We view being a resident as merely being in the region, while being a citizen shows you've gone out of your way to be a part of the community. As such, we ask as those that intend to just use the region as their residence continue to do so, but those that wish to go beyond that go further.

When you first join the region you're just a resident, this means that while you can participate via the regional message board (RMB) and through polls, you can't do other things such as run for any office of the regional government. To become a citizen you must get citizenship, to do that you must do as follows:

• Join the World Assembly then endorse our WA Delegate or have reasonable explanation why you can't/won't.

• Join the Discord Server and/or Regional Forum then interact there for a bit.

• Show general activity (i.e. be a part of regional activities) and/or genuine interest (contact an official for further information).
  

Once you meet all the requisites contact a member of the regional government to have them officiate it.

If you wish to further orient yourself and learn about the region you can join an orientation group. This can further inform you about the world of NationStates and launch further opportunities for you.
