| The Autocratic Nirvana of Bluelight-R006 | SHOULD OMNIONE STAY? Literally, the most event in Omnite history. It decides whether we stay or not. You have a choice. More information at: July-August 2023 Regional Downsizing Caucus In case you missed out, there have recently been: More calls for our Omnite community to leave NationStates, Signs showing less enthusiasm for NationStates among us, with some of our fellow contributing Omnites — including former Grand Chancellors — choosing to cease to exist on NS, or leave the region due to it being politically polarising and only that). A general, significant increase of OmniOne nations ceasing to exist, meaning that there is a significant decrease in new OmniOne nations, A major lack of activity that stems from political inactivity in recent governments, especially after the May 2023 general election. Hence, I have consulted members of both the current administration and the former United Progressive administrations to present a plan for us, the community to decide the question once and for all: Should OmniOne continue as a NationStates region, or downsize into a community-based Discord server off NationStates? The plan will be executed in two stages, caucus-style: (1) The community will be asked to share their opinions on Discord, in #🔥-ight-lets-huddle, where I’ll provide leading questions to base discussions off before (2) a regional referendum is called on the issue. (1) I invite and encourage ALL Omnites to join the discussion on our Discord server at: https://discord.gg/gdcMPWsak (copy and paste the link into your browser). This will ensure that you have a voice in our community’s decision-making. If you are unable to download Discord, do telegram me at Bluelight-R006 and I will try to seek alternative arrangements as this is the region’s most important matter since its founding. (2) I encourage ALL Omnites to participate in the regional referendum when it happens. This is only the second time in regional history where the region of OmniOne has faced a legal, and understandable threat to its sovereignty. Though the referendum does not have a set date yet, I intend to hold it before the end of August. More details can be seen in the timetable below: Any questions? | The Autocratic Nirvana of Bluelight-R006 | I know you’ve said you’re not interested before, but I’m curious as to the exact reason: Why not explore the Discord? Regardless of who wins out, there’ll tend to be more activity there, plus that’s where government functions. As for the RMB, I’ve encouraged activity here from Discord members, especially during election seasons, but it’s clear from them that a lot of them are increasingly disinterested in NS. It’s ironic considering that nations off Discord are usually the kingmakers and the swing bloc needed for a candidate to win. The vote next month will decide everything, but I encourage all Omnites to join the ongoing discussion on Discord. | |
