Education

Caterasia's Government works with education frequently.
We are a government of leaders who are determined to educate young people. Currently half of the population speaks Cotocolate/english
A quarter speaks only english.
And another quarter speaks only Caterasian.
(Of course these people will speak other languages too, but our two official languages are Cotocolate and English)
Our education system contains three school systems.types A, B, and C. They are explained below:
School type A:
-School Type A is for Cotocolate Speakers. Students who go to these schools most likely have Cotocolate as their first language. All teachers at these schools speak Cotocolate. Students at these schools will be required to learn English.
School Type B:
-School Type B is for native English speakers. The language the staff use here is English. Many students who speak both Cotocolate and English attend School Type B. The students here most likely speak English and two other languages (not including Cotocolate). The languages those students may speak vary by state, but of those languages, the most common include: French, German, Austrian, Hungarian, and Welsh.
School Type C
-School Type C is for students who speak both Cotocolate and English. This type of school requires a test to get in, BUT no tuition. School type C cleverly mixes English and Cotocolate for a unique learning experience only found in Caterasia!

.
By far, school Type B is the most popular.
But enough about types of school! What about the government and school?
Well, the government has taxes to pay for schools. There is standardized testing, but nothing of extreme circumstances! Caterasia requires all children spend 4 days a week at school. (MTWT) but Friday is not required. In some schools, Friday is a day of lenient rest. Others have eradicated it at all costs, while still others treat Friday as a normal school day. In Caterasia it is illegal to give out daily home work, but one worksheet over the weekend is totally fine. While homework is illegal, home projects are most certainly not. They are quite common actually.
In all schools it is mandatory to have a nap time. As students get older, nap time increases!
Caterasia hosts mainly the three different types of school (ABC) but there are a handful of private and/or religious schools to attend. Most Caterasians go to some of the country's fabulous colleges!
