The Greater Empire of Lower Nubia | Economy Update Apologies for this highly irregular economic time for Africa's many economies. Although traditionally the economy information comes out on the 1st of each month (barring the NS shutdown in May) IRL duties have delayed the economy info and several updates. This is being rectified for the September update, which will be coming out within 2 days, with normal economy updates being returned back to the 1st of each month. Only mapped nations will be given an economy update. So please contact the relevant admins for submitting a map application. Apologies for the delay. Bless the rains! - LN. The Liberated Society of Vaspartama | VASPARTAMA F O R W A D Why am I running? I love Africa. This region has been like a home away from home for me for the past four years as Katanga vristaadt, Mexico trigarante, Newstettin, and Vaspartama, among others. I want the best for the region and for every nation in it. I wrote a heartfelt recruitment telegram for Africa in 2020 that was a mainstay of one of the most successful recruitment pushes in African history, where I detailed my personal reasons for loving Africa, including a thriving roleplay, friendly staff, and a vibrant and diverse community. Those reasons have not changed. What experience do I have? Until last year, I was part of Mombombu's staff. I made the (old) regional Discord when I first joined Africa and was in charge of everything from recruitment telegrams to roleplay moderation during the four years. Why am I no longer a part of staff? I've had some disagreements with Mombombu in the past and the staff has found replacements for the functions I did. It's a shame, because my loyalty has never wavered, but you play with the cards you've been dealt. What are my promises? This won't be a popular message, but neither I nor anyone else can really change much. The staff do things a certain way and don't want to change that. These elections are a way to let off steam because tension has been building between roleplayers and the staff about the decisions that they've made among themselves. I've been among them long enough to know how things work. (I'm not saying they're wrong to do so; if you're a part of the region, you accept the way things are done.) Anyone who is promising a lot of stuff is either lying through their teeth, has no experience with Africa's regional government, or is in the pockets of the staff. You know who the lackeys are and what they have to gain by claiming everything is just peachy. I've been wounded before and so have you, and my big promise is that I will stick up for everyone who feels like their best interests haven't been represented. As far as the role of WAD goes, I'll execute it as best as I can in the best interests of the region, but the reason you should elect me is to see someone with experience in the staff who still cares about the little guy. What do I see as the failures of the region as it stands? The biggest problem is that nothing's happening that should be happening. The staff claims everything is fine, but war mods and other roleplay-related things just aren't getting done and the staff makes mind-bogglingly biased decisions. This campaign operates on three main principles: 1) Just because you say you're doing something in private doesn't mean that the region sees things getting done, and that's what matters. 2) Laws may be fair and enforced by impartial actors and still result in bias if applied circumstantially. 3) The staff is insular and incestuous (isolated from the community and working mostly for each others' benefit) to the detriment of roleplayers. If you feel like one or all of these things have hurt you, then my campaign is designed for you. Why me? Why not the other candidates? Bro Kinaba is a great mod with lots of skills and knowledge. He is also slimy and perfidious. I stuck my neck out for him when he was expelled from the region and he brought down the axe himself. Hence why he's where he is right now and why I am where I am. He's a swamp creature who shouldn't be elevated to such a position. Moreover, he's in the current staff's pockets more than anyone else. I have nothing bad to say about Lunar sand. I think he's identified the same problems I have and wants to represent the downtrodden just as much as I do. However, he has no experience in Africa's staff and doesn't know how things work. Mesothallania may be making an ass of himself on the Discord in decrying Lunar sand's campaign, but he is right that things work a certain way and that going against the grain is unlikely to result in success. Roentgenia has been roleplaying in Africa for a grand total of two days (I don't know if he has any previous nations here, haha). Again, I have experience on staff but have also been burned by them (very recently, too). Roentgenia hasn't experienced that... I mean, is a nation that starts roleplaying the week of WAD elections really a roleplayer at all? Navoj Dazpoly is a great roleplayer and very active despite his recency. There's nothing to complain about. Again, he hasn't actually been on the staff before, although he is exactly the kind of person who would excel there. All the same, does he have a reason to care about the beleaguered nations who have suffered from maladministration? Not really. What will I do that the other candidates can't? Besides having experience on staff which gives me an insight into the region that the others except for Bro Kinaba lack, I have a very close relationship to India and will strengthen The Raindrop Pact cooperation and bonds. Full-Time Score: Springboks 49 - 29 Aurarian Titan's Commentator's Analysis: Commentator 1: "The Springboks showed their true colors today. After going down early, they displayed grit, power, and precision to overcome the Titan's. Seven tries in total, showcasing their world-class finishing ability." Commentator 2: "Lunar sand started well, but their defense couldn't hold up under pressure. They missed crucial tackles, and that penalty in the second half really hurt them. Transvaall took full advantage of every opportunity and Cheslin Kolbe was electric today, with several key plays, including two brilliant line breaks that led to tries. Deservedly, he’s been named Man of the Match." Commentator 1: "Absolutely, But the turning point was definitely the Springboks' ability to break through the Titan's line after halftime. Lunar sand was on the back foot, and once the Boks found their rhythm, there was no stopping them." Commentator 2: "Yeah, it was certainly a well-deserved victory for Transvaall. The Titan's gave a fierce and strong resistance but the Springboks are just to experienced in high-pressure moments that a comeback was possible, once the Titan's saw this their discipline and morale declined far too quickly, this should be noted by their head coach, Pierre Laurent." Match Summary: The Springboks secured a commanding victory over France in a thrilling encounter at the FNB Stadium, winning 49-29. Lunar sand took an early lead with three tries in the first half, but Transvaall roared back with seven tries, showcasing their relentless attacking prowess. Key moments of the game included the Titan’s struggles in defense and the Springboks capitalizing on multiple line breaks and penalties conceded. Both sides showed flashes of brilliance, but the Springboks’s power and tactical discipline overwhelmed the Titan's in the end. The United States of Mesothallania | From the Office of World Assembly Delegate Greetings, Hujambo, I, the United States of Mesothallania, current incumbent of the Office for World Assembly Delegate for the region of Africa, am hereforth officially declaring my intention to campaign for the Office for World Assembly Delegate, once again, for a second term. - From the Desk of the Delegate - United States of Mesothallania UNPRETENTIOUS, STABLE, MASTERFUL Hujambo! Many mistakenly believe that the Office of the World Assembly Delegate is a position of power, of change, of leadership. It is not. Before my election, I was just like you, thinking that it is a simple role that can be performed by anyone elected. But it is more than just voting and representing. The Delegate: DOES NOT concern itself with posting roleplays regularly, that is a job for any and every citizen; DOES NOT concern itself with running the African Council, that is a job for the leadership of all related moderators and executives; DOES NOT concern itself with creating and maintaining server events and activities, that is the job for the Roleplay Officers and Propaganda Creators; DOES NOT concern itself with defending and attacking (liberating) regions, that is a job for the Joint Military Specialists; DOES NOT concern itself with immigration policy, that is a job for the moderating committee to jointly deliberate on; DOES NOT concern itself with making a show of what duties were performed while in Office, as it is both boastful and unprofessional and can inadvertently leak secrets without proper authorization; and OH, HOW WE ARE BLIND TO WHAT A DELEGATE IS UNTIL YOU ARE ONE. The Delegate: DOES concern itself with foreign policy, making sure that allies’ regions interests align with our own; DOES concern itself with adding and removing embassies, in line with Africa’s foreign policy, DOES concern itself with evaluating and investigating those in violation of the immigration policy, alongside an assigned moderating committee; DOES concern itself with cultivating international relationships with other regions, as it is a diplomatic role; DOES support the Executor in pushing forward policies regarding the roles and functions of the Delegate as well as how Africa presents itself abroad; DOES mediate and negotiate between the African Administration and foreign entities, thus requiring a cool demeanor, diplomatic sense, and readily available solutions; DOES do anything else required of the position as dictated and requested of/by the Executor that falls within the function of the World Assembly Delegate Office. I do not expect those who never experienced the role of the NS Africa World Assembly Delegate to understand the nuances and intricacies of the role. Ultimately, this role is about trust. Trust in knowing that the candidate-elect performs discretely without hiccup. Who do you trust? UNPRETENTIOUS .
Bless the Rains, You can expect my Campaign Dispatch to be updated as the campaigning goes forth, showing how evolving questions must provide evolving solutions, and of course informing you of particular key interests and/or points that are commonly being discussed. I will gladly answer any and all questions you may have via telegram and/or Discord, and I look forwards to campaigning against and debating with my fellow candidates in this next election. The Democratic States of Bro Kinaba | Now that it's campaign time, no better than to say what is different from me and the other candidates and what I think of them! Mesothallania now I respect our delegate, but. He doesn't and didn't add anything new to the table, he says he knows what a delegate does, but where was he when Alcris fell apart? A raindrop treaty member that I predicted would fall, he also never told the region what happened to them? Curious. He doesn't believe in collective voices for foreign policy, but not by choice I suspect, but because he is too old! How can you expect someone with a irl 8-5 to do all the activities of a delegate? He also only added members to the raindrop pact that brought us down overall. I plan to add regions such as New West Conifer as they are a amazingly active region! Now, who else talks about foreign policy? Isn't that the job of a delegate? I will admit that Mesothallanias post was a much-needed update to the citizens... To my knowledge in being a delegate! Vaspartama there are many words I can say about her, and most of them would be true, just like Cisplatinaa she can't stop making alts and giving up on the nations, her rp is top quality, but can't she just stick to one? And also there's plenty of stuff I know about her that I cannot comment on. But I do know her security policies, and I'm not joking, she would get us raided. If she became delegate this region would be raided within months, also if she does get elected you can expect Transvaall, Bro Kinaba and maybe other mods removed. Do not let us elect one more Sovereign State Of Khalistan. The entirety of NS does not need one more Ardenia. And she talks about the mods being bad! At least when they ran a discord it didn't get raided and deleted within 2 hours. Lunar sand, let's first say it was out of Mombombu's endless kindness you can even run after what you did. Do you think all those insults you post on the discord, and even more so that unprofessional language, will get ANY regions to build embassies with us? I challenge voters to see his language on the discord. Roentgenia, I say this kindly. You are a small fish in a big pond, I do hope you do not take votes from any nations, as I heavily doubt you can even run if you are not in the discord. But I do always appreciate the willingness to run. Navoj Dazpoly is the same issue as Lunar sand but. He has a heart, that's a lot more to say than lunar sand, and I could see him improving his diplomatic language. I do say, If you don't want to vote for me, because of personal reasons, but you want a face that is new and trustworthy, vote for Navoj Dazpoly but don't expect any new foreign embassies to be formed because of him. But this is why you should vote for me and not them. It's important that the good guys win. And not people who will destroy what we and I spent years building.
The Smirnoff of Navoj Dazpoly | Alright. I'm gonna try to be as respectful as political campaigning can get. Lets start off with the least likely,Roentgenia. You've barely been roleplaying for a few days, and with all due respect, I can't see you in charge of this region within this year. I do believe you have potential. Also, losing your password within a 3 day interval of your nation existing isn't the best look. Then, heres a big candidate. Lunar sand. If you've seen the discord, his tone is not appreciated, at all. Not to mention the alts he made. Hadn't Mombombu (or in bk slang Monbuto) been so kind, I doubt you'd even be in this region. Speaking of nations with criminal histories, lets talk about Bro Kinaba. I do believe they are the most dedicated nation to their roleplay here, but can you REALLY trust a nation who was BANNED from the World Assembly, AND the region itself? Now lets talk about the past delegate, Mesothallania. You have great gall to talk about the duties of a WA Delegate, when nobody sees you fulfilling them, eh? You've done a lot for the community, but take a second to think "Why do the others call me inactive?". I don't have much to say about Vaspartama. They've also had an issue with inactivity, and have according to my understanding, switched nations a lot of times, and have made multiple alts. I guess their roleplaying style is quite unique, but if you dislike the moderators, first think who could even do a better job than them? This is the best pool we'll get. And you really do a good job on defaming Bro Kinaba, I'm sure that will give you positive retention from all angles. If you vote me for DELEGATE, you will have a fresh face with good roleplay, good activity and zero criminal record in charge. And if you have to ask for more, you might aswell ask all of NationStates for interviews. Being a delegate is not about roleplay capabilities or how long you've been in the region. It's about being a shining example for newcomers to the region, it's about establishing and improving foreign and internal relations above and beyond. Bless the rains,

The Empire of Lunar sand | Revive the Region! Alright, folks, let’s get real. We’ve got a lot of names in the race, but I’m here to tell you why I’m your best bet. Let’s break it down, simple and straight. ◌ First off, Roentgenia I appreciate your willingness to run, but with all due respect, I can’t see you in charge of this region within this year. You’ve barely been roleplaying for a few days, and losing your password within a three-day interval of your nation’s existence isn’t the best look. ◌ Now, let’s talk about the main problem (not a compliment) Bro Kinaba. Sure, they’re dedicated to their roleplay, but let’s be honest—can we really trust someone with a history of being banned from the World Assembly and their own region? It raises a lot of eyebrows. There’s a vibe that just doesn’t sit right. Honestly, they might even be on the autism spectrum, and that’s not a jab; it’s a concern. It makes you wonder if they have the social skills and judgment to handle the complexities of leadership. We need a leader who can connect with people, not someone who seems more comfortable hiding behind a screen. ◌ Now, moving on to Navoj Dazpoly . He talks a big game, but when you scratch the surface, it’s clear he’s not cut out for this role. Sure, he’s got a "good heart" , but that’s about it. "Good intentions don’t fix a broken fence." He’s all talk and no action, folks! He’s more focused on playing nice than actually getting things done. How can we trust someone who prioritizes their image over meaningful contributions? Plus, have you seen his take on foreign relations? It’s like he’s in a completely different universe. If he becomes delegate, expect nothing new or exciting. ◌ Now, Mesothallania , our old delegate? Well, you’ve heard it before: "The proof’s in the pudding." Where was he when things started to fall apart? Sometimes, being present is half the battle. And let’s be honest—this isn’t exactly a region known for its stellar track record. ◌ Lastly,Vaspartama —there might be some creativity there, but let’s be honest, we need someone reliable. A fresh perspective is nice, but it’s not enough when it comes to leadership. Now, here’s why I’m your guy: ● Yes, I’ve only been here a few months, but guess what? "It’s not the years, it’s the mileage." In this short time, I’ve been active, involved, and committed. I’m not here to sit on the sidelines. ● People say my language is rough. Well, let me be straight with you: I’m not here to sweet-talk anyone. I get things done. And if you think a few blunt words will stop me from making deals, you’re in for a surprise. I’ll tell it like it is—and that’s how you get respect. ● I don’t sugarcoat things, but you can always count on me to get the job done. "Better a straight answer than a sweet lie," right? ●I’ll improve our foreign relations, and while everyone seems to care about that, I’m just as interested in our internal matters. I’ll always be present to help, listen, and discuss what matters to you. So, when you’re casting your vote, remember: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I’m ready to lead, and I’ll keep things moving in the right direction. -Lunar Sand (aurarian empire)
The African Republic of Mombombu | I don’t love the negative tone of the campaign thus far. What I would love is to hear more about how the candidates will work with myself and the other members of council to improve the region. The candidates must be aware that I, and the African people, are watching. As always, I have faith in the people of Africa that they will deliver the correct verdict.
