The ENURDA is the chief resistance movement to the Falonen occupation of Cel'un'ya'ang (Valncyan Standard: Keltionialang), C'un'aan, and Suy'vunya. The ENURDA technically is not a resistance movement, but is the combination of all resistance movements (DAVKLD-CE, LSFC, ELAVF, etc.). The ENURDA was founded 4 ATO (After The Occupation), and has existed for 13 years now. A majority of ENURDA registered members are Jinq, though some Faljin and a few Falonen are in it as well. Not all resistance movements are participants in the ENURDA, though these are mostly criminal organizations. However, some criminal collaboration does happen. The ENURDA acts as the largest resistance movement anywhere, though time will tell if it can stay stable...
An explanation of the Falonen Occupation
Years ago, around 6 BTO (Before The Occupation), the Empire of the Kinq ruled a massive chunk of eastern portion of the continent Valncya. However, this all changed when the Falonen attacked. The Kinq had been relatively well-off, and so their military had deteriorated over time. The Falonen, however, had just emerged out of 300 years of civil war, and had become the most martial society in all of Valncya. They were experts at both land and sea warfare, and their current ruler (rather, one of few people who could keep them in check), dreamed of conquering all of Eastern Valncya under one culturally united superstate. So, in 30 Lushan (2nd month), 5 BTO, they launched a massive naval invasion of the Kinq province of Jho'ao.
The invasion begins
The Falonen landed, and with devastating efficiency, captured the southern half of Jho'ao in just 18 days. The Kinq had been caught completely by surprise, and most resistance was crushed in hours whenever it arose. Even the governor of the province was captured. Now, the Kinq only had a bit to rally levies to resist the Falonen army of 550,000~ (est. number). With the Falonen advancing at lightning pace (a style of war they coined as Spring Warfare, or P'y'veekev in Falonen), Jho'ao fell by 27 Xi'hu, 5 BTO, less than a month after the war began. With Jho'ao crushed, any hope of a quick rout ended as the Falonen established a peninsula-wide beachhead.
The Falonen advance on Hu'quo'o
With Jho'ao now under Falonen control, the heart of the Kinq lay just ahead: Hei'qin. Hei'qin was where the imperial family lived, and
where a majority of the government and military high command functioned. If the Falonen could take Hei'qin, they could potentially take out a huge chunk of both government and military functions. So, their next goal lay ahead: the fall of Hei'qin. Falonen military operations shifted to pushing north, out of Jho'ao and its peninsula. First lay the provinces consisting of the region of Hu'quo'o. Hu'quo'o was the origins of the current imperial family (Who, in Valncyan Standard, are also called the Kinq), and so this would be a major morale hit. Falonen military forces moved out as quick as they could, sweeping through a majority of Hu'quo'o by 15 Dongshu (7th month) 5 BTO.
The first test of the Falonen, Shanx U'ven
However, the Kinq had mustered a force of nearly 900,000~ (est.) levies to face the Falonen. The Falonen rallied a majority of their military to face this massive threat, and they met at the Yaanbix Shanx U'ven (Valncyan Standard: Battle of the U'ven Mountains). The Falonen had 520,000~ (est.) to face the nearly 900,000 of the Jinq. However, the Jinq had nearly no military experience whatsoever, while the Falonen (as previously stated) were the most martial society in Valncya. The actual battlefield itself provided plenty of benefits to the Falonen, who had the high ground, controlled some forts, and were generally in an easy position to resist the Jinq. So, when the Jinq attacked, they were slaughtered, absolutely crushed. Those who remained (130,000) were pressed into indentured servancy, and made to perform menial military tasks for the Falonen.
The Last Road to Jia'xan
However, some escaped the Falonen. Around 2 battalions of Jinq managed to escape, led by Colonel Jinan Kener. Kener, along with a few other colonels, had to lead their roughly-2,000 men across the entire nation to a secret rendezvous point, the village of Jia'xan in Cel'un'ya'ang. Immediately after Shanx U'ven, Kener's men managed to flee Hu'quo'o in a few days, collecting a few platoon's worth of refugees, rouges, defectors, or civilian volunteers. Eventually, while passing through the major city of Weiyan in the central provinces of the empire, Kener's makeshift force managed to organize itself into a brigade, and their journey was now being called the Great Path to Freedom. 3,000 were now accompanying Kener. By the time Hei'qin fell, Kener and his men were at Jia'xan, alongside multiple officials and the emperor. After only 2 more months, Kener's brigade fled, with only a skeleton force left behind to guard the escape of the new government-in-exile. Among this force was Uilum Tel, future leader of the ENURDA.
One last fight
With the Kinq military shattered and the gateway to Hei'qin open, the Falonen tore through, destroying any who opposed in days at most. In just 7 months, they conquered Hei'qin, with only the emperor escaping their grasp. For the next 5 years, they ripped through the former Empire of the Kinq, with some vultures picking upon it's corpse and assisting. Finally, the Occupation in the 3 sister provinces (Cel'un'ya'ang, C'un'aan, and Suy'vunya) began 5 years after the war began, and with this, the war also ended. Thus began the 17 long years that march on today, and here begins the history of resistance.
Thus began the struggle
With the Falonen now in control of the entire Empire, they swept across brutally and mercilessly, hiring *anyone* willing to collaborate, cracking down on even the slightest suspects, and going on a nationwide propaganda spree. Not even the tiniest village could truly escape this crackdown. Additionally, sweeping cultural reforms were enacted, beginning the creation of the Faljin class. These events all took place in the span of just two years, before the first resistance anywhere was created, the DAVKLD-CE in 13 Shaanai, 2 ATO. With the creation of the DAVKLD-CE, and the formation of the LSFC months later, the resistance truly began. Among the founders of the DAVKLD-CE was a previously-mentioned Uilum Tel. With the actual foundation of the first true resistance, the struggle for liberation had finally begun.
Friends, Jinq, Countrymen
With the DAVKLD-CE and LSFC now existing to begin the age of true resistance, other organisations like the ELAVF began to form. Eventually, after 2 more years of individual movements popping up, a breakthrough in inter-resistance relations was made with the formation of the ENURDA at the Summit of Heihu, a meeting of officials of most resistance in the small village of Heihu. Thus, the ENURDA was finally created, on 14 Xiangmi, 4 ATO. For 13 years now, it's stayed a stable ship, having success after success against the Falonen. But - 17 ATO will be an eventful year... for everyone. Everything depends on the people now, for if they are to win, they must stay united under the ENURDA, or else, they will be subjugated forevermore...
BASIC STATS ABOUT THE ENURDA Numbers: 1,295,754 (2.5%~ of the total population, 51,830,160) Founding date: 14 Xiangmi (6th month), 4 ATO Weaponry: Since guns are recent inventions, the ENURDA still relies on crossbows and siege weaponry for ranged warfare. Motto: Tang xao mur'oo paza libru'at! (Valncyan Standard: One day more on the path to freedom!) Secretary-General (Supreme Commander of All Resistance): Uilim Tel, Count of Hao
Otherwise, their main weapons for foot soldiers are pikes, spears, and scrapped swords, usually with little protection.
Since the fall of the Sister Provinces to the Falonen, the Sister Provinces, and the entire former Kinq in general, have used a BTO/ATO system. The Kinq have traditionally had 13 months instead of 12. Each of these months has around 28 days in it, with leap years almost never happening. Leap years aren't actually recognized in Jinq society, and the date that would usually come from it is simply ignored. Of course, this has led to an increasing inaccuracy in the calendar over the years, but the new one has reset that entire irregularity. The current year is 17 ATO.
