It was fantastic.

The outskirts turned from villages (Kampongs) into High rise buildings called HDBs.

Also, I nearly forgot you were that old.

I know it has changed massively.

I keep watching programmes on TV that mention Singapore. Great Railway Journeys was one and an NHK programme about otters living in Singapore City.

There were some islands I used to visit on the sampans - The Sister Islands and Hantu.

If you think it's a bargain - get it.

My friend went to Pulau Hantu, seems nice.
It's actually very interesting to see how this island grew though, from separation with Malaysia, aka Independence despite not wanting it, to a rich island.

No sadly I haven't, at least not that I can remember.

I got close to Malaya once when a boat I was in broke down in the Jahore Straits! Lol

Indonesia covers a massive area I bet there are some wonderful things to see amongst all those lovely islands.

My dad went to an Idyllic West sumatran town, sawahlunto, to take inspiration for a tourist attraction.

sawahlunto is considered a UNESCO world heritage site
