Sir Arthur Wellington and the British government where happy to know that all had gone to plan. The petition had been successful it was time to seal the deal. Arthur made sure to write back saying.
Dear His Excellency James Abeatroff We have as per your fine suggestion combed through your attached documentation and have found much that the kingdoms is in great need of. We understand the limitations you must for the protection of the divine imperial realm, we in the kingdoms do however do recognize Gothgraff and Lilium as legal tender and would be then willing to accept any payments in the imperial realm currency.
I hereby request that to meet your Excellency with both myself Sir Arthur Wellington and my aid, Lady Guneet Basal at the Jurmskugyc Library at the time and date that is the most convenient for yourself. The reason behind requesting Lady Guneet Basal presence is so that if I in the future must leave my most likely replacement Miss Basal will be able to replace if the worst should occur and I have to leave the Imperial realm. I also believe this will be a great learning experience for who I hope will one day be an ambassador in her own rights. Sincerely Sir Arthur Wellington
Letter written it would be delivered with the normal wax seal and through normal channels. With that done the Mr Armstrong sent a letter to Arthur with the list of goods to bring up and the limit to which the British where willing to expect gold exports. This was nothing out of the ordinary it was just the reaffirming of the limits that any trade agreement could go as just as the Imperial realm protected itself the kingdoms had to do the same , though of course they highly doubt that such a divine nation as Gothgraff would ever do such a thing it was better safe then sorry.
The Chilokveri Foreign Minister weathered the storm of words silently. Through the biting rejoinder, the spittle-launching lambasting, he sat there in statuesque contrast to the Britannian ambassador's dishevelled loss of control. Though his face was a calm mask of control, Ian was filled with disbelief at the intelligence Richard revealed in his outburst.
500 ships! That’s not possible. The CIS’s report placed their navy at an estimated 300 warships. And those losses…
Despite his rapidly spiking agitation, Ian carefully stored the new information in his head for later discussion with the Director of National Intelligence; even as Richard finished his outburst, he did not respond. At last, he spoke.
“I’m sorry you feel that way, Ambassador.”, he said slowly. “Mark my words, the OAF will not sit idly by as the 5 Kingdoms fall. The importance of the Kingdoms is irrelevant. But,”—and he looked Richard directly in the eyes—“there is nothing I or the Republic can do to marshal that help. You may have heard rumours that Chilokver holds secret sway over the OAF. I understand your desperation, but those rumours are false. The OAF may be primarily comprised of Chilokveri citizens, but we have no more influence over its control than any other member state of OSEAN.” He said all this without a hint of deceptiveness.
“Let’s talk about what Chilokver can do to help instead, not the OAF. The weapons are not the extent of what we’re willing to do for Britannia. This offer, I’m making this offer to you now so that there is time for us to organise future assistance. We are here for the 5 Kingdoms, truly." Ian's voice had nothing but sincerity in it. "I promise you now that whatever military aid the Royal Navy requests will be delivered no more than 3 days after purchase. Convince the Kingdoms to accept this sale, and let Chilokveri technology change the odds of this fight.”
Abruptly, he stood up.
“It’s been a long morning, and I don’t expect you to decide immediately without having considered the provided documents. May I invite you to join me for an early lunch before we continue this meeting?”
Richard just sighed, it looked as if all that anger, all the drink, and all of his life had been sucked from him. He looked at the documents before him, inadequate support as always he gave a half smile and looked at the foreign minster. "I will" His voice had become meek and weak as he stood and nodded to the Chilo foreign minster. "But I dont think they will give a response other then a no. I shall contact the kingdom government and tell them no real aid is coming. It was a pleasure to meet you but I must request you leave." His voice sounded shaky as if he had been rattled to the core tears where building up in his eyes as he turned away and pointed to the door. "Just go. We both have work to do." The guard his uniform still with the fresh stain opened the door to the meeting room. The guard spoke his voice gruff "Thank you for your time, now I must ask you to leave in a quick and orderly manor guv." The guards lack of professionalism was still clear as day.
