Jermaine Cole, most commonly known as J. Cole is the first president of the Federal Republic of North Carolina. Born on a military base in Germany and raised in North Carolina, he had a rough upbringing with a steo father abandoning him alongside his biological, his mom also being an addict after the former left, he decided to leave Fayetteville for New York in college to pursue music. He first rose in popularity with a multitude of mixtapes, The Come Up, The Warm Up, and Friday Night Lights, the last two garnering him mainstream attention. The record Lights Please from The Warm Up garnered attention from rap mogul JAY-Z, who then signed J. Cole to Roc-Nation, Friday Night Lights was the #2 trending topic on X (formerly Twitter).

After this, he entered mainstream hip-hop with constant #1 records spanning across every single major label record, Cole World: The Sideline Story, Born Sinner, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, 4 Your Eyez Only, KOD, The Off-Season, and The Fall-Off. Contained inside of these records include some of his biggest hits such as No Role Modelz and many others.

Other projects not listed include his EPs, Any Given Sunday and all the iterations, Truly Yours 1 & 2, Lewis Street, Birthday Blizzard '26, his mixtape Might Delete Later, and his projects affiliated with Dreamville, the record label he founded to sign other artists which include Revenge Of The Dreamers I, II, and III, D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape, and Creed III: The Soundtrack. He also released singles such as MIDDLE CHILD and many others, garnering attention.

In the middle of his Fall-Off tour, America started to crumble and the states which seceded started losing their politicians, leaving their people behind to save themselves. Local elections were ran for an emergency president, and sensing the tension, J. Cole decided to run and surprisingly won. He announced his party as the Dreamville Administration, with members like JID, Bas, EARTHGANG, and affiliates like Morray and PFG.

J. Cole held his first rally on August 28th, 2026, his walk-out song being No Role Modelz, in the capital, Raleigh. He announced his plan, which included a cut on the police force budget, a focus on diplomacy and helping low-budget areas, declaring North Carolina a diplomatic nation that would be ready to defend itself, a philosophy he had carried ever since he entered the public eye as a musician. In this speech he spoke one of his most infamous lines: "You should not be voting for parties, merely individuals and their crowds. Labels are boxes that make you judge the color, not the character."

Inside of his new presidential office, he immediately called neighboring nations South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia to speak to their presidents, Jeezy and Clipse, Virginia has a dual presidency with brothers Pusha T and Malice leading together. After approximately a week, it was announced that a defensive and economic alliance was created with Jeezy and Clipse, named "Southeast Mob", named by affiliate PFG. The president of Georgia, Future, reportedly didn't join due to wanting complete neutrality among the rest of the nations. Despite the perceived slight, the two seem to be on good terms due to their previous 2025 collaboration Red Leather. Although, stability in Atlanta is jeopardized by gangs attempting to take control of the city, one of the gangs being affiliated with JID and EARTHGANG, signees of J. Cole.

Immediate tensions were felt for the North Carolina president, as the leader of Canada, Drake, and the president of California, Kendrick Lamar. While the distance from them to Raleigh is far, they are his two biggest competitors due to their previous beef in 2024. It is unsure on how Kendrick Lamar feels on J. Cole, but Drake has been openly hostile to him. Drake has been hostile to the leaders of New York (A$AP Rocky), Virginia (Clipse), and he's openly partnered with Future (Georgia), so his influence breathes on North Carolina's neck.

The beef in 2024 refers to the highly publicized rap beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, which J. Cole had bowed out of after dissing Kendrick Lamar, this move angered Drake as before, he was on his side. During the beef, both were effectively slandering each other on rap records such as Family Matters and Not Like Us, Kendrick Lamar is generally seen as the winner of the beef.

Domestically, there has been conflict and confrontation, mainly from rapper DaBaby who declared himself the leader of North Carolina, and has readily sneaked J. Cole despite the former putting him on the hit Under the Sun from Revenge of the Dreamers III. Most Carolinians stand with J. Cole on this issue.

J. Cole's nickname, Hollywood Cole, originating from his track G.O.M.D., documenting his rise to fame, has been flipped into a political nickname against him, calling him a "hollywood president". The consensus on his presidency is split, although areas near the Fayetteville metro and inside indicate heavy support. Out of all potential candidates roaming from DaBaby to Petey Pablo, he did have the most supporters.

As the new president, the most prevalent changes he made were social welfare and helping the less fortunate areas and taxing the really rich. He says his reason for this is that he doesn't want anyone, especially the youth living through the same Fayettenam he lived through.

Alongside the preestablished downplaying of his presidency, he has also faced doubts due to his creation of the Dreamville Administration while speaking out against political parties. King Cole has since explained that what was meant behind the statement was to eliminate the Republican and Democrat parties, making all running parties (effectively) independent.

Drake - J. Cole and Drake's relationship was one of the strongest bonds in modern hip-hop, tracing back to their collaborations back in 2010. They've worked together few times across their decades of work but it was always love and respect. There were rumors of a beef from a few bars from Who Dat, but it was quickly disproven. They were close and Drake was featured on J. Cole's promotional video for Might Delete Later on "might delete later vol. 2". But due to J. Cole's bowing out of the 2024 rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, they have since been on bad terms, as Drake has continuously sneak dissed J. Cole on his project Iceman, two years after the beef. J. Cole has spoken more neutrally but still respectfully about Drake, when asked about if Iceman was a classic he spoke on how due to the hip-hop climate at the time, nothing can be a generational classic, just to certain groups of people. Drake has since dismissed J. Cole's prominence while also threatening North Carolina's sovereignty by heavily investing into Georgia, threatening stability due to the proximity with North Carolina and the Southeast Mob.

Kendrick Lamar - J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar's is relatively similar to Cole and Drake's, although with even less collaborations, namely HiiiPoWeR where Cole created the instrumental, and Forbidden Fruit. They also had an entire joint album that never saw the light of day, other than a few snippets and showcases, the latter being from J. Cole's Inevitable podcast. professional relationship was strong as Kendrick did the hook for Under the Sun, but in the beef J. Cole was dissed alongside Drake, although the shots weren't as scalding. J. Cole has shown love and respect to Kendrick since the beef. Kendrick Lamar has rarely expressed any emotion towards Cole, only some lines that could be interpreted against Cole. Internationally, there are no formal aggressions or relations with one another.

A$AP Rocky - J. Cole and A$AP Rocky have mutual respect for one another, collaborating twice, once for a G.O.O.D. Friday remix of TKO alongside Pusha T, while later post-beef in 2024, they collaborated on the track Ruby Rosary. A$AP has also spoke on J. Cole in an interview, "you don't f*** with Cole that ***** fire". During the New York Revolution, A$AP spoke at a rally expressing support for J. Cole's presidency, calling him the legitimate leader.

DaBaby - Their relationship was once professional respect, it has since transformed into competition from DaBaby's end. They collaborated on the track Under the Sun from Revenge of the Dreamers III, being the hit from the LP, but seemingly during his "fall off" DaBaby repeatedly took shots at other artists, including J. Cole. J. Cole had shouted DaBaby out on his 2026 track Old Dog, so the beef appears one-sided. The beef carries on into presidential years where he attempts to usurp J. Cole as leader of North Carolina.

Jeezy - Jeezy and J. Cole has a professional relationship, largely staying in each of their own individual musical lanes. Although Jeezy had a track called American Dreams featuring both J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. They have a loose partnership via Southeast Mob, although it's seen more as a partnership than a brotherhood.

JAY-Z - His historical mentor and 90s rap legend, they held a professional respect for one another but a professional distance. They collaborated twice in 2009 and 2011 on tracks A Star Is Born and Mr. Nice Watch. On Might Delete Later, J. Cole raps on 3001, "ask [JAY-Z] how much did that kid gross for that label? Paid dues, had to pay dude for my masters, but I'm grateful, sh*t, business is business". In presidential times, they're completely neutral, partially due to A$AP's support of J. Cole and their recent collaborations compared to J. Cole and JAY-Z's business ventures, despite J. Cole's expressed love for JAY's support.

Ari Lennox - Ari Lennox was a previous signee to the Dreamville imprint, before departing in April 2025, citing feeling "lied to and manipulated" by the label. Although, her relationship is more complex as she spoke out about Dreamville and J. Cole, saying she wished she never took it to the internet and her issue was with miscommunication, alongside the fact that she'd reached out to Cole and wanted to apologize. Ari Lennox, now having control of DC, expressed a want to collaborate and ally with all nations possible, including Cole under that umbrella.
