A long awaited chance to rest and relax. Nothing too elaborate.
How about you?

Christmas markets can be very charming places.

The Prussian Reich Ah I see. Looks like you need select responses to issues so that the state drives or dictates what the population are able to do.

Why are we closing embassies?

The Democratic Republic of Silver-Tree

We didn't do that at our end. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
We do not want to withdraw embassies.
I can't cancel the withdrawal as we didn't start the withdrawal. Can you cancel it at your end? It looks like you have several that have instigated withdrawal.

Thank you The Prussian Reich.
If you can't cancel it, after the withdrawal, we can request embassies and reinstate them.

So, the reason why Spy is closing embassies is becuz you were embassies with Berbina, a region that was raided for being fascist.

We didn't know that.
If we close the Berbina embassy will Spy cancel your closure?

The Prussian Reich I have checked and we do not have an embassy with Brebina. I can't see anything that shows we ever did. We don't know anything about their policies.
Please ask Spy to reconsider the cancellation.

Just in time for the new year. Visited my parents for some dinner and fireworks. It is unfortunate that my Christmas plans got canceled but, thinking about how many people in Ukraine, Gaza and many other places in the world have things so much worse than I, would make it narcissistic to start to cry a river about it. Me and my influenza is utterly trivial in perspective to everything else. Besides, my Christmas wasn't ruined altogether. Before the market I went to this Pre-Christmas party hosted by my local boardgame hobbyist group on the 16th, and I also made some Christmas pastries for myself before I got sick.

The Prussian Reich, we have more than 300 embassies. How do you suppose we can keep track of every one and what drama goes on inside them? Even if the connection had existed, punishing us for it is unreasonable. You need to consider the different circumstances behind each region accused of association. Could we have seen Brebina being a fascist region at the precise moment a connection would have first been established? How long was Brebina around? How long did it take to uncover the discovery to cause all these ripples in the airwaves of the ether?

Also, I looked into the Brebina situation at the start and I'm not buying the narrative 100%. Having a Fascist RO, even with the express awareness / support of the founder does not yet necessarily make the region on the whole fascist. To me that would have to be something more systematic, widespread or definitive of their own systems, preferences and policies. Putting up with one Fascist RO does not yet indicate that. Need more reference. About the embassies, I'd need better context for the namedrops they make and what criteria they used for classifying them as fascist, because there are few genuinely serious fascist regions in the game and none of those are listed in the embassies. Who in the fricking heck is Atomtopia, Golzborg or Soviet Cobra Communist Rebublic (etc.)? I've never head of them. Why and how are those important? What's their history and relation to "fascism"? How does it make Brebina fascist to have those people in its immediate periphery? Why do the raiders assume that I, let alone everyone else, would get any ringing bells in their head from any of that? It is stupid to think the only people reading the dispatches are knee-deep in the R/D and political metagaming of the site. All I am seeing at first glance are RP:ers, embassy collectors and the UoN, which is basically a gathering place for nationalists, some of whom may be fascists, but come in all sorts of colors. UoN has never had any fascist emphasis or program. Some of those regions I glanced even directly state to be Anti-Fascist, either in tags or the WFE. The initial image I get from all this is that the raiders are getting desperate for targets and stretching the definition for a fascist region to excuse/justify their invasion. They say, for example, that the person running Serovski Mir is a transphobe and now Serovski Mir is classified as a "problematic" embassy to support the fascist label on Brebina. Correlating transphobia with fascism without any other tangent is political illiteracy. Transphobia is just transphobia, doesn't matter where it comes from. They did the same thing with the other RMB "evidence" they used, pointing towards racist, sexist or transphobic content, which, again, on its own, has nothing to do with fascism. You know who else apart from fascists can be all these distasteful things?

It is kind of tragicomic that one of Brebina's own guys is going around telling people to shut the f*ck up for trying to defend Brebina, that they deserved what they got for being "fascist". Well, perhaps by some elaborate definition they were. Not that I am surprised by all this. The way people throw words and terms around these days is really tiresome and irritating. I have always exhorted precision with semantics. Not that it matters much in this situation anymore. My opinion is just my opinion and the majority has, from the look of it, accepted the mood of the masses. It is easier to go with the flow and the pressure when the fashist shame-badge is pinned on someone rather than to question it, at the risk of becoming targeted oneself for obviously being just another fashist coming in to speak on behalf of the devil.
