Economy of Rylland
Rylland has one of the largest economies in the continent of Teryana, and in the world of Irkans. With a total GDP of $3.78 trillion, Rylland has the 4th largest economy in the world of Irkans and 2nd in the continent of Teryana. The economy is mostly dominated by the tourist industry, as well as Information Technology, Basket Weaving, Cheese Exports, and Automobile Manufacturing. Agriculture is the only downslide as only 11% of Rylland's soil are arable for farming, as well as the cold winters worsening it. Rylland's largest trading partner is Farmentia, followed by Hosanna, Louthetia, Lee Shan, and Anorlea. Rylland is also one of the largest trading exporter in Teryana and Irkans, with a trade surplus of $1.918 trillion.
Arms Manufacturing
Rylland currently only produces 12,000 weapons a year, because of the high pacifist population in the country. Currently, armored cars, guns, ammo, tanks, etc were only produced in the southern province of Juricania, whose pacifist population is only 9%.
Automobile Manufacturing
The Automobile Industry in Rylland is the 7th largest in Teryana, and 13th in Irkans. The industry also helped the economy, but increased pollution and traffic in some cities and environments. Big brands such as Autorylk and RylkCar were responsible for making high quality and expensive cars and sport cars in the Ryllandic market.
Basket Weaving
The Basket Weaving Industry is by far the biggest in Rylland. 810,000 baskets were produced in Rylland, mostly in rural areas to make money and is also important to Ryllandic culture. This also makes Rylland the largest producer of baskets in both Teryana and Irkans, as well as having the largest basket industry in Teryana and 2nd in Irkans behind only Pharmelans.
Beverages
Rylland produced about 500,000 soft-drinks a year, making them the 12th largest producer of soft-drinks in Teryana. Companies such as Coca Cola, Sprite, Fanta, and Ryllandic brands such as Dardeqa and Hajakner's were responsible for the industry.
Books
Rylland produced 400,000 books a year, making them only Irkans' 21st largest book publisher. Libraries, especially the ones in major cities are home to having the most books in the country. The Osmarch Library is one of the largest libraries in Rylland, followed by Yalungka, Vermana, Requia, and Taswell.
Cheese Exports
Rylland is the second largest producer of cheese in Teryana and third in Irkans. Cheese were usually served in restaurants, cafes, and farms. Some high quality Ryllandic cheeses were mainly from a species of cow called the Ryllandic Cow.
Some cheeses were very vulnerable to a disease called Fragher's disease, which mainly spreads on low quality cheese purchased from the black market. The origin of Fragher's disease is likely the same as the other diseases spread on cheeses.
Companies such as the Heskenburger Cooperation and Daily Lygallonia were the backbone of the entire Ryllandic cheese industry, as well as making well-made advertisements on Ryllandic television.
Furniture Restoring
Rylland currently has no Furniture Restoration Industries, except in the Western Province of Rylland, Pyllonia, where carpenters are very common across the streets of Baladine and other major cities and towns in Pyllonia.
According to a survey, Rylland ranks 0/10 by the Furniture Restoration Ministry, due to the lack of many carpenters in the country.
However, recently as of October 2024, the Furniture Restoration Industry skyrocketed a little bit, which also cause the mass-hiring campaign of carpenters by the Ryllandic Parliament.
Gambling
Gambling is currently banned in most Ryllandic cities and towns to prevent addiction and bankruptcy of multlple millionaires, billionaires, and other rich people in the companies of the country.
The city of Larburg is the largest gambling city of Rylland, as well as earning the nickname "The Las Vegas of Teryana".
Information Technology
Information Technology is the backbone of the Ryllandic economy, as it produces the most phones in Teryana, with 700,000 cellphones being produced in Rylland. Rylland also produced expensive and high-quality tech products as well as inventing new ones in order to save it's economy from a potential collapse. Companies such as RylkTech, Pi Gamma,and Dachnilk were responsible for producing phones, computers, laptops, tablets, watches, etc.
Insurance
Not much is known on Rylland's insurance industry.
Mining
The mining industry in Rylland is the source of the country's resources such as: gold, iron, uranium, titanium, copper, diamond, ruby, emerald, etc. These examples of Ryllandic Mining companies were Rylmine and Kylersza.
The mining industry is also very controversial, as it destroyed almost the entire wildlife of the Salingko National Park, which caused public outcry from environmental activists.
The mining industry of Rylland, unable to resolve the controversies, saw a massive decline in 2023 after the passing of the Ryllandic Mining Act of 2023.
Pizza
Rylland has produced over 500,000 pizzas a year. Some Italian restaurants in the major cities of Rylland also include pizzas.
Retail
The Retail industry is only possible in major cities and towns, as retail in the country is almost non-existent since most of the country's population live in rural areas, where retail is impossible.
Timber Woodchipping
40,000 trees were chopped down in Rylland. However, just like the mining industry, it is very controversial according to environmental activists.
Trout Fishing
The fishing industry is one of the largest industries of Rylland, with 1,250,000,000 fish being caught in the Ryllandic coasts. Despite being one of the largest industries of the country, it saw a massive decline from 2019, after the ban of overfishing following the Ryllandic Fishing Act of 2019.
Tourism
Rylland has one of the largest tourist industries in Teryana and Irkans, and is one of the most visited, with the country recieving 9,000,000 tourists per year. Because of the country's geography and nature, most people prefer to visit national parks and wildlife sanctuaries as well as the cultural cities of the country.
