Entering Egypt!

After the devastating loss of Iraq to the savages which called themselves Turks, the Ottoman nation reeled from shock, its economy nearly crumbling and its states nearly splitting apart, however, under the careful guidance of the elusive Empress Helena, the nation managed to maintain its form.

Many courtiers in the Ottoman Court grumbled against Helena, declaring her to be Haram, and the main person responsible for the loss of Iraq.

Helena, being aware of this, would immediately begin amassing 1.2 million troops on the Egyptian Border, for Egypt had descended into chaos due to political corruption.

In a letter to the National Assembly, Helena would declare Egypt to be a "Threat to Domestic Security, and a nation more evil than the Turks".

The Egyptians, not taking kindly to having the Ottomans at their border would of course fire a few rockets into Jerusalem, all of these would be shot down with great rapidity and the Ottomans would begin their incursion into Sinai.

Using 500 mm railway guns the Ottomans would begin firing upon the town of Taba, this would merely be a distraction, as the Ottoman Navy had set sail from Constantinople and was approaching rapidly Port Said. This would permit for the Ottomans to cut off the peninsula from the main portion of Egypt.

The Navy would arrive and would immediately jam one of their ships in the entrance of the Suez Canal, this ship would come under heavy fire by the Egyptian Forces, and would quickly sink.

However, the position of the ships sinking still greatly impeded the waterway, and made travel almost impossible.

During this time, The Ottoman Imperial Corps of Engineers would order all ships travelling through the canal to either halt at Ismailia to unload their cargo therein or stop in Suez, which had already come under Ottoman Control.

As the Ottomans quickly swarmed the border of Sinai, they quickly encountered fierce resistance in Arish and Hasna, however, the Ottomans taking advantage of the mountainous region, would set up hiding spots in caves of the mountains, and quickly drive the Egyptian forces back to Bir Quatia.

Under a law passed by Empress Helena the Ottomans could not use Nuclear weaponry, in order to avoid condemnation or repercussions, however, heavy artillery fire was far more lethal to the small egyptian towns.

By the end of six months the Ottoman forces had reached the canal itself. Quietly signing a Pact with the Egyptian government to halt their advances for a period of two years.

Thus Sinai came under Ottoman Control.

The diplomat gives them an basket, filled to the brim with fragrant fresh figs, intending to give it to them.

"We are, here on official business though. As a representative of Qart-hadasht, we would like to talk about the opening of an trade route to Anqor."

He takes the basket, slightly confused. They didn't have a return gift in mind and didn't expect this so he felt a little bad about taking the food, given custom demands that you should respond to a gift in kind. But he takes it anyway, nodding appreciatively.

"Of course, of course. But a moment, please..."

He stops in front of a door, opening it, revealing a meeting room with a high vaulted ceiling. In the middle is a table with seats on either side. There is an armed guard in the room.

"Sit. This is the only real meeting room that we could find to accommodate you. Now, trade! Yes, trade. Certainly this is an interesting prospect for us, but we are...hesitant to interact with foreigners in terms of our economy due to overreliance being key to the President's platform of things he is against. What would you bring to the table to make this worth it?"

They would comply.

"We are interested in exporting practical goods., like gold, salt, petrol, textiles, and metals. We also can offer the best of our manufactured goods. We do however would not want to offend your president, so we are only to humbly request that we export things like grapes and figs."

Poland-Lithuania would expand their claims on the Ukrainian region, marking the regions to Crimea and past the Dnieper as "lands for future expansions". The reasoning would be put up to the regions being inhabited fellow slavics and the region being connected to the Kievan Rus, who the Polish-Lithuanian Government claims they are descendants of.

The region wouldn't be taken over yet, but there's no telling when it will.

"I see. Well...it is more complicated than basic autarky. It's more that...we don't want critical parts of the economy to be under foreign influence, if you understand. I wouldn't blame you for not knowing but this is why we have many state owned corporations in critical sectors. This means that importing those goods is pointless, in a sense. But only in critical sectors, as in, energy products, raw materials that can be produced at home, and key manufactured goods. So what you are proposing here might be considered "important" but not "critical." We wouldn't therefore have an issue with importing salt and gold, given that there are no natural deposits in the area, so of course we would have to do so. And of course figs and grapes are luxury consumer goods and we have no qualms about foreign enterprise. There is also the question of corporate influence, so we would also be willing to allow your nations businesses access to the processes by which we allow foreign companies to open shop in Angkor, as I believe your nation has gone under the "No-Cooperation" list for a while. And finally, in the terms of the trade agreement itself, in return we could offer timber, spices, as well as possibly gemstones and especially animal products like leather, wool, etc."

Village Deities

A common religious tradition in Angkor across the entire country is the reverence of village deities. A practice with roots in local tribal culture and medieval Hindu and Buddhist traditions, the worship of these gods often centers around pines for material benefit and prosperity. Many of these gods are non-Vedic traditional local gods like Ayannar, a male warrior goddess, Muannar, a female rain goddess. Others are more traditionalist, especially Nagaraja deities being popular. Often these deities do not have temples dedicated to them, but rather idols in the center of their patron village. These practice extends to Buddhist regions too, where they often do the same practice. This can even be seen in major cities like Bangkok, Angkor, and Hanoi, which often have "patron gods" who their largest temples are dedicated to, that are often descended from village gods before their predecessors revered.

A KÁRPÁTIAI SZÖVETSÉGI ÁLLAM - RÁNÉZÉSRE
The Federal State of Carpathia was unofficially founded in the late years of Matthias Corvinus’s reign over Hungary. He had succeeded in repelling the ever still present Ottoman Turks all the way to Greece and even capturing Vienna, shattering the House of Babenberg’s reputation of ruling over all Austria, to name among a few. He had also established an unofficial cult surrounding Mary, mother of Jesus. And he had made a healthy heir-apparent and had a bit more favorable wife. Yet in his final years of life, peasant’s rebellions rose all round and demanded he cede even more power from the nobles and the monarchy to the people, with all due respect to Matthias. Matthias accepted the proposal and even put a little more of a spin on the whole idea, thus creating the concept of a Carpathian Federal State, though it was first called the Federal State of Hungary. The original FSH was established in 1485, and was later reformed as the Federal State of Carpathia in 1885. The Carpathian Federal State is technically a monarchy, as most aspects of the Governor of the Federal State is hereditary, though it is mostly a republic.

The Federal State had entered a period of rapid modernization in the 1800s after yet another skirmish with the Turks in Rumelia. The period of industrialization resulted in a most momentous period in Continental Europe’s public transport history: the construction of the first underground railway, otherwise known as metro, on the continent in 1896, as part of the "Thousand-Year Celebrations" Carpathia was holding in celebration of the fact that a 1000 years had passed since the Hungarians’ arrival in the Carpathian Basin. But we’re not here to talk about the past, we’re gonna talk about the future.

The future of the Federal State is uncertain. The current Secondary Governor, Miklós Orbán is attempting to turn the Federal State into a Hungarian settler republic, while the Governor himself, József II of the House of Corvinus, is actively working against him, taking advantage of multiple clauses in the constitution to foil Miklós. In conclusion... I don’t have a conclusion.

The bat-person, who appeared to be Quetzalcoatl's royal advisor, would be preparing to answer more questions when the agent approaches. The guards move in a not-so-subtle way to make it obvious that he cannot approach the leader's procession litter from more than a couple feet away, but the advisor does give a respectful nod to the agent.
