I can understand why the people are upset. When on steals an election from 74 million people, it stands to reason a large number of people will take umbrage. (I don't know for sure what that means, but I do know what happens in south after someone takes it.)

However, the alleged Trump supporters (it is my understanding there are a number of known Antifa under arrest in DC now) took it way too far. That could have become a civil war without a whole lot more effort.

It's ridiculous to assume that, as FedGov's power has increased exponentially over the years, and people now treat every election like a life-or-death struggle to wield that power, that the losers in each subsequent election will just accept their loss and "go get 'em next time."

The only real solution is to take power away from the government. Unfortunately, we all know they will never do so voluntarily, and half the country demands that the government have even more power.

If/when a civil war comes, I don't have high hopes. For all their online bluster, I think most Americans on the right are fat and comfortable, and thus when the shooting starts not enough will stand up to truly threaten the government. FedGov will also react extremely violently, which will likely scare any fence-sitters into inaction. Liberty will die with a whimper.

Here is what my mother said about the insurrection

"Just the thought of waking up and finding the clones of the village people in the American parliament is priceless. It's a waste of time. If they really were subversives they wouldn't even be allowed to pass over the first gate. When are we going to stop playing these political games on a global level and we go back to work for the good in the world let me know so that I'm getting out of bed."

Well said, your mother knows the game well. The real revolution will never be televised. The fact that these “Republicans” were allowed into the Capitol unopposed - with police escort - says everything. Look at all the perfectly staged photographs. And all the ridiculous characters, Viking dude for example lol.

The real people in power behind the scenes know what they are doing. They are masters of their craft. Yesterday’s “insurrection” was another win for the global cabal, they regained control of the national narrative, stifled true dissent, while also reinforcing negative bias toward honest patriots, enforced and normalized censorship, and again diverted attention from the many evidences of corruption and crime against them.

I can only suspect, that many are waking up to the reality of this world, perhaps at a rate that frightens those whom pull the wool over our eyes. One can only wonder if the events of 2020 was the final desperate attempt to silence all dissent permanently, for many generations. The digital age leaves very little room for those who do not follow the approved narrative.

Here’s just one link out of many independent sites talking about what I’m saying:

It is easy to succumb to this kind of thinking, I myself find the odds insurmountable when looking at the situation we find ourselves in. But I always try and remind myself that it only take a handful of truly dedicated individuals to make a meaningful difference towards any goal. We should not allow the media to demoralize our senses and implant mistrust in our neighbours. There are plenty of good, honest, and moral people in this world. That is precisely why we are being divided and pitted against one another.

I do agree that a civil war would not be in the people’s best interest. It would be ugly, and as long as the media is under the control of the oppressors, those who fight on the side of freedom and constitution will ultimately lose in some form, or another.

I don’t have a solution, but I hope that ordinary people will begin to see for themselves that we live in an extraordinary illusion. It’s a battle of hearts and minds - individuality and freedom is losing this battle because the system doesn’t play fair. So keep being the voice of reason and truth. At the very least, if we go down with the sinking ship we will still have our souls intact and integrity in hand.

Today, in what appears to be a coordinated move, Facebook and Twitter "permanently suspended" President Trump's accounts on those platforms. Google just removed the conservative leaning Twitter-like platform "Parler" from the app store. There are reports of the Parler app disappearing off Android phones. (Mine quit working) Apple gave Parler 24 hours to respond to a list of rules just for Parler under threat of being removed from the Apple platforms.

There are many other examples of people being banned, shadowbanned, and otherwise penalized individuals and organizations for not toeing a specific political line. The National Rifle Association, Pro-Life groups, even religious organizations are being targeted while terrorist organizations and their leaders are left untouched.

Many are saying social media platforms have grown beyond just a private messaging system. There are those who associate Facebook and Twitter with the soap box on the public square.

What do you think? Is it time to curb the rampant censorship on publicly accessible social media platforms? New poll is up.

These are all private companies whose websites are their private property. They may allow or disallow anyone they want, at any time, for any reason or no reason at all.

I vehemently disagree with apps being removed from a person's phone/tablet/etc. - the phone is that person's private property, so remotely removing an app is essentially hacking and/or stealing. I'm sure Google has language allowing them to do this included in end-user agreements or something, though, and if so then they have a right to do it.

Does anyone but me find it interesting that the day after the Georgia senate runoffs went to the closet communists, that Twitter, Facebook, Google and Apple all decided to drop the President and many other conservatives in a coordinated effort?

The response to the Capitol incident was very swift, and I wouldn't be surprised if Big Tech received communications from various politicians or other government officials demanding notable MAGA people be deplatformed.

Assuming the MAGA crowd follows through on their threats, Jan. 17th-20th should be entertaining. Of course, the arrests made after the Capitol incident may serve as a deterrent. As I've said before, I feel many on the right talk big, but when confronted with real consequences back down quickly. FedGov is preparing for unrest near the inauguration - more solid fencing, 15K National Guard troops + who knows how many cops. I assume at least 2x as many NG troops will be on standby, ready to serve as reinforcements in case SHTF.

The old military rule is that an attacking force needs a minimum 3-to-1 advantage to successfully take a defended position. While there are plenty of combat vets amonst the MAGA crowd, the vast majority have zero military training. Given all these factors, if MAGA truly wants to fight, I'd say they're gonna need a 10-to-1 advantage to have a chance.

I'm curious if you believe any demands those tech companies may have received carry the force of law.

I'm unaware of any current law that they could have been threatened with, and I'm sure the armies of lawyers these companies have would keep any such attempts tied up for years. If they were unamenable to the politicians' demands, I'm sure they were threatened with the repeal of Section 230, and thus their protection from liability.

Truth be told, I assume that Democrat leadership called the tech companies to demand deplatforming, and the tech companies said "We already started before you called."

Interesting info re: Nat'l Guard deployments to DC:

The entire Washington DC NG
56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team (PA NG, lots of combat deployments)
Troop B of the 102nd Cavalry Regiment (not much info on them)
1-114th Infantry Regiment (NJ NG, no deployments)
508th Military Police Company (NJ NG, no deployments)
229th Military Police Company (Virginia NG, last deployment was Kuwait 1990. Probably nobody left from that.)
153rd Military Police Company (Delaware NG, one deployment)
102nd Military Police Battalion (NY NG, no deployments)
104th Military Police Battalion (NY NG, no deployments)
229th Brigade Engineer Battalion(Virginia NG, lots of deployments in a non-combat role)
160th Engineer Company (Delaware NG construction group, probably the ones doing the fencing/barricades)
261st Theater Tactical Signal Brigade (Command and control unit, one deployment)
198th Expeditionary Signal Battalion (Delaware NG communications group, one deployment)
1049th Transportation Company (Air transportation)
262nd Component Repair Company (in-field repair group, no deployments)
108th Wing (Refueling and air reconnaissance unit, multiple deployments)
177th Fighter Wing (F16 fighter jets for air-to-air combat. This one is odd. What are they expecting?)
105th Airlift Wing (Air transportation)
174th Attack Wing (Drones - Predators, intel-gatherers. Bad news for MAGA)
166th Security Forces Squadron. (Security for the planes, lots of deployments)

Word is that most state governors aren't sending any more troops, likely anticipating unrest in their own states.

So what does all this mean?

Most of the NG deployed in DC are from solid Democrat states, which might be a coincidence since these states are also very/fairly close to DC geographically and thus they could deploy faster. Most of them have no real combat experience, which could be both a blessing and a curse - they're likely to be more nervous and have itchy trigger fingers if SHTF. The total number of NG troops in DC is more than the number of US troops currently deployed to Afghanistan. The in-field repair group is a little odd, seems like they're planning on the NG remaining in place for some time. Usually broken equipment would be fixed after returning to base. DC might end up becoming like the "Green Zone" in Baghdad.

A major problem for MAGA is the Predator drones, both from an intel-gathering standpoint and an incoming missile standpoint.

The F16s are also weird. Maybe they're worried about a small private plane (or multiple) conducting attacks? Or foreign interference?

Ancapadonia

Further clarification re: F16s - apparently F16s have been patrolling DC airspace since 9/11, there's usually two in the sky at all times. Not sure if that's the 177th Fighter Wing, or if the 177th has been added on top of that.

More pondering - there's no mention of any medical units being deployed, which is strange if they're anticipating a fight.

Also, no mention of it yet, but don't be surprised if some PMCs are deployed to DC as well.

A lot of the more recent NG troops being moved in are in logistics and support, indicating they may be staying longer than the ~30 days or so that's currently being reported. Maintaining this large a force long-term may cause some issues, likely requiring a "justification" for keeping them in DC. Beware false flags.

Just about everyone knows the Democrats stole the election. Just about everyone on the right is seriously pissed off over that fact. The never to be sufficiently damned Democrats know that too.

It means the Democrats are fxxxkin' scared.

You are not going to see a let up in the heavy military presence for a long time.

Ancapadonia wrote:More pondering - there's no mention of any medical units being deployed, which is strange if they're anticipating a fight.

They don't care about the people they hurt. They are not worried about taking casualties themselves.

Looking at the poll, I find it reassuring that most people see the problem with social media censorship.

It is troubling, but not surprising we have two nations who voted to support the idea Twitter, Facebook, Amazon and the rest behaved in a socially responsible manner. One has to wonder if these folks failed history.

The Pirates of Xyanth

There are reports Commissar elect Joe Biden is planning to cancel the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline.[1][2] This is a project that has already under construction, spending $207 million in Canada and $47 million in the US so far.[3]

We are talking about a massive project already underway with completed pumping stations and pipe in the ground. This is the same as you having spent your money for land and a partially framed home only to have the county arbitrarily pull your building permit without cause.

How is that even possible, let alone legal in this nation?

But it gets even better. Allow me to quote from a friend of mine who is a little more plugged into intelligence matters than I am:
---------------------------------
So, cancelling the Keystone XL pipeline that will connect the Canadian Oil fields to the Southern US refineries and ports, increased regulations intended to eliminate fracking, we’re looking at a massive increase in gas prices and the resultant impact on economic recovery. It also has significant national security implications.

One of our most potent weapons against an expansionist Russia was flooding the European markets with low cost American natural gas. This caused a resultant drop in Russian GDP, and curbed their military spending. The Canadian government has also said that if they can’t sell the oil through the US, they have no problems shipping it to their west coast and selling it to China. Geopolitics matter; and opponents getting fuel your nation needs has ended more than one conflict. This may not be a net negative in a Near-peer conflict with China, since we’d be able to cut the supply off, but in a Cold War like we have now, the economic impact is a much bigger issue for the time being.

It also means that our established foreign sources of petrochemicals are going to need to be protected in the Middle East, historically with American troops.

Hope those of you on the political left like high gas prices, a crumbling economy and more foreign wars- because that’s what the Biden Foreign policy is shaping up to look like.

The Left LOVES high gas prices - they constantly promote the use of taxes as a weapon to penalize purchases of products they disagree with, if they don't outright ban something. Their plan here is to try and force people to buy EVs by making gas-powered cars more expensive to operate, as well as force people to try and get power for homes and businesses from "environmentally-friendly" sources (many of which will be politically connected to socialist politicians).

If Biden remains in office (there's been talk that he may step down after a couple years, in order for Kamala Harris to be the First Woman President™), his regime is just going to be basically Obama's 3rd term. If Harris gets into office, who knows what's gonna happen.

If, following historical patterns, the Republicans win back the House and/or Senate, then gridlock can at least slow down the extreme socialists. If the Dems win more in 2022, kiss America goodbye.
