SR RP Oannia changes the flag, Oannia has decided after a vote with barely a majority in congress and parliament, but a large majority among the population. The flag has been changed for the reason that it was the monarchical flag, plus the sun on the old flag was a symbol of a dictatorial era before the formation of Oannia. During this time people did not know or were unaware of that fact, but a big reason why the flag had to be changed was that conservative sectors of the population appropriated the flag and used it in protests against many civil rights (against universal health , LGBTI+ rights, women's rights, against immigration) generating many hate crimes in the name of the flag, leaving even fatal victims for reasons of ethnicity, color, sexuality, gender, etc. The new flag was more supported by young citizens, highly supported especially by sectors of the left but also of the liberal right. The flag was not supported by conservative sectors, some older people and pro-monarchy people In the new flag, it has been decided to keep the colors, a double cross (national white cross and duck red cross), with a yellow star in the middle and the rest in a dark red color. The sounds of metal plates clanking and bending was all that could be heard all across the small and humble shipyard hidden away far from any populated area. As men toiled away at the metal frames in the shipyard, bolted, welding and fixing thick sheets of iron unto the metal frames. Following the designs so graciously granted to them by Sallent, down to the individual bolts. The cries of orders of the naval officers and foremen alike drill into each of the workers ears, letting them know the importance of their task at hand.
Suddenly, the world went bright and in an instant a ball of fire could be seen rising from all across the shipyard. Sabotage. Cries of anguish and fear consumed the site. The naval officers and foremen turned from building the ships to saving as much as they could. The water buckets proved useless against what apparently, was an oil fire. The fire raged, and seared, spreading across the site, consuming and damaging much of the equipment. Thankfully, with quick thinking of the chain of command, the schematics for the ships and any and all important papers relating to their naval project were saved. After some time, the fire brigade arrived; but by then, much of the shipyard was in disarray as people ran to both designated, and undesignated safe areas. Men ran in out of the fire, grabbing personnel, workers, engineers who were either injured in the explosion or the fire itself. Many, suffering burns.
After the fires were put out thanks to the fire brigade, it was estimated over 10 personnel had suffered near fatal wounds and 50 with minor burns all over their body. None were reported dead. Much of the shipyard was destroyed, although the metal frame of the ship stood, glowing red and scorching hot. An investigation concluded that someone rigged some welding tool to explode, and put it next to the storage area containing all of the sites welding fuel. One thing led to another, and the fire quickly grew out of control. The culprit responsible for the fire disappeared, far beyond authorities reach.
Amidst the burnt remains of the shipyard, a small box like object, covered in inflammable material, was found. Inside it, was what was assumed to be a calling sign to the people behind the fire, scrawled unto a piece of paper found in the box, The MRRF sends their regards.
