Hey everyone!

Some of you probably noticed that I've been inactive on NS, IIWiki, and Discord since January. That's because my life outside of the internet has been very busy. Currently, I'm on break, which gives me a bit more time to be on this site. I’ve received word that IIWiki is moving once more, entailing another mass transfer of articles and images. While I would have been able to commit my time to transfer content two years ago, that is no longer the case — and this will hold true especially after break ends. Furthermore, I decided that even if I take the time to transfer everything to the new IIWiki, I will still be unable to spend a lot of time in NS as I used to due to a host of real-life commitments that I didn't see coming and many more commitments that will occur in the near future.

So with a heavy heart, I am announcing my departure from Esquarium and NationStates.

I know I had made similar announcements before that I quickly backed out of — and I spent days making sure I was serious this time around — but I determined that this is it. I believe it’s the best time for me to depart just as IIWiki is changing servers since I do not have to worry about the baggage I leave behind in the old IIWiki, which is eventually going to be deleted. I can try to return and re-commit myself to the game, but circumstances will not allow it. Thus, I can only leave for good. To say this decision was a really difficult one to make would be an understatement.

I could follow in the steps of those who left previously and give a shoutout to individual players, but I don’t want to leave anyone out. I just want everyone to know that I enjoyed my time here — Esq is where I spent most of my 7 years in NS, and there is really no region like it. I am really fortunate to have encountered such a group of creative and dedicated people here. It is for that reason that I believe this region will thrive long after I am gone.

I want to wrap up this note by apologizing for my inactivity on Discord in particular; even in my more active days, I have refrained from going on Esquarium’s chats, partly because I didn’t have the time to and also because going on Discord to keep up with what was going on gave me a bit of stress. From reading Discord over the past few months, I am under the impression that major changes in canon underway throughout the region. Unless I spend more time on Discord, there will come a time when I’m totally out of sync with these changes. It’s best that I take my leave instead of dragging everyone else behind.

Thanks, Esquarium — it’s been a pleasure being with this region for nearly a decade. I wish you all the very best. And Lecia, consider me your latest victim.

As someone who has basically been neighbors with you from the very beginning, I thank you very much for helping shape this region into what it is today.

It is hard to describe your impact to the region in words, especially to my neck of the woods, whether it be in Velkia or in Central Borea. And as someone whose canon has been substantially intertwined with yours for as long as we were in this region, in the form of Oteki, Nantai, and Katranjiev, as well as many other things, I am thankful for the many opportunities that we have had to cooperate in developing a common lore, and I will miss it.

However, I understand why you are leaving: while I still have plenty of time to spend on here and on other sites, I recognize the feeling of not having enough time to do all the stuff that you want and/or need to do. And as someone who procrastinates and prioritizes NS and other things above things that I actually should be doing, you should probably do what you need to do.

So, I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavours, Namor.

Maybe create an American account called "Hippostania"? Razaria does have two accounts: one for China, and one for Hong Kong, after all.

You're in the states now? Got tired of Scotland or is this a temporary thing?

As many of you may have known, I have not been doing a whole heck of a lot with Luziyca as of late.

The reasons are fourfold: Namor's departure, the fact that I just can't be bothered to update Luziyca's maps, my involvement with other communities on the internet, and to a lesser extent, RL. As a result, I no longer find the time and inclination to really maintain a great "power" that has played a role in shaping Esquarian affairs.

So, to put it bluntly, after weeks of dithering, I have decided to make it clear: I am no longer going to RP or worldbuild as Luziyca, and instead focus all my NS effort into Katranjiev. I'll still use this account OOCly, just for convenience.
