I meant as in criminalization, decriminalization, legalization, etc. I do agree with this notion however.

This, heck if alcohol would be invented today it would probably be forbidden in most countries as it has all the properties of a hard drug.

The criminalization of drugs usually leads to more drug-related criminality and even more harmful stuff being available. decriminalization, regulation and legalization lead to more tax income and better quality being available: a win-win. But that's just my opinion.
