Synnadine's History

The Beginning

Synnadine was founded 1246 AR by a group of refugees running from another corrupt nation. For decades they had been wandering from Sector to Sector by stolen ships in search of a new place to call home. Finally, just as a fourth generation of children began being born to the refugees, they came across vast land with a peaceful native populace who coexisted with nature, giving back what they took. The refugees began to integrate themselves into the natives society who welcomed them with open arms, building a new home together. As an offer of peace and bonding a chief from one of the six tribes, the Calian Tribe, offered his daughters hand to any man who was willing but only if he proved himself worthy in her eyes. After weeks of her meeting with potential mates she found her ideal suitor and the pair married, becoming the first couple that conjoined the refugees and the natives. This marriage marked a milestone in the relationship between the refugees and the natives, only being further strengthened when the new marriage gave rise to two twin children followed by a third child late in the following year. It wasn't long after this that those who were once known as refugees and outsiders began being known as family and fellow natives. The natives hadn't even ever thought of naming the land they lived on, so the former refugees named the land Synnadine in honor the Calian Chief who brought them in with open arms and offered his daughters hand in marriage: Synided.

Development of a Nation

Decades passed and after generations of children, one could no longer tell the difference between those born from the former refugees, the natives, or crosses between the two. A growing population demanded more space for living, but no one was willing to destroy the land. Instead they built around the land, using natural formations to their advantage. Eventually another group of settlers, on a mission from their homeland searching to annex new land, found the growing nation. Though relations were peaceful at first the new settlers began destroying land and disrupting nature without giving anything back in return. They were ordered to leave by who they began to know as Synnadineans. Taking the order as an act of aggression and declaration of war they attacked, pillaged and burned a farming village. This act marked the beginning of what Synnadineans came to call the War of 20 Seasons, as since this war occurred before years were used to measure passages of time they instead used seasons, meaning this war lasted 5 years. Having always lived as one with nature, the settlers were entirely disadvantaged due to the fact much of Synnadine was forestation and mountain ranges. Once the natives began to take their weapons and adapted to not only learn how to use and make them, but also how to improve them, the war became very one sided.

After five years of the settlers losing seven battles for each victory they gained, having their supply ships attacked and raided, and having their forces ambushed at night while they slept the settlers finally abandoned Synnadine thus ending the war with their default surrender. As a result of the war and stealing supplies for years Synnadine, which previously had rather primitive technology with little more than stone daggers and arrows, began to blossom and create new things using the now abandoned forts of the settlers to help them smith iron and forge firearms modeled heavily after those they "collected" from the settlers through the course of the war. They began building new settlements out of salvaged metals and stone with their new supplies, still disturbing nature as little as possible. After nearly a thousand years had passed since the War of 20 Seasons, Synnadine had become an extremely advanced nation in TGC and had successfully defended itself in four more wars, each time following the same strategy: Use the environment to their advantage, ambush the enemy during the night, steal supplies and improve upon what they can, and cut off their supply chain. Because of this method they gained early "prototypes" for most of the technology they use today.

Modern Day

Eventually Synnadine grew into one of the great superpowers of The Great Chili. For centuries Synnadine made up one of the leading nations in The Great Chili alongside fellow superpowers such as Wabacha, Czargonia, and Political Confusionists. Together they all independently ruled their own nations and helped govern TGC as well, keeping it safe from war and tyranny. After centuries of Synnadine and Byzopeos (a fellow superpower) expanding into space, in the year 4977 AD Byzopeos came into contact with a hostile alien race known as the Psyksee who promptly tracked their starfleet back to Immensus and began invading The Great Chili. The superpowers of The Great Chili joined their military forces for the first time in history to crush the invading forces. Ironically, this period marked the pinnacle of relations between the nations of The Great Chili. After this war the great nations slowly drifted apart, focusing more and more on issues in their own nations. Leaders of various nations and their families began mysteriously disappearing, forcing other nations to close off their borders and isolate themselves for the sake of security. During this time The Senate took control over TGC.

A few of the former superpowers managed to maintain their independence from The Senate by isolating themselves but at the cost of their contact with the outside world. There were still many however that were devoured by the Senate's influence due to the lack of a willingness to resist, the lack of a proper leader due to their sudden disappearance, or both. Synnadine tried to push back against the Senate alongside Wabacha, Czargonia and others but ultimately the beasts claws were too deep in the Sector. After deciding the only way to overthrow the Senate would be an all out, full scale war and with none of them willing to risk all the collateral damage of such a war, the former superpowers ultimately gave up pushing the Senate back out thus securing the Senate's status as the new rulers of the Sector. Today, Synnadine and many of the other former superpowers are mostly reclusive nations, keeping clear of the Senate especially, though many such as Synnadine and Wabacha have finally left their self isolation's and reopened trade with those not aligned with the Senate.
