The results of the 2023 regional election in the “Land der himmlischen Reiter”:

The situation before the election:

In the past four years, there was a strong coalition from SPW, Greens, PFF and KPW, with Dominik Mairhofer (SPW) as prime minister. Mairhofer is hugely popular.
The frontrunner of the Greens and minister of agriculture Norman Läusch, a former organic agriculturer, is also popular.
In the election campaign the SPW and the Greens, which were predicted a strong gain in influence, support another coalition together.

The election-result:

The winner of the election is the green party, with their frontrunner Norman Läusch. They nearly doubled their percentage.
The other winner is the NVW, who celebrate a comeback in the regional parliament.
The SPW, which were predicted with wins, stayed nearly at the same result as four years ago.
The loosers of the election are the CKP, who lost more than seven percent, and the KPW, who fell out of the parliament.

The situation after the election:

In the election night SPW, Greens and PFF announce, that they will continue their coalition. Together they got 50 of 92 seats in the regional parliament.
It will be the second term - which is also the last term, according to the new law of term limits – as a prime minister for Dominik Mairhofer.
