To allow for more forms of voting than the in-built poll feature that NationStates has, and to give all citizens the equal chance to vote in an equal way, Edoca and Montenay provides to all citizens a Voter ID on request once they have been confirmed as a citizen.

A voter ID is a six-character string that has been provided to you from Elections Edoca. You enter it before filling out your ballot to verify your citizenship and hence eligibility to vote. It is also necessary to possess a Voter ID to run for office.

Okay, so how do I obtain one?
If you are a citizen by endorsement (or a citizen by exemption before September 14th, 2026), you should do the following:

Send a telegram to
Elections Edoca asking (kindly) for your ID. Wait for your request to be processed. If Elections Edoca has questions, they will ask you for further information.
Once you receive your ID, note it down somewhere safe. If you lose it more than once, penalties including disenfranchisement could occur.
If you are a citizen by exemption who became such after September 14th, 2026, you will be granted a Voter ID automatically for citizenship recordkeeping.
How can I avoid my ID being revoked?
Use it. If a voter misses voting on more than 2 presidential or 4 congressional elections in a row, they risk being their ID being revoked. Which isn't fun and none of us want that to happen. So come out and engage in Edocan democracy!
