nightmare.
"Spencer!" she yells. She looks around for a moment, disoriented. She makes eye contact with Luca and pauses. She lifts a hand to feel her face.
"Oh...oh no...uh...hi..."

After some time, Sarah begrudgingly accepts to take visitors, giving a shrug. Her seeming apathy about food necessitated an IV drip, and there was some discussion about the state of her mental health.

Azulakas tenses up when Rei takes notice of her early departure, glancing back at the trio as Kansas speaks. She takes a deep breath, seemingly calming her nerves, "Yes.. that'll work." she responds, a lingering tone in her voice. With that she darts out into the hallway, fists loosening up as she carried on with her day. Though as time passes, the tanned lass feels the shadow of dread come over her.
What if this was a mistake...?

Azulakas was a lass who often appeared alone, preferring to stay in the least populated corners of classrooms and often keeping to herself. Outside of class, only glimpses of the dark-haired woman could be seen, often disappearing to her home or to who knows where else, and often times, when approached by others or bumping into her results in a glare of death from her deep blue eyes and less commonly a blown temper that results in harsh words and maybe concussion as she forgets her own strength. Those who knew her in high-school know of the force she could be when pushed past the point of irritation though she does seem to have learned to control her temper somewhat, cementing her reputation as that of a lone wolf with an unattractive aura of irritability.

Thus, this little encounter between North South North West Kansas, Rei Khan, and New Drachma with her may be taken as a bit odd in nature.

"Within reason," she added, "of course, there should be some minor nudges in the right direction; of course if Spencer sided with Iblion it would most likely be the fall of Augusta...and the universe proper..."

She nodded.
"Yes, self-autonomy to a certain degree is what i believe in."

She shifted.
"Not like it matters, anyway. Just let whatever person who wants to visit come along..."
