Like 10 years ago, when I was just browsing the net for games, and found NationStates. I was too young then to understand and appreciate the game, so I stopped playing after a couple days. A month, or two earlier, I remembered there was this game I could try out again just for the sake of nostalgia...and here I am...xd

A friend showed it to me when I was in high school. I'm not sure how they found it.

The Syndicalist Republic of Rykkland

Good afternoon Kodiak, and what a good afternoon it is!
Today is a momentous occasion. Momentous in a multitude of meaningful modes. Please allow me the indulgence to outline the numerous ways.

First, in a functional sense, this is the first true competition between multiple parties in the nation’s contemporary history. For the over fourteen years of new Kodiak, she has only just today claimed a race of truly equal proportion. Nearly every other election has been decided by a ratio of larger than 4:1. And while I think philosophically, one may choose to generalise that both candidates were equally unimpressive, it is my firm believe that evidence shows this was a tightly fought and hard-won race because of the great strength of vision between Mr. Luchens and myself.

Next, let us take a moment to reflect that this has been the single greatest voter turnout in the history of the Republic. Not even in the golden ages of yore have we been able to engage such a high number of citizens to participate in our world-leading democratic exercise. And yet still more important, it is clear by these results that literally each and every citizen was indispensable to each of the three campaigns. Every vote counted and every vote mattered – all the way down to the wire.

Also let us applaud the great wealth of content developed by the citizens and candidates within this election season. This last month has been a true demonstration of the best of our community. Nation-changing legislation to nationalise water and power, considerable effort from citizens to engage and participate in our various channels of communication and media, still two more proposals within the assembly, not to mention the real-time Chancellor’s debate as well as the recent broadcast of the KBC Evening News. And I know yet more media will be developed to enrich our culture in the coming months, and it is because of motivated and energetic members like you that we have this wonderful community to appreciate.

Moving on, let me please take a moment to recognise that while our party, the Kodiak Workers’ Party, may be the de-facto champion of this contest, it is clear to all that our citizens are equally enamoured with the promises of both my campaign and that of the National Unity Party. Therefore, I have been working behind the scenes during this campaign to ensure that in the event of just such a close race, the will of the people may still be followed to the best of the ability of the Assembly. It is for that reason (and with particular notice of his expertise) I have offered, and he has accepted, Oskar Luchens the position of Deputy Chancellor as well as Minister of Defence and Immigration. Our cabinet shall contain also still two more NUP members, that of the honourable former Chancellor Alexander Mondo as our Minister of Justice, Law, and Order, as well as the up-and-coming Mr. Simon Kalimeno as our Minister of Social Services.

Of course, the remainder of our Ministries shall be headed by our successful colleagues and friends of the Kodiak Workers, with our good friend John Edwards as Minister for Revenue and Treasury, our young protégé Adam Phillips as Minister of Transportation, and Jacobin Party leader Mobius Weebus as Minister for Health and Education. Lastly, I personally shall hold the Ministry of Commerce and Labour, to best ensure a well guided path through these troubled economic times.

I want to thank each and every Kodiaker. That our democracy can cater to people of varying opinions is one of its greatest strengths. It is something of which we can and should be proud. I will do my best to make you proud. Our Cabinet will do its best to make you proud. In the coming days and weeks, more information will be released about our plans for this term of government, but let me reiterate, as I promised at the beginning of this hard-fought campaign, WE WILL PUT YOU FIRST. THE KODIAK WORKERS’ PARTY IS ON YOUR SIDE. Thank you, and good night!

Secretary of the Kodiak Federation of Industrial Unions
Chairman of the Kodiak Section of the Workers' International
