Following a failed assassination attempt on Emperor Drex Tellgar VII, and several members of the royal family, the Emperor convened the parliament to make a declaration. " Myself, and several members of my family, were targets of an assassination attempt. The man who had managed to sneak himself, and a rather large amount of explosives, past my guards and into the room we were dining in claimed that my very existence is a threat to the Tellgarian people, and that he would wipe the royal blood from existence. The guards that were in the room quickly drew their weapons upon hearing this, and shot the man several times in the head. It was a rather traumatic ordeal, especially for my six-year-old niece. Now, as to why I've convened Parliament: about two hours ago, I was informed that this man had connections to several members of Parliament. As of this moment, on October Twenty-Seventh, Twenty-Seventeen, I am enacting Imperial Law, and dissolving the government, as is my right, given to me by the authors of the Tellgarian Constitution. Until I am certain that no threat of a coup or bodily harm remains, then the government shall remain dissolved. The Golden Dragoons shall be deployed in every major city, and especially Lunaris, in order to maintain order until the government is re-formed." This speech shocked the members of Parliament, and the citizens watching the event on television, into silence. After waiting for a moment in total silence, the Emperor then concluded the meeting with a final statement: " Tellgaria forever!" and left the room, followed by Tellgaria's top generals and a large escort of Golden Dragoons.
