Ok boys and girls, here's the deal. I'm going to be busier than a one armed paper hanger for the next six to ten weeks.

I'll be checking in as often as possible. So think of me as temporarily busy, but not dead.

Had no idea. Never hit the site from the phone.

Alright, this is war! Someone got into my rental car last night and ripped off my stash of Girl Scout Cookies. We are talking scorched earth, nothing but death and burnt wasteland in my wake.

Oh yeah, they also took a cell phone charger, cell phone holder, some lessor munchies, and a USB stick full of books on tape.

you leave it unlocked accidently or something?

I really don't think I left it unlocked. I kind of remember the lock-honk. However with so automatic when one parks a car, I honestly could not swear to it.

That said after watching the Pop-a-Lock guy open one of those mini SUV's last week, I really do not think a locked vehicle is all that secure.

Can someone explain to me how canceling Pepe Le Pew is going to solve any problems?

Ancapadonia

Xyanth wrote:Can someone explain to me how canceling Pepe Le Pew is going to solve any problems?

The thought process is that anyone or anything that has ever behaved or uttered something defined by the woke mob as "racist," "sexist," "homo/transphobic," etc. must be "cancelled" if they are still living, or censored and ideally erased from culture/society if they are from the past, so as not to offend the delicate sensibilities of the woke mob and the people they claim to support (regardless if those people are actually offended or not).

For the woke mob, the "problem" is that Pepe Le Pew exists at all. He is both a symbol of so-called "rape culture" thanks to his frequent sexual harassment, and an ugly stereotype of French people.

In reality, Pepe Le Pew is just a cartoon animal that pokes fun at the stereotypical French "ladies' man." The cartoons do not promote his behavior -  on the contrary, the cat he usually pursues almost always reacts negatively to his advances, up to and including using violence to deter him. To the best of my knowledge, he is never successful in his attempts at "romance." On several occasions, the tables are turned on Pepe, and he receives the same treatment from the cat that he gives to her, which he is uncomfortable with. If anything, the cartoons' message is "This is the wrong way to treat females," and thus "cancelling" them is actually going AGAINST the woke mob's stated goals.

Of course, rational thinking had never been the woke mob's strong suit. They see something they don't like, and want it gone by any means necessary.

So... In other words, thought control.

The Pirates of Xyanth

This thing with canceling Pepe Le Pew is really gaining a lot of steam.[1] The pubic debate seems to be growing even hotter than whether or not Hunter's laptop is relevant. So there is a new poll up. Enjoy.

Subject: poll.

The problem is not that Pepe le Pew is "rapey". The problem is that Pepe le Pew is the wrong Frenchman. French people aren't stinky!

I watched Looney Tunes since i was a kid and the first Space Jam movie and i didn't ever noticed Pepe le Pew much, he's a secondary character and hardly the first thing coming to mind with Looney Tunes. Cancelling him was grossly exaggerated. It's not like the show relied on his romantic advances anyway.
I never noticed the points that liberals wanted to cancel, when you watch a movie you just do it for fun without having to think deeply of any small action, whenever the actions of some characters means something or not should be on the shoulder of academic research and informal ethical and philosophical discussions, just like there is research on the economy od Wakanda, definitively don't have to cancel it.

The AstraZeneca's COVID Vaccine hasn't been approved in the US yet.

Recently, it has been suspended in France, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Congo, Thailand, Romania, Iceland, Denmark, Austria and Norway following cases of blood clots and blue dots and more side effects.

The vaccine itself, unlike the others, it's made from a weakened version of the common flu with the genetic resemblance of the COVID 19.

It's also considered very uneffective with the variants with around 10-20% effectiveness, however, it prevents hospitalization and the most serious cases of the virus.

It was purchased by the EU because it's the cheapest COVID 19 vaccine and the company offered a price discount per dose of the vaccine.

Some people reports 38.5° fever after taking the vaccine and some chose to get sick leave days.

What's your opinion? Is there any doctor or researcher here to explain?

Wasn't Pepe Le Pew in love with a male cat that he mistaken for a female skunk?

Landlordia

Nevermind, just found out the cat's name was Penelope. However it was just a cartoon and honestly he wasn't the most memorable anyway. Also I'm pretty sure everyone looked at Pepe Le Pew as weird or ridiculous for mistaking a cat as a skunk and the cat clearly showing that she did like him by running away from him.

I think anyone who missed the lesson that Pepe Le Pew was supposed to be ridiculed, not praised, was obviously not paying attention.

It is nice to see that in this one issue, the poll is only showing four small fascists from the cancel culture.
