The Lavlett Line - An Anthropological Study on the Historical Evolution of a Fundative Legend on the Familial Relationship between the Players of a Community on NationStates

[1] Here I use the term 'legend' as defined by William Bascom in his article The Forms of Folklore: Prose Narratives. I will, however, explain my reasonings behind this choice later.
[2] Regulars are usually defined as “active individuals who interact with other players often, on a regular basis, and are deeply involved with the community they are in”.
[3] M. Halbwachs, Social Frameworks of Memory, 1925.
[4] A. Gramsci, Prison Notebooks, 1948-51.
[5] See page=rmb/postid=31310285.
[6] The term ‘ship’, derived at least initially from ‘relationship’, is used to mean the desire by fans for two or more people, either real-life people or fictional characters, to be in a romantic relationship.

I know how hard you worked on a surprise for me so I couldn't just sit there and not return the favour. This may not be much but hopefully it will be special enough for my Laver UwU.

I've been on NS for almost a year now and you've been active for the whole time, which makes you one of the most familiar people on the RMB to me. And while, as far as I can find, this:

Is our first contact, only after I switched to my second nation after around 50 days, I still consider you perhaps my oldest and bestest friend in Europe!

So for you, Laver, I make this, and no matter what happens from here on out please know that I'll always love and support you :D

The Story of Lavlett - A Scrap Book!

It began almost 300 days ago back in April of 2018 when I first created St Scarlett, my third main nation which would go on to be my permanent main! You were instantly there to welcome me and engage me in conversation, something I hadn't done so much as Aelyzia and Chile and Venezuela.

I immediately knew we were going to get along when I realised our political opinions were somewhat similar.

And of course the similarities didn't end there, our countries themselves by pure coincidence were very similar, and after our first exchange of compliments

We quickly became allies via EFTA, based on our similar Nordic island nations.

After our first "fight",

You began to educate me on the ways of freedom, shaping my nation into a much better place to be.

As our friendship grew we quickly began to get up to some mischievous antics on the RMB, creating the Korsinian war flag and confusing everyone by both using it as our flag. It was so confusing even we got confused xD.

Our relationship developed further and soon the foreshadowing of what was to come began.

I continued to support you when you felt sad, letting slip a little "I love you" pretty early on.

And that day, 260 days ago, was of course the day our true alliance began with the publishing of my famed treaty, the only one of its kind, the document that makes Lavlett so strong!

You helped me become interested in becoming commissioner, something I would later of course achieve!

I began to learn of your detective skills as you tried to figure out of I was the RMB of Europe, who of course turned out to be our friend Thils,

Our first real fan and dedicated defender of Lavlett.

You put your skills to use and figured out my oldest puppet, Aelyzia,

And then of course my second main Chile and Venezuela! You clever thing UwU

Many people began to get jealous and threatened our union, but you didn't let them get to us!

We created our puppets Korsinia and Kryssinia to fully complete our nations' union.

Then we finally adopted our first child, Silver islands

Admittedly this didn't last long and we of course lost our little silver boi.

Time and time again you proved how well you knew me,

And we rose to the top together, we're number 1 and number 5 now OwO

You were my protector during war! Defending me against ESA.

And we sure showed him!

Your plans to democratise me were wholly successful

And now St Scarlett is, to this day, a very democratic and free nation whilst still being rich! Later on our more successful child, The mongol plain appeared and defended us against ESA the second time he attacked us.

We repaid the favour by looking after him and later adopting him

More people tried to break us up, the green bastards!

But you knew I was faithful!

Our number one fan, The New Nordic Union made an appearance of course and he has been such a wonderful fan ever since.

Mongol made some cute comments about our family,

and because of him the family began to expand

ESA continued to trouble us even in his new home, but he couldn't break us.

I became a proud mum as Mongol began to express his independence UwU

I remember the day I tried to say that prisoners shouldn't get the vote and everybody turned on me :O, but even though you didn't agree with me you still looked out for me.

Unfortunately things didn't go so well with Mongol despite everything.

But the now much expanded Lavlett family was strong enough to work out a solution and Feria-Alkaline adopted him despite being canonically his grandmother.

Another threat later arose from that classic RMB troll Aweland, and he began freaking out over nothing, he still hasn't told us why >:(/

It didn't matter though and we continued to go strong, bringing Novgorod-Pskov into the extended family.

When I finally became commissioner and put up my first poll, somewhat controversial, you told people to leave me alone and defended my work,

And in my later poll we co-operated to show off our cute love for eachother.

We made things more official back in November, with help from Nov :D

Lavlett sure had come a long way! You forgot Dizgovzy, Nov and Regy :P

Regnum Italiae became yet another fan of our union and helped keep your spirits up!

In a turn of the tables, you considered another kid in Cytadela, but this time it was me who said no xD

Recently of course, Lavlett almost ended, probably the closest it's ever come.

It was sad for me and I know you were having a tough time, but Lavlett is strong! It prevailed even at its lowest point and is still in tact to this day!

So that's our story and it's been great! We've been through a lot of tough times:

But thanks to our treaty, our friends and our great friendship we didn't let that stop us becoming the most famed couple in NS Europe!

The good times greatly outweigh the bad and that's why I keep fighting for you Laver, that's why I won't ever let you tell me that you're not good enough for me, because you are :D

I and all of our friends love you and we will always cherish every moment spent with you! Thanks for helping me become part of the community and making my NS experience so great!

Oh yeah, I also made you this xD

1 In the beginning, there was nothing but emptiness, no purpose in anything.

2 A word was heard in every corner of the empty void. "Let there be embassies".

3 The universe was formed, the stars, the planets, every living organism was created with the knowledge of a higher being known as Godsinia.

4 On Earth, the first humans were created, Xernon and Andusre.

5 They would live each day dedicated to pray in front of embassies and preach his almighty Godsinian name to the humans created later when Godsinia got bored.

6 They founded the holy land known as Thaecia, also said to be the home of Godsinia.

7 A servant of Godsinia, Zoopolis, refused to accept this hierchry and order of life that Godsinia had bestowed upon the humans.

8 Zoopolis attempted to harm Thaecia by cheating his way into the holy order of representation.

9 Godsinia, furious over this betrayal and attempt to ruin the holy land's reputation, banished Zoopolis.

10 Zoopolis suffers in the 9th circle of the Rejected Realms, but through his supporters, he gains power to tempt every good Thaecian into commiting sin.

1 Alongside the creation of Thaecia, Godsinia put rules in place for the humans.

2 Questioning Godsinia is a sin and will result in banishment to the 1st layer of the Rejected Realm after the sinner has died.

3 Working against Godsinia is a sin that will result in an afterlife spent in the 2nd layer of the Rejected Realm.

4 Mocking Godsinia and the religion and its followers will be met with a punishment in the 3rd layer of the Rejected Realm.

5 Lying about Godsinia to paint him or the religion or its followers in a bad light will result in the sinner being sent to the 5th layer.

6 Those who are not baptized in Godsinian bath water are doomed to the 6th layer.

7 Being Cerdenia or following his teaching is a sin and will result in sinners being sent to the 7th layer for misguidance and Cerdenia to the 9th layer.

8 The 8th layer is reserved for people creating an imbalance in Thaecia.

9 In the 9th layer, Godsinia sends the false prophets and Gods, the ones who created division by spreading false teachings will suffer in the 9th layer forever.

10 Godsinia deems more things as sins and sends those sinners to the 4th layer when he sees fit
