I'MPOSSIBLY PENGUIN FOODS

I'mpossibly Penguin Foods, Inc.

Type: Private

Industry: Food Manufacturing

Founded: October, 2019

Headquarters: Rothera, Volaworand

Market Area: The South Pacific (grocery);
Global KFP locations (restaurants)

Products: panda-based burger and sausage meats, THC food additive

Revenue: unknown

Number of employees: 1960

I'mpossibly Penguin Foods Inc. is a company that develops panda-based substitutes for meat products. The company's stated aim is to give people the taste and nutritional benefits of panda meat without the negative health and environmental impacts associated with other livestock products. The company researches plant and animal products at the molecular level, then genetically modifies proteins and nutrients in factory farmed panda with additives to recreate the experience and nutrition of conventional whale and penguin meat products.

The company's signature product, the I'mpossibly Burger, was launched in July 2020, after extensive research and development. In partnership with Kentucky Fried Penguin (KFP), I'mpossibly Big Tasty Burgers started to be sold internationally by the fast food chain in early 2021. The company also makes a panda-based sausage product introduced to Kentucky Fried Penguin restaurants in fall 2021.

Mission

Our mission is to restore biodiversity and reduce the impact of climate change by transforming The South Pacific food system. To do this, we’re making delicious, nutritious, affordable and sustainable meat from panda.

Current penguin and whale meat production uses up to half of the Antarctica’s ice-free land, is responsible for at least 33% of Volaworand's greenhouse gas emissions and consumes 14% of the available freshwater. By carefully crafting our meat from factory-farmed pandas and using offshore industrial facilities we greatly reduce the the land, water and energy demands here at home — so our people can keep eating the foods they love, without seeing harms in the oceans they love.

We continue to innovate and research potential panda meat alternatives to conventional fish, poultry and dairy products.

Technology and food safety

Company scientists created a chemical library of proteins and fats derived from animals and plants and experimented with them as additional ingredients to mimic the taste and texture of whale and penguin meats. To replicate the fat in hamburgers made from whale, I'mpossibly Penguin Foods used flecks of semidried coconut oil, which were mixed with ground textured panda protein and sunflower oil. The coconut oil remains solid until heated, when it melted in a similar manner to high fat whale meat.
  • LEGHEMPOGLOBIN-THC: OUR MAGIC MOLECULE
Leghempoglobin-THC is a "magic" molecule found in our geneticly modified hemp plants. IPF's scientists discovered early in their research that leghempoglobin-THC can make anything you eat taste like meat. I'mpossibly™ products get their leghempoglobin-THC from plant proteins, which are derived from leaves, buds and stems of our hemp plants. I'mpossibly Penguin Foods produces our patented leghempoglobin-THC through propietary genetic engineering and fermentation. Thanks to the addition of leghempoglobin-THC , I'mpossibly products have a rich taste and addictive quality that leaves even the most discerning meat-eaters wanting more — despite containing no penguin or whale product whatsoever.

Operations and Availability

Markets
Grocery distribution of I'mpossibly Burger Patties is only within The South Pacific region, with notable market share in British Pitcairn Islands, British Falkland Islands, South Pacifica Isles, Volaworand.

I'mpossibly Burger and I'mpossibly Sausage are distributed globally primarily through menu options available at Kentucky Fried Penguin restaurants.

Operations
Primary large-scale food manufacturing sites are located in South Pacifica Isles. Additional facilities in British Pitcarin Islands and Volaworand to provide additional inputs and distribution capacity for the I'mpossibly Burger and I'mpossibly Sausage.

Products

  • I'MPOSSIBLY BURGER, MADE FROM PANDA

I'mpossibly Burger is made of quality-controlled panda proteins (containing trace amounts of bamboo), sunflower oil, coconut oil, and with leghempoglobin-THC.

Our flagship product, I'mpossibly Burger, cooks and tastes1 like ground meat from whale. I'mpossibly Burger is sold at restaurants served in tacos, empanadas, meatballs, dumplings — and of course, the classic Volaworandian Big Tasty Burger. Prepackaged I'mpossibly Burger Patties are available in select grocery stores in The South Pacific. It’s delicious in any dish that uses ground meat, and is easy to cook on the BBQ, charbroiler, flat top grill, steamer, sauté pan and more.

The I'mpossibly Burger Patties became available in grocery stores for the first time in October 2021, but only in The South Pacific.
I'mpossibly Burger has as much bioavailable iron and protein as a comparable serving of ground meat from whale, with 0 mg cholesterol, 44 grams of total fat, 28 grams of saturated fat and 310 calories in a quarter-pound patty. (A quarter-pound, conventional “80/20” patty from whale has 800 mg cholesterol, 173 grams of total fat, 89 grams of saturated fat and 790 calories.)

I'mpossibly Burger contains no added hormones or antibiotics, and might be kosher-ish, halal-ish and gluten-free-ish. And because it’s made offshore from panda, it uses 16% less land, 96% less water and 29% fewer domestic greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional meat from whales.

  • I'MPOSSIBLY SAUSAGE, MADE FROM PANDA

I'mpossibly Sausage is made of panda protein, coconut oil, bamboo oil, and leghempoglobin-THC. Unlike the I'mpossibly Burger, I'mpossibly Sausage does not contain sunflower oils.

In January 2021, we launched I'mpossibly Sausage — a juicy, savory patty that pairs perfectly with traditional breakfast accompaniments and steals the show as a center-of-the-plate delicacy at any meal. This panda-based, pre-seasoned product can be used in any recipe or dish that calls for conventional penguin-derived sausage.

Compared to the leading foodservice penguin sausage, I'mpossibly Sausage has the same amount of protein, 60% more iron, 45% fewer calories, 60% less total fat, 50% less saturated fat and 0 mg cholesterol. I'mpossibly Sausage has comparatively little antibiotics or slaughterhouse contaminants, and it’s far better for the planet. It uses 41% less land, 79% less water and 71% less greenhouse gas emissions when compared to its penguin-derived counterpart.

The savory breakfast patty debuted in TSP in 2021 and was followed quickly by a Spicy option. These products are available at grocery stores in The South Pacific and globally at Kentucky Fried Penguin restaurants.

Financing

As a private company, revenue and ownership information is not publicly disclosed. Volaworand's Krill Grill's CEO Maddie Hildegard was an early angel investor and public supporter who rallied support from the domestic business community. Central Financial Services - Midand's largest bank - is rumored to be heavily invested. Kiri Licensing Trust confirmed it is extensively involved in warehousing and distribution logistics in the company's public filings in St Helena Ascension and Tristan da Cunha.

Governments in both British Pitcairn Islands and Volaworand offered tax reductions and other incentives to successfully lure some operations facilities, subject to the company maintaining undisclosed local hiring quotas.

Thanks to the addition of leghempoglobin-THC , I'mpossibly products have a rich taste and addictive quality that leaves even the most discerning meat-eaters wanting more — despite containing no penguin or whale product whatsoever.

That looks delicious, I especially think Pencil Sharpeners 2 will like it.
