| Onikar | In his office in the snowy capital of Brezgrad, Chairman Vladimir Chezhnev deliberates the situation. Diplomatic relations with Proletarska— and the rest of the communist world — required decisive action to maintain. They would not stand for weakness as fascists infect Onikar and its comrade nations. A war on terrorism was necessary. Despite this simple fact (which he knew all too well from his decades of experience), Chairman Chezhnev pondered the ramifications of his actions. The Black Foot was sponsored by fascist nations; would not a war on them require the full industrial capabilities of his small nation? How could that not delay the ultimate goal of communism? Additionally, Onikarian citizens were strong-minded and fervently communist, but if Onikar employed the totalitarian surveillance tactics necessary to fight a guerrilla war with insurgents, would its people's solidarity survive? How could I subject them to this fight? And finally, Chezhnev wondered whether he could be trusted to rule. Might he simply be using the Black Foot as a means to gain power? This quandary was personal. He called his good friend and communist philosopher Bertrand Carré to Onikar. Upon arrival at the unassuming administrative office of the federal government, Carré was shocked at the state his long-time confidant was in. Dark sacks lined his eyes. His hair disheveled, still with flakes of ice from long, thoughtful walks through the winter city. He had aged ten years. "What more can I do?", asks Chezhnev the moment he walked in. "What more can I do to defend my people?" "You've done all you can, Vlad. When did you last sleep?" Ignoring his question, Chezhnev continues, "I have to do it. I don't have a choice." "You must go to bed." A long pause. Chezhnev's expression suddenly changes. Despite his apparent weakness and exhaustion, in that moment you could see the determined look in his eyes that first drew the people to him and his ideas. "I apologize to you, to my compatriots, and to every Onikarian, for what I must do to protect our nation from the scourge of fascism. We must defeat the Black Foot." He calls his Minister of Defense, and orders the military gear up for a war against insurrection. The fight has begun. First try at something serious! Wow. How is that allowed? | |

Would you like to become more involved in The Communist Bloc? Would you like to hang out in the official Discord, vote on regional legislation, volunteer to help improve the Bloc, become a brave pilot in our regional military, or even run for office yourself? Then you need to become a citizen! This guide will help you become a fully-fledged citizen of The Communist Bloc! There are two requirements you must meet to gain citizenship: - Having a nation located in The Communist Bloc - Owning a World Assembly (WA) nation. The location of your WA nation does not matter. To submit your citizenship application, you will need to create an account for our forums. To create your forum account, follow these steps. The process will be demonstrated with screenshots. 1. Navigate to 2. Fill out the registration form. It is highly recommended that you attach your account to an email you use specifically for NationStates purposes to ensure the privacy of your personal information. 3. You will see this message, which means a confirmation email has been sent to the email address you provided in step two. Open that email's inbox, find the confirmation email, and select the "Confirm your email" button. If you do not see a confirmation email, check your spam folder. 4. It will likely take the Ministry of Domestic Affairs approximately 1 to 3 days to process your application. To prevent electoral fraud, applications are not processed during election periods, but will be checked once the election ends. Once your application is approved, you're officially a citizen of The Communist Bloc! Now that you're a citizen of The Communist Bloc, we encourage you to explore the many opportunities available to citizens!
