If it behooves the Ministry of Research, all beef and dairy products are quite rare in Glengo as it is a mountainous island with a preference for chicken, pigs, and marine animals. The cows we do keep are treated similarly to Wagyu and Kobe cows. Additionally, the populous has not developed a yen for imported cheese.

At least what I've gleaned from my international relations studies. Throughout history you can have periods of cooperation and periods of competition, but these tend to be a cycle with no definite end. To actually get world peace I would think it has to be what I said above, or some kind of tangible external threat (aliens or some sh*t) to actually get total peace between nations with no incentive to defect.

basically the problem is people think different things about how things ought to be so there will always be disagreement which means conflict which means war

evil aliens would probably bring about world peace (for the most part), but that is just because of the bigger conflict

even with a super-nuke or something you will still probably have war because eventually someone with some power is going to decide that some cause is worth dying for — the world is just too big for everyone to agree with everyone
